Sunset In Cancun
TheBHolders replied to MBK's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I like that you are having your cocktail hour before the ceremony. I think that's such a good and unique idea- 13 replies

Is anyone doing or have done something for the guests after they pay their deposit? I was thinking of sending a postcard saying "thanks for deciding to join us, we can't it to vacation with you in Mexico" Something along those lines, has anyone done something like this before? We are doing a video save the date and postcards for the less tech savvy. We will send invitations out later on, but it's more of a reminder. I just want this to be more of a thank you.

Awesome Room Key Holders For Cheap!
TheBHolders replied to DianneP's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
This is great, thanks for sharing. Are you using paper bags or totes? I am planning 2 years out hoping to get things little by little, only problem is I have no clue how many people would be going. Yikes. If anything, if I have extra I can sell or donate and if I have too little, hopefully I can find more. I think I'm going to get a plastic bin to store everything in that I collect- 31 replies

They look great. One day I'll go to hawaii. I like how you said formal invitations will be sent to those who rsvp online. I am making boarding pass invites. I have plenty of time but I got paper with a great coupon from michaels so I started making the jackets. So far I have 50. And I was like... I'm not making 100+ of these. I was thinking of sending guests something after they pay their deposit, I guess like a postcard saying something like see you in mexico. I should keep an eye out for mexico postcards

What rates are you hoping to get? Our wedding will cost people $1200 with flight for 4 nights. We are going in 2 weeks for $700 for 4 nights and when we went in December we paid $900 for 4 nights each. Please give some details on what you want in a resort. I have some places I can recommend but I would need some info.

Sunset In Cancun
TheBHolders replied to MBK's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
We vacationed in riviera maya in December. If I am recalling correctly the sun set pretty close to 6. Only reason I remember is because of our dinner reservations at Riu. I don't remember seeing a sunset, just daylight and night. I'm actually worried about this myself. My ceremony is at 6 in june, I want to be able to get sunset photos without it being night already- 13 replies

I am officially a Moon Palace Bride. June 17, 2016. We switched from Playacar Palace. As of now we are having a beach ceremony at 6pm, but I am also interested in the bugambilias gazebo, but since we are doing the complimentary package it will require some sort of decor. I would like to have a terrace cocktail hour and a ballroom reception. My coordinator is Brenda and I am working with Teresa with Wright Travel.

I have my date set for a Friday in June for a 6pm beach ceremony. I have not been to Mexico in June and I am not sure when the sun sets. I am thinking of moving my location to the Bugambilias gazebo. Also, do you think the horse and carriage ride is still special on the beach? What are you ladies doing for shoes if you have a beach ceremony? I was thinking sandals and heels for the reception (I want a ballroom reception). The question is where do the heels hangout at during this whole time.

Ok I will check. You have to have 80% of guests staying at the resort in order to host your wedding.

I will say this. RPM and RPRM are very similar, the only difference is their colors. RPRM has more browns and ivorys, where RPM is more white, silver and purple and just appears to be brighter. Our room did have mildew issues at RPRM our friends that stayed at RPM had no complaints. We visited RPM and it is nice. What would you like pictures of and amongst me and my friends maybe I can get you some kind of an idea

Yep, I talked to a Riu wedding coordinator during our stay at Riu Palace Riviera Maya I was told its $25 per person if you go over whichever package you choose. I just preferred to not pay per person at an all inclusive and I wouldve just had a small wedding at home. Riu is absolutely great though. We will honeymoon at a Riu resort and consistently use them for our vacations.
