  1. Totally into etsy. I had one good experience and one bad. But love the site!!
  2. @@leesabrian We will be leaving an hour in between for pictures. We didn't want to miss the cocktail party.
  3. @@stefadile Thanks!!! I'm SOOOOO happy I went back. The dress I got is so special. The one I had just seems a little cliche for Mexico now that I've looked at both.
  4. Yes, I like her. We're not intentionally not friends on our own, for one reason or another, it just hasn't happened. When we're all together we hang out, talk, etc. But at the same time, FI and I felt we had to draw the line somewhere. That said, we're well under budget right now and can swing the extra invite.
  5. I don't think they are necessary. Can't you use some of your favorite pics you already have together for your site? Or if you really want new ones but don't want to spend money, can you find a friend with a good camera to snap some shots. Or, I bet if you went to a college you could find a student to do it as practice for like $50
  6. I am inviting my boss. She's going to be in Mexico for business and knowing that I think she's expecting an invite. Things would be weird and uncomfortable if I didn't invite her bc she takes this stuff personally. But that's me.
  7. Do there is a girl within my group of friends who I am friendly with but not friends. If we are a group we hang out together but I never talk to her on my own or make plans with her myself. The rest of the group I do. The rest of the group (3 other girls) are invited. I keep going back and forth over what to do about this last girl. On one hand, FI and I are coming in under budget and could swing it if she said yes but on the other hand I don't have my own friendship with this girl and feel like that's weird to invite her. To make matters worse, my bachelorette party is going to be a race and she will be there because she is part of my race team. How could I possibly have her at my bachelorette, but not the wedding? It's not like I can say 'you can't come to the race' What do I do?? Lost!!
  8. I've seen someone's on David's Bridal website that are short in the front and long in the back that looked pretty. Or you could do a tear away so you get the best of both worlds?
  9. We are going to start trying right away, but we are a little older. I will be 34 and he will be 38. Neither of us already have kids. If I were in my mid-twenties I would wait a few years.
  10. I am doing the basic chairs and adding chair bows that I will buy myself. I would love the upgraded chairs but at $10/each it isn't happening.
  11. @@amanda2016 I'm probably going with a mix of neutral colors. I tend to play it safe. Lol
  12. @@amanda2016 Yes, I tried it on again. I went back yesterday and I ended up getting a new dress. I'm SO glad I did. I am in love with what I got, couldn't stop staring in the mirror and now looking at pictures. I made the right choice. Then what sealed the deal was after the store, after I put a new deposit down, I showed FI the dress I was going to wear. He says 'that's pretty and I see why you picked it and you look very pretty in it, but it doesn't wow me.'
  13. Thank you so much ladies! I decided to go back to the store to try it on again and look at some other dresses. I feel like I maybe got the wrong cut. Fortunately the store is pretty accommodating and will let me apply the deposit I gave onto another dress. Or, if I don't find anything else I like there, I won't be obligated to pay the balance/take the dress. I'd still be out $900, but at least it wouldn't be the full amount.
  14. @@erobin223 We are having a welcome cocktail reception. It's currently scheduled for a Friday night (we get married on a Sunday) but we'll move the cocktail party to Saturday if we find more guests are arriving then versus Friday. Otherwise, no plans that night.
  15. @@jackielemman Thanks! I already called the store and made an appointment to try it on again next week and also look at some other dresses. I just think i picked a dress that's the wrong cut. I look at pictures of myself in another dress I tried on and feel like the cut on that one (slim a-line) is so much better. I feel like mine has too much poof and not enough other detail. And congrats!!! I see you just got married. Hope it was everything you dreamed of!!!
  16. I'm second guessing myself as well. I keep thinking maybe I bought the wrong cut (too much puff) and the details aren't right for me. I'm actually in the midst of freaking out right now.
  17. I am starting to second guess the dress I ordered, which has also unfortunately come in WAY ahead of schedule. Has this happened to anyone else here? How did you handle it?
  18. FLORIST UPDATE LADIES: Juan Carlos informed me today that the resort is changing its policy with using outside florists. In the past, they could be met at the gate to avoid a vendor fee. Now, you pay that $300 fee either way. Basically it's extra money the resort gets because they're losing your business on getting flowers elsewhere. If you have it in writing from someone at the resort that you can use an outside florist without a fee if you meet them at the gate, the resort will honor it.
  19. @@jh0510038 I have been talking to Marvin at Maya Floral. I also got a quote from Floreria Riviera, but they are much less responsive. I've probably been driving Marvin crazy going back and forth with colors and pictures! lol.
  20. Are most of you using the resort florist or did you hire an outside vendor? I was going to hire outside, but Juan Carlos just got back to me with a quote that is $95 more than what the other florists are charging, which I didn't think was too bad considering that I don't have to worry about anything then. I am REALLY hoping he misunderstood, but he also said there is a $300 vendor fee - I had asked for confirmation that meeting a florist at the gate would mean no fee since nobody is coming in. Did anyone else hear about this fee regardless of whether a florist steps foot on property?
