Have you considered waiting a while to go on the honeymoon? I feel like since we will be in a tropical place for a week, it would be better to come home for a few months and wait til the winter and then have something else to look forward to!

it has all you can drink booze, a hot lunch (probably more like chicken, not lobster), snorkeling- it is a half day thing too. I wish there was swimming with dolphins- that would be awesome!

@rtscent- how much do you think the food and beverages will cost per person? For the one I was looking at the cost of everything is included in the rental so it was about 40$ per person, wondering if this is roughly the same. I will try to negotiate something with different companies.

yeah what is wrong with people not responding? I texted people at first just to get a general gist if people were interested in going and one friend blantently ignored me....it is fine if you want to say sorry, cant swing it!

dollar tree had 1 $ "after sun" lotion, which may contain aloe. I would prefer a lotion, I feel like actual aloe is so sticky

I am wondering what people are doing for this. We are looking into it, and for the boat and amount of people it will likely roughly be 2000. I kind of want to be a good hostess and pay for it, but that is a LOT of money... My friends destination wedding is in Oct, she is doing this but had people RSVP and pay through the catamaran site on her website. On her actual wedding invitation under Events it mentions the catamaran but not anything about the cost, and I guess people just found out when they went to her website. I don't really know what I think of this.. So if you aren't paying for it, how do you phrase it and how do you collect the money?

I am debating between the two. I am really worried about the older guests not being able to navigate a computer well...although really that is just a few people that come to mind. I am also worried that if I have an online RSVP people are more likely to put it off and forget. And traditional RSVPs are probably fun to get in the mail. On the other hand, there is the whole added cost issue. What is everyone doing? Have people found that the online RSVP works well?

I am considering doing 3 different sized vases (from dollar tree) with flowers in water inside and those little lights that sit at a bottom of a vase. im not doing traditional favors per say (rather buying maracas while in mexico - heard they are pretty cheap) and also doing raffia program fans- this will probably total 3-4$ per person. Flowers you can buy online, but the really nice ones are almost as expensive as real ones- I would see what your resort offers (like smaller bouquets) or depending on where you are getting married, research markets/flower shops and just buy some the morning of or day before. I'm really saving big by using an ipod and song system instead of DJ

I feel like ordering real touch flowers may be less stressful and I can keep them- but at the same time I love real flowers. Part depends on if my resort would charge a huge fee if I found my own flowers....awaiting an email from the WC now.

was it the big Mayan Palace in Nuevo? (there is another in Puerto). Let me know what you end up thinking or if you have any further info/pics from the cousin. I have stayed there twice and think the grounds and rooms are spectacular, I just obviously have never been married there so am nervous! Thanks!

I know most of Mexico has banned them due to enviro issues (and maybe fires?), but my WC had told me Nuevo still allows it as long as the wind is OK. I lit some at my lakehouse- it was awesome, they go so high and are so pretty- but not going to lie, thought they were going to hit the neighboring trees and also wondered about the environmental stuff since they probably fall in the lake Also, I was wondering about the logistics of them? When I lit them it took probably at least 2 people to hold them, so I guess it can't be 1 per person? Also I feel like they might not all fill up at the same time and that we would need to have like 30 lighters on hand to do them at the same time?

This is what I plan to have in each tote bag beer koozie tumbler chapstick sunscreen/after sun lotion first aid kit with bandaids etc meds (ibuprofen, tylenol, pepto, loperamide, benedryl, tums) safety pins single serve flavor drink packs crossword puzzles/sudoko playing cards antibacterial gel loofah (so hard to find in other countries) maybe a water toy like squirt gun folder with resort/destination info also will buy bottled water, snacks there to place in bags things I thought about but skipped: bug spray (I know our resort sprays), candle (might not get use, too much space), flip flops, pashminas (too $, too much space), tissues (resort will have some) Anything you would add to the list? I found cheap canvas totes at cheaptotes.com, I would like to buy theses then design an iron on transfer for them with our wedding place/date. Anyone have experience with this- did they turn out ok? Also, where is the best place to find cheap custom iron ons? I have been searching but can't find anything reasonable Thanks!
