  1. I hope you dont mind that I am following your bag progress very carefully, since I went out and grabbed the same bags. LOL My Fi and I had the stencil/how to paint them conversation last night. Reading your posts now has my not so creative juices flowing.
  2. Last night Sean and I were out for dinner with friends, and they found it shocking that we are not having a bridal party. The only way I could think to explain why were are not having one is by using the movie 27 Dresses as an example. We feel that everyone that has made an effort to be part of our day, means something special to us, and how were we supposed to pick just a select few to be up there with us? So it would be like 27 dresses, a gigantic line of people on either side of us.
  3. Thanks ladies! To be honest we didnt do it for the Canadian aspect, we did it because I am a romantic who wanted a picture of us where it all started, and he loves me enough to go along with my overly romantic and mushy side! LOL
  4. 248 days!!! November 20 2015 is our day! We actually had some engagement photos taken at Timmies! LOL It was our first date spot, and I really wanted some pictures to capture where it all started.
  5. I bet your guests will love the catamaran trip! I love the idea of the sunglasses as well. I originally wanted them for our favours. However, my FI is known for his shot glass collection-although he is not a big drinker at all- and he mentioned the idea of shot glasses for favours, so that is what we are planning on doing. If I were you I wouldnt worry if you dont get to the OOT bags. the 7 hours on a catamaran is more than enough!
  6. I think it is completely possible to keep them way under $1000! Sean and I have been collecting things for a while now. I have been tracking the price and for 28 adults and 6 children (so far, hope the number stays this way), we have only spent $144.50 so far. We do have a few more things to add and pick up, but at the end of it all we are hoping to stay at around $300. I should add that we are doing separate guest favours, and we are not counting that price in the OOT bags.
  7. It was a pain in the tush, but I found the easiest way was to get a tiny pair of scissors, almost like the nail cuticle scissors, and cut the corners. We also had a corner punch that worked well for the one end, but the 'rip off' end would not work with the corner punch.
  8. I was just playing around with wedpics again. Turns out there is an invite guests function. You can invite them by phone/email, text, facebook, and ordering app cards.
  9. @@kcole123 I do believe that you can print the pictures from wedpics as well. Like you I think that as long as some use it it is worth it. I honestly think most of my guests will upload them when we get home. @@Meandhim Thank you so much. I feel like I was over thinking that hashtag making process. I appreciate your help.
  10. @@Meandhim Okay, dont laugh, but where do you make one up? Do I go to instragram and make one up there?
  11. @@Meandhim I also thought about making a # but can not figure out how. Any advice? I am with you as well. I dont think many people will be using their cell phones while we are there, but if they do i like to give them the option.
  12. I recently just made an account on Wedpics as well. From what I understand, you can tell your guests to download the app, and give them your username that you created, and your guests can just upload the photos as they take them to that specific account. Do you have a wedding website? If you do you could always add it there. Also I think adding it to your welcome Letter is a good idea. I know it might not work for you because your wedding is so close, but I also know that Wedpics will print business cards for you with all the information. That might be an idea if they will get to you in time.
  13. @@calgarybride2015 I wish you lived closer, I would consider hiring you as my decor person. That would allow you tons more time at Michaels. LOL I havent taken a picture yet, so I stole the one @@TinkerSofi posted the other day. We picked up 20 of the blue ones. They are actually quite wide when you open them up. And after taxes, and 30% off coupon we only paid about $1.40 a bag!
  14. So last night on my way to my future sister in laws for dinner, I asked my FI to stop at the Michaels there just to have a quick look. I couldnt stop thinking about these bags. Haha. so we went in, wandered the store with one focus in mind, the bags (which is generally hard for me when in Michaels, I tend to get lost in all the other stuff lol). We found them and bought 20! We got some pretty strange looks, and the cashier was questioning us like she thought we were insane, but in the end thanks to you we got one heck of a bargain! Just dont tell my future sister in law that I let my dinner get cold because I was bag shopping at Michaels. That stays between, me, Sean and this forum. HAHA
  15. @@TinkerSofi I feel like I now need to run to Michaels! I honestly just checked my email to make sure the 30% off is good tomorrow as well! LOL
  16. @@acw271011 what if we call it tangerine? LOL Believe me, when I was fantasizing about my wedding, before I was in the planning stages, I would never have chosen orange but like you said with the pink growing on you, the orange has really started to grow on me. I just hope that in the end it turns out as pretty as it is in my head. LOL
  17. @@TinkerSofi Thank you. Honestly, I am not a huge orange fan either. We plan to use it as our 'pop' of colour. I am hoping some of my flowers will be orange, and some decorations, but nothing too overwhelming.
  18. I didnt want to pick 'girly' colours either. We knew that blue was going to be one colour for sure, because its both our favourite. As much as I like coral, I didnt really want to do the blue and coral route. So we finally settled for a light blue, bright orange, and he will be wearing a light shade of grey. This is the picture I drew inspiration from.
  19. I can't offer any advise with Riu because I am not getting married there, but I dont get the chance to talk to my WC until 3 months before as well. I have found that when I email the resort, they will eventually email me back, but my TA has been awesome enough to be in constant contact with the WC herself, and she tends to answer my TA within 24 hours. If I have a question I tend to email my TA, and she forwards it to the WC. Maybe this could be an option for you?
  20. Well this makes me nervous. haha. We arrive on Tuesday, meet with WC on Wednesday morning, and get married on the Friday. Our only other option was fly in on the Saturday, get married on the following Friday, and leave the next day. I was not comfortable with that, so hopefully 2-3 days at the resort before we get married will work out.
  21. @@pddcmc it is nice to know I am not the only one. I seriously think that being a hopeless romantic about our wedding date is coming back to bite me-at times. I often think if I would have just chosen a random date, we would be so much closer to our wedding then we are now. Oh well, after November we have the rest of our lives, and will always have our special day.
  22. @ 4 months is plenty of time! Even if you only lost 1 pound a week, that is 16 pounds lost before your wedding!
