Your wedding was absolutely gorgeous I am getting married there on July 4, 2016! A few questions was it more to have your wedding surrounding the pool instead of on the beach? Did you bring lanterns or pay for the extra? Thank you for the great review ! Did they include this black light lamps on the beach or were those extra. We got the Secrets ultimate package and plan on getting the DJ for 3 hours for the reception. What are the options for music for walking down the aisle do I have to rent a sound system for that?

We got $214 per person a nights but we are in July which is conjsdered there off season. It actually is one of the lowest rain percentage months odor the year though with av average of only 2.9%.

I am getting married July 4, 2016 in Jamaica at Secrets St. James. If you are still looking I highly recommend it we went there on vacation a few years back and loved the resort. In regards to getting a room block I have already obtained one for my guests. They gave us a discounted rate, for every 9 rooms the 10th gets a complimentary upgrade, for every 5 rooms is booked the 6th is free (up to 3 rooms and this credit goes to you so you can choose to distribute throughout or keep for your self), and a $100 resort credit for every guest. I went through Liberty Travel and they have 250 complimentary save the dates that are actually pretty cute unfortunately you can not add a picture though but it helped us save money. As I said we are almost 2 years out so you should not have a problem setting up the group rate. The only thing your guests will have to wait on in airfare because most airlines do not establish there schedules until 11 months prior.

I am not getting married until July 4,2016 if anyone has purple or teal or Caribbean blue items they are looking to get rid of after there wedding I would happily buy them. Items I am particularly looking for: Chair sashes Table covers or runners Round tall vases (hard plastic or tough glass) Gauzy fabric for the gazebo Paper lanterns

That looks awesome it is so expensive to send save the dates and invites out through regular mail. Not to Mention the cost if invitations

That is awesome I wish it was combinable here through the travel agent we couldn't reserve the airfare unfortunately in less we paid the full amount for everyone even then I don't think it was an option. Airfare won't be out for another year for us so I'm not sure the pricing. I am nervous Bc we are getting married on a holiday weekend so prices will probably be high.

I think that is incredibly rude I am including a guest option for everyone we are inviting who is not a couple. In my opinion if they are willing to spend all that money to come to my wedding the least I can do is allow them to bring a guest it is only $80 extra from me.

I am using one because they were able to get a group rate for my guests. Which includes lower room rates, $100 resort credit for everyone, the 10th room booked gets an upgrade, and every 5 rooms the 6th room is free. The free room credit goes to me so I can use for my room or distribute the discount for all of my guests. (A lot of these promotions are resort specific this is what secrets was offering) Also I figured since it is a lot of money I would prefer my guests to have the option to pay the trip in installments. She also coordinates travel to and from the hotel. All of the bookings so I do not have a lot of guests coming to me they can ask her all of the questions in regards to travel. She can help with the passport process. Also flights as well.

How do you include airfare in the pricing you post when that changes daily? Also did everyone put money down to hold a certain amount of rooms at the group rate? The travel agent says it is refundable when everyone puts there deposits down and I will get the difference back for whatever rooms were held and not booked. They said if I did not put the group deposit down then I should not quote the rate because it could change.

I can completely empathize and although it is horrible I am happy I am not the only one going through this. I went to my future in laws tonight very excited to talk to them about all the wedding details that I have spent hours planning. Please keep in mind we have always said we were going to a destination wedding as we absolutely love to travel and wanted to get married somewhere gorgeous and memorable. They have known this and I even estimated to them even before we were engaged how much this would cost. So this is not an out if the blue thing. It was my dream to get married in Italy but we decided against it to make it more affordable for our family and friends. So all day very excited to share the details and start putting the guest list together. I get there and they are essentially badgering/at times raising their voice how this is so expensive, why can't I get married here and on and on. They have 2 years to save up!! Which in my opinion is more then enough time. We are paying everything ourselves for the wedding and asking nothing else of them other then to come. Keep in mind they just spent the same amount to go to Disney last year and spent a sizeable amount to go on a cruise the year before so it amazes me they are giving us this much trouble. They are paying for there other 2 kids to go which is making if so much because it's 4 of them, they baby them to no end when they are 20 and 22 they should be paying there own way IMO. But they do nothing for there oldest son which is the one I am marrying. All we are asking is that they come. Needless to say I have been histerically crying all night because I was expecting a lot happier outcome.

I am going with online RSVP as well, for this reason I spent an extensive amount of time on our wedding website. I liked the functionality of Wedding Wires personal website more options so your guests could RSVP to multiple events. For instance if you are doing the destination wedding and a AHR. This is a great idea I think I will do the same!
