  1. I didn't even think of getting a cheap hotel room to allow stylin trio to come. I originally had them booked but my resort was charging me 800 for them to come in
  2. Ladies, I purchased water bottles from the dollar store to use for our welcome bags and a design from etsy for a waterproof label. However, here is my dilemma. I got wate rbottles that are more of a sport top water bottle (24oz with handle). The more I think about it I feel like i went with the wrong style. Should I return these and get a regular acrylic tumbler? I don't want our guests to not be able to use them because they can't get a drink inside them. I still have receipts so exchanging shouldn't be a problem. I originally picked these because I liked the handle and the size. any help is appreciated
  3. I am going to be checking all of my welcome bag items in one suitcase. This way everything stays together and we can quickly assemble once we arrive.
  4. I love this idea too! I added crossword books to my bag so I should insert one of these in each book. Thanks for sharing
  5. @kmk2016 How did you find cards being 80 cents a pack? I see them listed as 8.99 on the website.
  6. @lisajgarcia3 Love that video and your hair and makeup. you looked stunning! congratulations!
  7. Ive never met the couple and I definitely dont want strangers at my wedding. So I will just have to re address it with my family member that invited them so there's no miscommunications on the wedding day.
  8. Ill be keeping mine stored away for sure! Looking forward to not hearing a phone ring haha
  9. I heard wonderful things about styling trio. I orginially had them booked for my wedding until my resort said they were charging me $800 for a vendor fee. Wish I was having them on my wedding day
  10. I never thought I could keep it under budget but surprisingly I have made it happen without sacrificing some of the things I really wanted.
  11. This thread has been so helpful! What do you do if your WC is not the same person you will deal with once you arrive at the resort? I have a WC right now through Lomas and once I get on site I will have a different WC to meet with. Am I expected to tip them both?
  12. I am having a bridal party but because I know my friends wanted to be apart of my special day. They were excited to be bridesmaids. I am paying for them to get their hair and makeup done. And they purchased their dresses, but each girl was able to pick out her own style and get what she wanted (all just got the color I wanted for wedding). I will be taking care of their jewelry and shoes.
  13. Oh wow!! I was really hoping to have some time away from the phone. Good to know! Thank you!!
  14. Thank you so much for the idea on a forever frame. I have been going crazy looking for a frame that will work. I have seen many people incorporate everyone from the ceremony into the frame. The family and friends pour a small amount of sand first and lay the base of love for the couple and then the couple goes last. I am debating on weather or not I want to do this. Do you think people would mind getting up to do this?
  15. Yeah I was quite surprised when I saw someone else registered under our Travel Agent room block. Do you think I need to provide them with a welcome bag? I wasn't going to, but I feel like maybe I should. I have never met the couple.
  16. I have found that in the beginning of my wedding planning I was adding everything and everything. The closer it gets to the big day and the more I am reading on here, I have started to cross some stuff off my list. A photographer was extremely important to me so that is my big cost. You just need to decide what is most important and pick those things first. I know a lot of people forgo a typical cocktail hour and have guests meet in the lobby bars to save on some cost. Also, I don't think I am doing any ceremony guides. That will allevate some costs for us. Especially since we are doing welcome bags with all of the same info. Hope this helps -Another budge savvy bride
  17. We are going to be doing a group excursion, but we aren't paying for it. It will be optional for our guests. I am going to put the word optional next to it and the amount of the trip per person. This way there is no confusion on if we are paying for the excursion or not. They can be rather pricey, wish I could afford to pay for everyone but with the wedding budget is tight.
  18. Sarani from Sarani Photography does amazing TTD sessions. Check out her work because she will not let you down.
  19. I am making my mom a frame one picture will have a photo of me as a little girl in a wedding dress, middle will have a quote that says "Mom let's play dress up one more time" The other side will have a photo of me in my wedding dress (we took pictures when trying on). I figured she can replace that photo once we have some photos from the wedding day. I also get her and my mil a wine glass with them painted on there in the dress they are wearing. I plan on getting each of them hankerchiefs and possibly a necklace from Origami Owl's new bridal line.
  20. Most resorts only offer free wifi in the lobby areas of resorts and have to pay otherwise. So people may not be uploading right from the ceremony location. But if you want them not to upload photos I would still suggest you let them know just in case.
  21. I asked my best friends and sister to be in the wedding before I sent out the invitations. I even asked them all if doing a destination wedding would be possible for everyone before I event made it definite. There just were some people I couldn't get married without being there. I asked my friends over our celebration of my engagement dinner. I made each girl a box with all sorts of things inside representing our friendship.
  22. Do people normally think to bring gifts to a DW? I figured people would automatically forgo giving a present if they were traveling for us. Thank you for this board I will make sure our guests know that we do not want wedding presents.
  23. I definitely would let your guests know that you would like to be the first people to put your pictures on social media. This way everyone is aware. The positive thing about destination weddings is that most people will not even think to use their phones that day. Most people keep them tucked away in the safe in their rooms so they don't get roaming charges. So it is a lot easier to have this request away.
