Thanks @@HNeal for the input! I also heard about a app called wedding DJ and you can have all your songs on their and labeled so easy for another person to just play them for you. I haven't looked into it too much, but thinking about trying it out. @upstatekj- I wasn't planning on paying extra for ceremony flowers. I ended up using the ceremony flowers in the package towards the table centerpieces. Since I didn't want just one big centerpiece, we ended up doing 4 smaller ones spread out on 2 long tables. My original plan was one long table, but unfortunately Los Olas couldn't fit one table for our group of 32.

@@JenniferH114, that is so exciting! I am in the same boat, just the little stuff left, I just keeping checking off as much as I can when I have time/ am motivated. We are still working on the music too! I just brought that up with my fiance that we need to decide on that, last night. I think we will just have romantic, simple background music before the ceremony and I hadn't thought of anything during honestly. But we still haven't decided the songs to walk up and down the aisle too either. For some reason we just can't agree on the same thing! I think you would be fine with just some mellow Caribbean tunes!

Thank you @@JenniferH114, that's what I thought. I asked Jessica if we could do 4 smaller centerpieces instead of the larger ones. Simple pink, orange and white roses and I am bringing a bunch of votives and a burlap table runner. I thought you could chose 2 options if you gave them all the selections ahead of time? I decided to not even offer that, too much work (I do events/weddings for a living and didn't want to deal with it lol!). I just told guests it was a surf and turf and to let us know if they preferred the vegetarian option. I figured there is plenty of food around to eat!

I Leave For Mexico In 30 Days!
Sabes44 replied to hellosassypants's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Congrats! We are leaving in 71 days and I have a checklist with everything we have to do before then. I just keep checking off as much as possible everyday. I agree with the packing, or at least start a list of what you want to bring to make sure you have everything you need/want! -

Fresh Vegetables And Fruit, Safe To Eat In Mexico?
Sabes44 replied to Sabes44's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Thank you @@acw271011, I definitely have a more sensitive system than most, so I think I will avoid most fruits and vegetables the days leading up to the wedding. Definitely don't want to be not feeling well on my wedding day! I will also take immodium along just in case. Usually I am a walking pharmacy on trips out of the country because I never know how my tummy will act. -
Fresh Vegetables And Fruit, Safe To Eat In Mexico?
Sabes44 replied to Sabes44's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Thanks everyone! I am just finalizing everything and having a few bumps in the road, so I am over thinking everything! I appreciate the peace of mind. -
So, we just picked our menu and while sharing with a friend, she mentioned that it wasn't safe to eat lettuce in Mexico (our first course). I know this was the case many years ago, but is that still true? Now I am worried about the menu we selected and eating other fresh vegetables or fruit. Anyone else have any advice? Thanks! We are at Excellence Riviera Maya Cancun

@@saramatthews that is what I was thinking with the photographer. Doing 30 min of getting ready shots (I don't care about those shots too much) and then a 30 min first look. Did you do a first look too? The photographer said 30 min of getting ready shots is not enough, but I have seen it done and it works. Maybe more time for the first look so we have more time to spend with our guests....
-
That's my concern too @@saramatthews. I booked mine for 2pm based on their recommendation. Wedding starts at 6:30pm and photos will start at 5 or 5:30pm. I just think I would get super antsy just waiting around. I am putting my hair up, so maybe that will take longer. Sorry one more question @saramatthews. Did you select the hot pink rose petals? At first I thought just white on the beach but Jessica suggested pink. Did the bright color look good or was it too much? Can't decide on hot pink or just white for the beach ceremony.

@@Giocivs88 here is the pricing i got last year from him. He is only a little bit more than beach studios (plus the $500 outside vendor fee), but I think he is worth the extra fee. He has been great to deal with, quick to respond and we have exchanged over 30 emails. it's hard when you can't meet or really talk to vendors so communication via email is extremely important to me! 2 hours US $760 3 hours US $1.110 4 hours US $1.440 5 hours US $1.750 6 hours US $2.040 Extra Hour US $380

@upstatekj-we are getting married on May 29th! I have already given him some direction on what we like and want for pictures. But I also want to trust him enough to do his thing, cause a good photographer can get amazing shots that way. We are doing the centote session! At first I didn't want to do a trash the dress, but when we were looking at his pictures, my fiance just loved those pictures so we booked that too. They are amazing pictures you can't get anywhere else. So I figured why not, fingers crossed I don't freak out under water! Jessica just told me that the disco is now a sports bar but that and Kafe bar are open till 1am. So I am not really sure about dancing, she didn't really say unfortunately.

@TA Wendy- We booked the 2 story rooftop terrace room. Originally we were going to go with the swim up room but I know we will get plenty of use out of that rooftop during after the wedding! @Susanmarie813-We are using Juan Navarro too. I loved his pictures, pricing was extremely reasonable and very helpful I read mixed reviews about Beach Studios and wasn't able to see enough of their work to feel confident enough to hire them.

@@Giocivs88 the extra lights are for Los Olas if you are having your reception there. I don't think they have much lighting otherwise and Jessica sent me a picture without the lights and they are definitely needed. You can definitely do a lot of extras and upgrades that get expensive. Most of the flowers I really like are $200+ upgrades. Instead I just decided to go with what they have and modify them to get it to be more of what I wanted. @@JenniferH114 Did you design the menus and thank you notes or did you use a template? I am trying to find a good template.
-
That's crazy about the lights! I agree, I think they kind of just make up new stuff as they go along. @JenniferH114 Did you ever get a quote before? The first quote I got last year was $60 and then this year after I said I wanted it, she said it was $100 and that the prices went up. Honestly I think the $60 price was wrong, because even when she told me that number everyone else had been given a higher quote. We picked out most of the menu a couple of months ago, but I can't remember what we picked and need to confirm with Jessica still. I have seen a few girls comment on their selections on the review page. I always like to have a variety of choices, meat, seafood, cheese, hot/cold, vegetarian etc.
