  1. The more I think about the postcard idea, the more I like it. Postcards would probably be pretty light to bring back after the wedding. The heavy part would be the photo book to put them in, but you would do that when you get home. Now, to find enough postcards...
  2. I have been couponing like CRAZY for our OOT bags. Instead of travel sized products (for some things) we are using a 'sleeve' from bulk packages of items. This way our guests receive almost the same amount of product as they would from the travel sizes, but we are saving by buying in bulk. An example is pepto. The travel size packages are 10 to a pack. By buying in bulk our guests are receiving 6 pills per sleeve. Sometimes when I think too much into the OOT bags I do feel cheap, but when I break it down we are spending $10-$15 per bag. I think that is fair.
  3. I do not want a veil. I feel like it will be a waste of my money because I would most likely end up taking it out after the ceremony.
  4. I am not planning to have an ATR. It was never really an option for my FI and I. We just decided on a DW and that was it.
  5. @@linaco80 Oh I love that! I agree though, it might be very heavy to transport back and forth.
  6. I cant see these yet. Working towards 150 still... Can you PM them to me, or possibly email them? Please
  7. My home town has 2 bridal shows coming up in September that I plan to attend. I am hoping to find win some things like jewellery. I never win anything though. When my SIL was getting married she went to all kinds of bridal shows and won a ton of things. She won a head band that she never used, and she passed it on to me. I plan on using it for my 'something borrowed'
  8. Also interested in the luggage tags and I am wondering what you have for various OOT bag items.
  9. @@linaco80 Oh I like that idea! Very good way to receive unexpected reminders of your wedding day @@calgarybride2015 I really like your post card idea. I was thinking of using sand dollars and having people sign them, then framing them in a shadow box. However when I started to research the idea I couldnt figure out how to get the sand dollars to stay within a shadow box. Anyway, this post card idea sounds nice.
  10. @@pddcmc I hadnt thought of that. Thanks for the idea. I will talk to him about it.
  11. I expressed my concern about the glass to my FI as well. He assures me that he will bubble wrap each shot glass very well, and he has offered his carry on as the transportation. I hope everything goes smoothly in transport!
  12. I am not having an AHR. My family was pretty shocked when I told them, but I just feel I am going away to get married. Thats where I will have my party. As for a Jack and Jill, I have told my family no thank you. However, I am not sure I am being heard at this point...
  13. I have also stated that I am not interested in a bridal shower. I feel that since I am doing a DW and not having an AHR that it isnt necessary.
  14. @@pddcmc we are ordering them from discountmugs.com. We are ordering our OOT bags from the same site and I just received an email about free shipping!
  15. We are bundling out favours with the rest of the OOT bag supplies. We are doing different small bags within the OOT bag and we are calling onw Wedsing Day (or something similar ) and we are including tissues and the favour. @@pddcmc we do not want to pay the delivery either. We are thinking of handing them out to our guests personally. Also ensures that we know we have spent some kind of quality one on one time with each guest.
  16. @@linaco80 I like the idea of keeping the favours unique to you guys as a couple or maybe something that is significant to one of you. Brainstorm ideas and go from there. For our favours we are doing shot glasses. My fiance collects them (even though he is not a big drinker) and everyone knows that about him. So we found a website that personalizes them for weddings. The shot glass favours is really the only thing he is excited about at this point.
  17. At this point all my mom is concerned about is the dress shopping experience. She cant wait for it. I will probably end up taking my mom and my sister in law and then extending the invite to my future mother in law and sister in law.
  18. As much as everyone always says tanning beds are bad, I think I might have to go that route. I burn very easily no matter what I do. I would just like to go a couple times for a base tan before the wedding. My FI cousin owns a tanning studio and ahe has always told.me to get base tans to prevent my horrible burns. I have never listened, but I think I might before the wedding.
  19. @@calgarybride2015 we have finally chosen a destination. ..but now our TA is on holidays until August 5th! I feel like its always something. I took your advice and emailed the resort with my date and they did email me back with a general 'thank you for your Iinterest' email. At this point Im not sure if I should email again with the sate or if I should wait for my TA tocome back from vavacation on August 5.
  20. @@calgarybride2015 I researched it a bit. They have other versions I might consider. I dont like Shaina. I just like the lyrics. Makes me gushy when I hear it.
  21. @@calgarybride2015 I think I will put Jane Smith and guest on the envelope. We dont have an issue with people bringing a plus 1 it was more of just an etiquette, how to let them know they could bring a guest, thing. @@Sabes44 I feel the same way about not sending an invite for the wedding if you have already declined the save the date.
  22. I believe I have read on here somewhere that it is about 30% that will attend? But like you, I am in the beginning stages so I could be wrong.
  23. @@tygrrlily That is awesome that they are bringing the baby. I found out tonight that my brother is hoping to do the same. I agree with you. There is a lot left for me to do so I will just worry about it closer to the time.
