If I had an AI resort i would try to do something for free like all get reservations at same restaurant or meet in the bar

We also have a very large suite; we are doing wine and tequila tasting and cooking big batches of fish tacos and beef tacos... We might have more of a potluck style to bring side dishes as guests are going to go to Walmart etc to stock their kitchens . I'm bring a couple things to decorate like festive Mexican picado banners, mini piñatas and a Mexican serado table runner

Has anyone tried My Fantasy hair? I read good reviews. What's the best way to match your color? What length should I get.?. I measured my hair it's like 19 inches so I'm deciding between 20 and 22.....

I ended up designing my own transfer and buying bags from cheap totes . We just ironed them on yesterday and they turned out fairly good all things considered . Yes the wedding chicks one was nicer but it ended up being like 1.50$ vs 3.25$

Yeah, most weddings I have been to do not introduce parents...just something to think about to avoid that whole situation!

I hate people who don't write thank you'd for things like this! I couldn't attend a friends wedding so sent a generous gift and got radio silence in reply ( also the ones that refused to respond to my texts, rsvp about my wedding and the wife is going to PV like literally a few weeks before my wedding lol..., I heard through the grapevine they were mad I didnt "make enough effort " to attend theirs although I had already had out of country plans for a year) I digress. Anyways Kim, I think a thank you card is warranted for the bachelorette card hmm but then again I wonder what the etiquette is for that as I am having mine this weekend and now am questioning writing them. for the work maybe you can make one thank you and post it on a bulletin board or something? I had thank you'd made on vista print with starfish, our color, and our names in order to give them out for the wedding shower stuff but you can probably just use the ones you are getting?

I usually mention the gift if it was a thing, if it was money I usually say "thank you for your generous gift. We look forward to be able to use it for an awesome honeymoon (new table, night out, etc)"

I ended up getting a 100$ DB dress for 50$ on tradesy that I actually had looked at previously ... Very lightweight!

Oh yeah. All my FIs friends ended up backing out ( one still hasn't even said anything but obviously isn't coming...so rude) at least one of them sent us a check for a decent amount as a wedding present so it will more than cover our cancellation fees! Lol but we will have to shell out some $ for the catamaran because we expected more to go than actually are( everyone is paying a certain amount but we will cover anything over that it we don't have enough people) oh well this wedding has not been cheap at all .

Yes for sure! We've got essentially our final number now . The only two people we are letting slide for one more week (rooms need to be canceled then) are a couple where one has terminal cancer and is playing it by ear. I think I can give them a pass for that...the only legit excuse I've heard and they're still trying to come! Now I'm focused on getting the wedding planner to respond to my emails because we need to hammer out those last details

@@calgarybride2015 nope. We just wanted the people who said they were coming and actually had a room on hold to admit they weren't so we could release their room. At that point we honesstly didn't even want them to come since they were so rude. These people were mostly my FIs friends who has a higher tolerance than me but I told him I don't want to invite them to my AHR , go to their weddings etc and he agrees. They are his friends from high school so he rarely sees them anyways ( we did go to Europe to visit one however!)

I think we all have those. I guess some people just like to avoid things. I wonder how they function at work. For one of them we said " since you havent responded we're assuming you can't come which is fine but please just let us know because we are ordering stuff" that seemed to work bc then they didn't feel as guilty for saying no ?

@@kcole123 I don't know if you are Canadian, I'm American so used our Amazon for 36 pack different bright color sunglasses for 19$ from seller edge I-wear. Good quality! I spent a long time looking for deals

I totally know how this feels, similar things happened to me. People kept dropping out and the worst was when they cried money but I saw them making lavish purchases. My FIs friends all backed out last minute even after we put money down for them. I really wanted to email them and yell at them bc I could tell my FI was heartbroken even though he wouldn't admit it. I guess it's nice to know my loved ones aren't the only ones who stink. This seems to be a universal problem, I dont know if I am going to be able to forgive some of these people. In the end I just take deep breaths thinking there are people who care about me who are coming and its going to be a great wedding and so much fun and maybe a bit cheaper now too!!

I think you can cut costs in a lot of areas. For one, maybe your TA has a deal that your stay is free if x amount of guests book? You can look into switching locations for one that offers free ceremonies. You can always have a semi private dinner and party at the nightclub later. Don't worry about favors I just went to a destination wedding where there weren't any and no noticed at all. DIY things you can, for instance raffia starfish for the aisles cost like 10-15$ per item and making mine is about 3-4 $ using coupons. You can make super cheap invites on vistaprint w their coupons and pass them out in person or at your wedding shower or something and people can rsvp online. You can go with simple decor with candles in dollar store vases. Definitely think of cutting the guest list too. Hope this helps.

Haha- what were your feelings on drinking at the wedding? I obviously would love to party it up but I don't want to get drunk and forget the night! And you know once you have a couple it can get carried away....

Oh man I think everyone on here has stories about this, in general the rsvp rate seems to be very low especially with people that you suspect have no intention of coming or have verbally told you no. I took to sending out texts like just respond to this if you aren't coming! I even had quite the time getting the people who booked to rsvp... I guess they didn't realize I needed things like food choices, catamaran count etc. I am now disillusioned with the human race and am still shocked by the rudeness

It's funny how I found that some people who had weddings ( though not destination) were also bad with RSVP ing ! And some of them had even told me before how annoying it was! I'm in the same boat, there are still some questionable bookings 2 mo out but at least we have more of an idea now

I was shocked on alterations. My dress was cheap and it was like almost 3/4 the cost of the dress. I didn't realize I wouldhave to hem it bc the rest fit perfectly... Bc of beading it was $$. I hope to loose 10 lbs before leaving, hope it doesn't need more alterations since it is a bit snug now

My moms not a good swimmer hope they have life jackets. How was the food on it? What activities did u do on it-any snorkeling or kayaking? I can't wait for it! To the wedding etc- anything you wish you would have brought or regret besides what you said ? What did the guests use most in the oot bags?

I am just doing our bouquets and bout for the groom... I don't think its worth it to spend money esp for parents ( I personally think wrist corsages are hideous)
