I have seen people who are doing that. It is a great idea. My problem is that I see so many ideas that I get distracted and check the links that people post, or search the net myself, and by the time I get back to it, I forget where I have posted and where I havent. LOL

I have been wondering what I should get my FI. My plan is to do it without talking to him because unfortunately his father died a few years back, and I know he wants him there somehow. So my thought process was to make his gift incorporate his dad in some way, but I just cant seem to find anything I feel is right. Any ideas ?

I love this website, and I am glad I found it, but man for someone who is a self proclaimed, very UNartistic person, I sure do have a ton of DIY projects floating around in my head. Haha!

I am starting to feel the same way. When my fiance and I started talking about a DW we originally wanted simple, no fuss, fun day. Now I have let my original feeling on the day get muffled by the excitement of it all. I think we are going to have to go back to our original ideas but spruce them up with personal touches of us.

Ive been struggling with the idea of not even having a BP. How far ahead of the wedding is an appropriate time to ask people to be in your BP(if we have one)?

I am planning on doing an OOT bag and just adding the wedding favour into the OOT.

I am trying to use the majority of my budget on the items to go into the OOT bag itself. I am still shopping around but I have plenty of sites saved in my favourites and check them often to see if there are any sales. My FI and I will be adding the design ourselves to the OOT bags after they are purchased.

Thanks for the encouragement. I contacted my original TA and she said she still hasnt received any new information and she will contact me as soon as she does. From this site I have also learned that manual requests from TA can take a while. How long do brides suggest I wait for a response? I am trying my best to have patiences, but this last week has been especially trying. Thank you for all the helpful advice and responses!!

I am very jealous of all you ladies who already have dates and places picked for your 2015 weddings! I started out with a travel agent in my home town, but I feel like getting quotes back on places is taking forever with her. Through the forums here I learned about a TA that a lot of ladies on here seem to be using. I emailed her to see if I could get her assistance, and it has been 2 days since I last received an email from her I am now not sure if I should send her an email, and if so, saying what? Ugh! I just want a couple quotes so my FI and I can lock down a destination. Right now I am feeling stressed and frustrated.

I also have been searching in Canada for OOT bags. I did manage to find one style that I am ok with at Dollar Tree, but I think I am going to end up ordering them from online. I have found bags online for $1.23 (American) and then I will have to pay shipping. However, although I have found them at Dollar Tree here in Canada for $1.25, I keep checking the other site so I feel like my heart is with the other bags, and not so much the Dollar Tree bags.

I would love to be able to see these. I will be back when I reach 150 comments!

I havent even formalized my wedding plans and I am finding myself in this situation, with my parents! I guess with all their excitement with the engagement and beginning stages of the planning that they are telling everyone, and think it is ok to extend the invite! We have gotten into a few heated discussions about how this is our wedding, and we have previously agreed that we do not want any guests who we do not have a personal relationship with. One of the reasons we want to do a DW is because if we stayed here we would have to invite people that neither of us knew. Plus, like many others have mentioned, I dont think they fully comprehend that the wedding is not free. Hopefully now that we have discussed the issue at length they wont be inviting any one else.

I also met my fiance on POF.

@@csho I am going to talk to my FI this evening about the situation. See what he thinks. My personal feeling is that I am anxious about making sure we get the date we have our hearts set on, so I would like to secure it asap. @@kmk2016 If you could forward along the information it would be greatly appreciated. That way if my FI agrees this evening I can start the process of messaging another TA.

My FI and I have a date in mind for next November and after reading this forum I am wondering if I should already be trying to book the date. The problem is that we are still waiting for our TA to get back to us on prices of the resorts we have narrowed it down to but as of last week she can only access prices up until October of 2015. Ahhh what to do?

My FI and I think* we have finally narrowed our seach down to this resort! We are still waiting for our TA to quote us for our Nov 2015 travel dates. Anything you are willing to share about the process so far would be very muchaappreciated.
