  1. I know many brides have chosen to have their reception outdoors and the pictures look beautiful. However, it is very slim chances of finding indoor reception photos. Please share any photos you come across in the resort ballrooms to help give inspiration and tips to other brides. Can you please share the name of the resort and ballroom name in the post as well. Thanks!
  2. Hi, welcome, and congrats! You will find a lot of helpful information on this site. @@lovetrice23 I am so glad I have found this forum, I will bore people to death with wedding talk. I keep seeing different things all over the place. I am using a travel agent from this forum. It is very confusing once you start seeing everyone's different agreements. It might depend on your travel agency. We definitely did not pay our entire stay.
  3. I couldn't help but laugh as I pictured my mother's face. I think it's cool and very different. If that's what you want to do, I think you should. Perfect way to start the party for a fun couple. I love the message in a bottle as well. I want to do something similar by having my guests write us well wishes at the reception for us to read on our 1 year anniversary.
  4. As we reach the close of 2014, I just want to send a BIG CONGRATS to all of the 2014 MP brides!!
  5. chiavari chairs are a must. However, I will say my friend had the white covered chairs and tablecloths for her wedding reception and I actually only noticed it and didnt think twice about it. I am also thinking about buying table cloths for my reception as well, but I know I shouldnt... deep down inside.
  6. Ladies I have only you guys to vent to. If we were getting married at home, I pictured us getting married in a barnyard/vineyard type location with lots of burlap, ivory, blush and gold. However, we chose a destination wedding. While those can still come with me to Mexico, I think the burlap will look better if we were to have an outdoor reception. My fiance is totally against an outdoor reception and I think it would be great. So, we are in the ballroom and I just cant picture rustic in the ballroom. My fiance also wants navy to be incorporated. So I found myself hooked on the navy, blush, and gold color combo. Which is great. I have navy chair sashes, navy table runners, gold mason jars (from my grandparents 50th anniversary centerpieces), I plan to have the gold tiffany chairs and chargers. My dilemma is that I ordered burlap runners and planned to paint them in a chevron gold stripe, glue them over the navy organza runner, and glue something gold and dangly at the end of the burlap since its shorter than the organza runner. As you may can see I am so confused, I want the glam of the 20s but I also love the casual feeling of the rustic. But I feel like since we will be in a ballroom with uplighting, burlap just wont fit. So, I may be selling some items pretty soon. Please let me know what you think and please share any thoughts, pictures, you may have. I know nobody will probably even notice. But arts and crafts is my thing, so I put a lot of thought into it. thanks
  7. I know this page is old, but I hope we can revive it. I am on the hunt for a galia lahav replica, in blush.
  8. very nice deal, I am dreaming to be upgraded to first class?
  9. Will they do a fake tier on the bottom? How much would it be to upgrade the cake to a larger size? Are there even cake options besides flavor?
  10. message me your email. I will send you an email I sent to my guests. To hopefully get the ball rolling on booking
  11. Wright Travel definitely. I shopped around for TA and they were the absolute best. As far as resorts, it depends on what you want and are looking for. I am getting married at Moon Palace it's a Palace Resort. There's alot of useful posts on this site
  12. I actually dont think I want a very long video. But, I do really want a highlight video. I may splurge more on the photographs, because that is something I will always love. And then use a more affordable videographer for like 4 hours.
  13. Hi Ladies, I am in the process of trying to find a photographer and videographer for our wedding. We prefer them to be from the same company or be willing to "be from the dame company" to have one outside vendor fee, if we are unable to get day passes. What is the typical retainer fee for these types of services? I have seen 20% to 50%. I certainly think 50% is a little hefty of a deposit and a lot of money to put down over seas. I'm just wondering what is the average deposit I should expect. Thanks
  14. @@ctlind7 so exciting!!! I cant wait to hear all about it Hey ladies, we are working out our budget kinks now. I am a little confused on the free nights for the bride and groom. Do we pay for our entire stay by the payment deadline? Or are the comp nights deducted from our final bill? Thanks
  15. Interesting, I never thought to order a cake outside of the one at the resort. However, Dominican cakes are my favorite.. YUM
  16. @@Twinkies2011 I saw this date and thought it was you. Your pictures are beautiful. It looks like a great time. I can only hope our day will be as nice. Chanel Ps. I really can't thank you enough
  17. @@m1086 no I wasn't told that, are you using a travel agent? Maybe you should contact someone from Wright Travel Agency, they run this site and have a pretty good relationship with Palace resorts.
  18. I was just going to do a ipod hookup for the cocktail hour. I am trying to find a bose or beats pill speaker, and have a friend just keep an eye on it and bring it to the reception.
  19. we are having a ballroom reception, so I will have the chiavari chairs, tuens out im gonna need a dance floor too, plus draping for the walls. All because my future hubby doesnt want a reception out doors
  20. @@Wafflesmom blue was his choice, so I said navy. Ive come to the conclusion that my bridesmaids dont have to match the tables lol. I would love to see my fiance in a navy suit and I know navy comes in different shades and I dont want him to match the bridesmaids lol. I was gonna have the guys in grey pants and vests, blush shirts, and a navy/pink tie. Buttt. I found the navy pants on old navy for $24.00, they can wear that with navy suspenders, an ivory shirt, and pink/navy tie.
  21. My colors are navy and gold with pink. I originally wanted navy bridesmaid dresses but then I thought navy would be too harsh for beach pictures. So I'm going with ivory dresses, nude shoes, shades of pink flowers with a navy ribbon. I found gold earrings with a bkush and navy stone in hm. I'll be getting it for them
  22. Shop around for travel agents, I got quotes from about 6. I am using Wright Travel Agency, they gave me the best rates. Some try to get you saying transportation is included, but it can be like 80-100 dollars extra per person.. we paid about 100 round trip to Playa del carmen per car. I wouldn't pay more than $60 round trip per vehicle for a cancun transfer
  23. Linentablecloth.com has all their organza products for 50% off. I just ordered 80 organza chair sashes for $27.00. I plan to use chair sashes as table runners too. Hope this helps someone
