  1. @@bmillerick Hi! Welcome and congrats! A budget is a good place to start!
  2. @@smfahey We are getting married in Costa Rica. Our package has been reserved. For our resort, there is only one WC, so we just contacted her directly.
  3. @@smfahey I am! I'm planning for March 2017!
  4. @@vancouverpetunia We already started looking at linen shirts and khakis. And by we, I mean me. I buy most of his clothes anyway. Hah hah. Bathing suits, and the rest, we have plenty of, so not really all that worried about clothing. I already have a packing list in the works (I make a packing list for every vacation, weekend getaway, etc.) We'll be at the Westin. Did you guys do any excursions while you were there?
  5. @@Kristen112808 I'll PM you my zip code. Interestingly enough, I'll be in Chicago in a week and a half.
  6. I keep going back and forth about putting them in our bags. Part of me is like people will definitely bring their own. The other part of them is like, people will not want to mess up their nicer sunglasses playing in the pool, beach, excursions, etc.
  7. @@smfahey Hi! Welcome and congrats! When in 2017 are you planning for?
  8. @@Natily Hi! Welcome and congrats! Whee were you thinking of going? Central American? Caribbean? South America?
  9. @@RandL2015 Your wedding looks amazing! congrats!
  10. @@Berg999 I found VERY cheap ones at michaels. I think I'm going to go with assorted sizes. I think it'll be interesting.
  11. @@Kcusack89 I agree with @@tiffanyt, the sooner the better. The further out people know it's a destination wedding, the more time they have to prepare. While we sent ours out about 11 months out (and I wish we could have sent them sooner), FI had told a lot of our friends and family that we were planning on a DW, so they were prepared.
  12. @@nadiakat17 @@tiffanyt No BP. We decided not to have BMs?GMs and none of our friends want to bring their kids. Hah hah. They were like, "we're going on vacation, no kids!" We might get some gifts for our parents, but we paid for everything so it'll just be something small. Like thanks for raising us. We're not really doing a rehearsal/rehearsal dinner either. However one of our guests has a 40th birthday one night and another two guests are having a wedding anniversary another night. So we're going to do something special for them. Outfits for that, working on those. OOT bags have been decided on, and what goes in them. Just waiting until we know our numbers. We're working on music. So frustrating because my FI is a musician, so he's super picky and super opinionated. So, it's been mostly left up to him. We're currently having a debate about friends of ours play music to walk down to vs hiring musicians. But centerpieces/table runners have to be worked on. @@Natily Thanks!
  13. @@TNT2015 Do you still have the Extra strength pain reliever packets or the Antacid tablet packets?
  14. @@Kristen112808 Is the cake stand still available?
  15. I feel like there's stuff I'm leaving out. For our March 2017 wedding: Dress is bought, still looking for a seamstress, but I can't start on alterations until December/January Shoes are bought. Make Up and Hair - Resort spa, but they aren't taking appointments yet that far ahead. Accessories - Still working on jewelry, veil, etc. His clothes and shoes have not been bought yet, but he's only doing khakis and white linen shirt. The venue will covering the caterering, linens, etc as well as flowers FI is in discussions with DJ (booked for reception, but FI wants him for ceremony also) Photographer is booked Invitations - have been decided on, but have to be printed and assembled. Cake topper bought. Officiant, booked. Can't do OOT bags until we know who's coming. Same with our escort cards (having very non traditional ones). Passports are in order. Documents are in order. Flights haven't been booked yet, but FI has to be approved for this time off first. What am I forgetting? What else do I need to do? Everyone keeps telling me I'm WAY ahead of what I need to do, but I don't feel that way.
  16. @@AdamnJenn17 A USB copy! That's a really good idea! I'm going to upload mine now to a USB stick!
  17. I guess I don't understand how having a legal ceremony at a DW and a legal ceremony is any different. We will be getting legally married during our ceremony.
  18. @@jengak5 We ended up booking the Westin.
  19. @@melissadavis I would also suggest making sure you can bring them into the country. Sometimes they won't allow it.
  20. What are your centerpieces and decorations and how are you planning (or how did you) to transport them? I'm concerned about broken items, etc. My resort provides some items, but I still want to add a little.
  21. @@tiffanyt You definitely need a bra, or some kind of cup under it - for large OR small girls. We went to a wedding where one girl did not have anything under the material and let's just say everyone noticed that she needed some type of pastey. Personally, I think they just aren't the most flattering dresses.
  22. @@GloriaEvans Westin Playa Conchal in Costa Rica. We knew we wanted an all inclusive. So that played a key roll. We looked into Mexico and DR but ultimately decided against it for a number of reasons. A lot of our friends were actually super excited about CR because most of them have never been there before.
