I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with the first place but glad it's all working out for you! I'm not picky, but going through this site and the forums I want to add my own touches to the wedding too so I'm going to try and bring some of my own decor and have them set it up at the ceremony. Congrats, welcome and happy planning! First thing to do is definitely contact the resort and book the date! The date we first wanted ended up being booked! It turned out better for the date we got but still those dates go early! Then you start thinking about photography and what is included in your package! But then again I feel like the wedding gift should be something different. The boudoir shoot sounds fun but that depends if I lose all the weight I want to. Lol. @@WesnKris How's the planning going? We are getting married 10/24/15 at the Suites as well! All I've done is book the resort and photographer. Have you decided on any details like reception etc? Decor/colors I am struggling with! I plan to bring organza sashes to add some color to the ceremony but trying to match it to the tropical bouquet included in our package is hard because it's mostly red and pink it seems and I hate red and the fiancée doesn't want pink lol! @@jennifernoel1 sorry just browsing forums to up my count and came across this! Never got notified that you tagged me. All we have done is book the resort and our photographer. I have mostly been on here, etsy, and Pinterest for ideas on welcome bags, etc. Still undecided on the reception. We will have to wait on the final guest count to decide. I'm going to order my invitations soon to mail those out later this year so people will have it around the time the flights become available for our date. That way they have the TA's info along with the info I will attach with the invites on deposits, etc. I was going to put everything on our website but I don't think a lot of people are looking at it and I want to be sure people get the info. We were engaged February of this year and started really planning in like April/May. We booked our resort at the end of May and our photographer in June for our October 2015 wedding. We initially were thinking of a November 2015 date but it was already booked! So I guess it's good we started early. Unfortunately having people cancel on you is part of this process I feel. I had a close friend who had her wedding in Florida and most of her guests were from MA and a lot of people backed out! So I knew going into the process that a lot wouldn't show or cancel. Congrats everyone! We are getting married on October 24, 2015 at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay, Jamaica! We've been together over 11 years, we've known for a while that we wanted to get married it was just a matter of money. The fiancée wanted to do city hall but knew how much I wanted the engagement period and I can't lie I wanted a shiny ring too He proposed on February 20th, 2014 just a day after our anniversary (I worked on our actual anniversary). I ordered our STDs from zazzle.com and they came out great! $48 for 50 of them including shipping and tax. I'll be ordering our invites from them as well unless I find a cheaper website

I have a TA and a wedding website. I had put our website on our save the date but the post office marked over it so most people couldn't read it. So I'm sending out my invites earlier than expected with the TA's info on there. I'm thinking about printing out a little something at home to include with the invite with info about deposits etc on there. Not sure a lot of people will get to the website for that info.

I know you already picked but for others who are possible looking at this post the RIU resorts top package accommodates up to 40 guests. I don't think they have RIUs in Mexico though. They're mostly in DR and Jamaica. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
