    Thanks @@JenniferH114! We definitely splurged on the room too. But the room was one of the reasons why I ended up choosing Excellence. I want to make it special for everyone and feel like we are taking care of them for sure. I also want to make sure we are getting our monies worth and not making guests feel obligated to hang out with us. I haven't heard anything about the liver percussion and fire show, but sounds cool!

    What package has everyone chosen?? I am debating between the excellence of love or gold package. Just can't decide! I don't think we are going to end up having a DJ or a very long reception. Just wondering if the extras in the gold package are worth it...??

    We booked Excellence Riviera Cancun. For me the "free" package had almost everything I wanted. I will be upgrading to at least the middle package, but its only $650 more and has everything I have to have in it, including a private reception. Just depends on what you want, but for me this was the best package as I was looking for something simple and not a "free" package that you would have to add a ton of stuff into it to make it fee like a wedding.

    Has anyone used or planning on using Beach Wedding Studio? They are the in house photographer at Excellence and just wanted to see if anyone had personal experience with them. Thanks in advance!

    Personally I love the first one. The second one is cute, but I would pick the first one (for me). But I love the dog in the second one! I never even thought about having a cake topper :/

    Mine doesn't compare to the other ladies, but this is what I have so far. We just sent save the dates out and I did this for a bit more information on the resort and booking details. Once we do the formal invitations, I will add more information.     I just put a note on the website where it said registry. I was wondering if people were going to ask for a shower too. I really don't care about a shower, but if people keep asking and wanting one, should I just do it?

    We are still deciding on this as well. We are forgoing a lot of the traditional wedding stuff and I don't think we will end up even having a dj at our reception. But we are just planning on going to the disco or somewhere after the reception to dance. Its his second marriage and I am not sure if I care about a first dance. Although if I did, I would love to take lessons and do a real dance!

    We were dating for just a little bit over 2 years when we got engaged.

    I would make sure you contact the hotel. Not that you need their package but if its their private land you could get in trouble. Here in California, there are city, state and county laws and you can't just get married anywhere. Of course you could just chance it, but I wouldn't want to chance doing something illegal in another country if I could avoid it.

    My sister cancelled her wedding for this year after eloping/having a secret ceremony last year. They just sent out and email saying they were cancelling it due to costs and hopes everyone understands. They are also already married and said the most important thing is that they are already together and hope to celebrate down the road. At the end of the day you can say as much or as little as you want to your guests. I don't think my sister told the full story to everyone, but that was her decision. I say leave it short and simple, no need to get in the details of every reason why.

    I still have to look into it more, but I read on here you can bring a few hundred dollars worth of items in as long as you have receipts.

    I am hoping to save money there too! I am below my budget now for that, but want to wait till I get closer and figure out how much room I will have in bags to bring stuff with us. Hopefully you will be able to get some good deals and savings!

    Did they turn out the way you hoped?? I want to do passport invitations too and you got yours for a good price!

    We are not having a bridal party or MOH/BM either. Its not that we didn't want it, but it would be another element to organize and potentially added stress. Since we are getting legally married in the states the week before we don't have to worry about the witnesses either. Plus I really like the look of just the two of us at the front getting married and everyone watching us.

    That was one reason why I chose my resort, because their packages had pretty much everything I wanted and wouldn't have to add much extras. Their outside vendor fee is $500 which is a bit steep, so I will probably end up using their photographer. Since we are doing our legal ceremony here the weekend before and have a photographer in the group, I think we will have plenty of pictures to choose from.

    I might my fiance on Match.com, at one point in my life I said the only place I didn't want to meet my future husband was online. Luckily I got passed that!
