  1. @@nadiakat17 I may tip WC if she gets her act together. The WC at the venue quit and I LOVED her, I was fully prepared to gift her upwards of $300, bc she was phenomenal. New one, not so much.
  2. @Wafflesmom@racht33 Hey thanks you two! I'm gonna go to a local dance supply shop and try them on to know what size and if they are more expensive than $15-$20 bucks I'm gonna order them from discountdance.com but at least I'll know what size and color. Your feet will love you!
  3. There are traditional flat toe performing ballet shoes, that lace. Then there are practice shoes that dancers practice in. I'll find a pic.... And attach hang on Here is an example. They do not rub pinch or squeeze. They are lightweight and cling to your feet. You can not see them if your dress hits the floor. They are going to on my feet fo sho!
  4. I will ask. If I find out they receive all of it I will be satisfied by that. Trying to figure how I'm going to squeeze in tips is brutal.
  5. I would be pissed and refuse. Before you get anymore emotionally involved call your friends mother and seek clarity. If in fact she is intending on bringing her son's two friends I would tell her "no" and they can entertain themselves doing something else on your wedding night. Period. Even with mom and dad footing your wedding bill there has to be some boundary. Lol grrr P.S. I'm a no nonsense person, if anyone RSVP after my March 1st deadline, they will not have a place setting at reception or a drink package. Seems stiff but I have to set boundaries.
  6. @@maybeoneday be good to those who you don't intentionally need, (think about that) as opportunity presents. And the world will reward you double. Your wedding will unfold just how you intend and even sweeter.
  7. @racht33@Wafflesmom OMG not that I care if others care, but I can see myself emotional in tears walking and the flops flipping n loosing my patience lol. TGF barefoot sandals. FYI I am having reception on concrete and don't want to risk stubbing and skinning a toe in celebration mode, so I am switching into dancer ballet flats. The real authentic dancer flats at dancer supply stores. Not paying $30 plus for a pair of flats that might, dig into Achilles' tendon or squeeze foot! $15 dancer supply yes please! Plus when dancing I wanna be able to lift my foot without loosing my shoe!
  8. This is my something blue. I would laugh if I lost my flip flop to the sand or it was slapping my heels as I walked lol I'm clumsy.
  9. @@Wafflesmom Holy shit I would have freaked out!!! Good thing it wasn't damaged!!! Ya I don't think anything special is needed. However I'm wondering how I'm gonna set it up without my man seeing it! He will have to leave our rental unit!
  10. Your so lucky yours held your dress so long! Let it Hang in bridal bag. That's all you need to do. By the time your fitted for it closer to wedding if will be left at seamstress. And tried on and left and tried on again. It will be aired all.
  11. Thanks! I appreciate your help! I know, I get it. I know how incredible service is there and how they literally work for n value tips. I am trying to figure out what they are used to receiving for weddings so I can tip them. I've sourced all vendors and I couldn't tip each 20% that would cost me around 3k. I wonder who gets the 35 bucks per person in gratuity charges for my food and bar service that's tacked on to my invoice. Don't want to short change any one. Anyone??
  12. @ Hey thanks! GO FOR IT!! I wouldn't ask permission, I might just tell them you intend to assemble your own flowers for a personal touch. Just casually mention your making your own " whatever you want". As long as a florist isn't coming into the resort and you don't have company names on your arrangement packaging you will be in the clear! You can get away with vendor fees if the vendor is a guest so ppl pay for their photographers to stay overnight etc. Your a guest SO you can be your own florist! Once you inform your WC of you plans she at that point shouldn't say anything negative. Good luck!!
  13. Not questioning whether I should tip or what exact $ amount you tipped, bc everyone's basis is different. I'm wondering what % you tipped your vendors. Specifically WC DJ Bartender of open bar whose gratuity is already included in head count Servers whose gratuity is already included in plate price Photographer Baker Florist I want to know if what I had planned will be received well. If it aligns with the majority I would think it would. I know any gratuity is appreciated. I also know how gratuity is expected in Mexico based on 12 years of visiting. Thanks everyone!!
  14. Google translate. Or tell them your making your own bouquets and make them or leave the resort and pick them up yourself. You will avoid the resort fee.
  15. Put whatever you want on there. Not everyone needs or wants crystal pitchers and candle stick holders all so often found on many registries I have shopped off of. It's 2015, technology is in abundance. If guests don't wanna buy it, they won't.
  16. @ Agreed. We are hiring a photographer for 2 hours total on wedding day, so it's captured more naturally, day, sunset, night (full moon in fact) without poses. Well maybe a few.....And then for good daylight photos, we are having a ttd session 2 days later at 4 or 5pm. Hoping this allows things to feel not only more natural but allows for a cooler temp at night for our actual wedding without sacrificing "our" photos.... Trying to make it all work nicely.
  17. There is a website that will tell you exactly what time the sun will set in any given point, on any given day. Because it is so hot and the sun doesn't set until 7:26 on our big day we chose to have our ceremony at 7pm. But every bride wants something different! If it were up to me we would wed under the stars. As far as rain, whenever it rains Maya Riviera, I think it's just brief. I wish for all brides to have a beautiful wedding to remember.
  18. @@Moments That Matter Thanks for sharing I knew that I had seen a list out there, perhaps one from yourself. It was very helpful to me when I was in the early stages of planning!! Ultimately, we decided off resort and couldn't be happier! Surprisingly it has been mostly easy planning and allows for me to have a wedding I truly envisioned at a price point we can afford!
  19. Based on your previous comment I thought you had 143 confirmed guests. I don't know much about your personal situation, I was only commenting on the logistics of your numbers.
