Thank you @@marinah84 for taking time out to reply. I thought the same too. I especially can't believe they are telling me that those who are not drinking alcohol ( people ages 1-17 ) are still at the same rate. I might look elsewhere. It's really sad bc I had almost all details in place. Where are you going? Do you know anything about kool beach club? Thank you !!

Hi brides! So question for all the brides in here... If you are doing a plated dinner and paying 100 bucks per head for 3 course meal and open bar, would you be happy with your guests ONLY being aloud to ALL choose steak or ALL choose salmon? I feel that it is horrible. I LOVE steak and salmon but some people can not eat red meat others don't care for fish. And every reception with a plated dinner I attended offered 2 options for a protein. I even offered to hand in total head count a month or greater ahead of time. But to tell me I have to select all steak or all salmon is absurd in my opinion. Like I said it includes alcohol a salad, main course. And dessert ( thAt I don't even want but can not change) Would you settle? The whole reason why I picked a private venue is because I wanted more options. I'm working with Grand Coral btw. But I might have to weigh my options... Thoughts? Thank you SO much. If you are not having your reception at a hotel please tell me where you are having it and what choices/prices you were given! I was given 500 rental fee and 1276 pesos per head! Even the kids who are not drinking and don't care for the first course etc. I want everyone to feel welcomed. And not having to turn their plates You can rent the facility for 2000 but I am pretty sure the menus they offer are preset and you have 4 choices. Thanks for reading!

I remember reading that in and around Playa Del Carmen you can get married on any public beach and as long as you do not have chairs set up you do not need a permit for the government. Is it just chairs? So if You put tiki torches in the sand I understand you do not need a permit. Even if it is on a public beach, But then I have heard if it is a private beach you do not need a government permit and you can set up on the beach,, Does anyone know where you obtain a permit and such? thank you! Lisa

I've tried contacting a few wedding officiants over the course of a month and no one seems to reply and yes I know they are receiving them. I can explain if needed. So I'm wondering if there are any good wedding officiants for a symbolic wedding out there? Any one have any luck? And I know it's busy season so people are busy... But that's their JOB. XO Lisa

Which resort are you staying? I contacted a few resorts but everything was preset. I couldn't go for that. One said they charged 300 or each vendor you wanted to bring in on your own. I hear that's the norm in the area so I couldn't imagine paying the officiant and the resort. Crazy! I know it's busy wedding season, but I contacted him several times over the course of a month. I then saw his fb page and commented. It was then that he responded " oh I emailed you back every time." To which I replied. " I have checked my spam and inbox daily and there was nothing received." His response " I'm sorry I must have not sent you an email. Can you give me some time and ill reach out to you." So I waited and waited... I then private messages him on fb and nothing... Whomp whomp whomp. I'm not going to beg him to marry us it's really unprofessional for sure. But I'm sure there are many other good officiants, they probably just don't have a website! Any names?? Xoxo Lisa

Hi everyone so I'm waiting for Grand Coral to update their contract and resend it over to me and I'll have my reception booked, have my accommodations booked, hair and makeup my own, flowers from DAC or similar, table set up Euphoria, dj taken care of, still need a wedding cake but for me I could totally make a boxed cake( yes I said that.) But there is still one thing... An officiant! If you google officiants you will see Noe Camacho. I tried reaching out to him multiple times with no luck. I found his Facebook site ( yes I'm thorough, have planned many events for friends; I'm crafty) he apologized said he was so busy n would contact me this week. Still nothing... At this point I have a bad feeling. If he's that busy now, will he make my day feel rushed? For me the ceremony is the most important part. The emotion the intimacy the promise. Family encircled, feet rooted down onto the earth, no jewelry, no precessional music although I'm planning something else instead, but the real raw union of two people for life. I want my officiant to understand that. If any brides feel the same way then, who are you using to officiant your wedding? It would be an English speaking symbolic ceremony. ( we are legally married but haven't exchanged vows.. We want this to feel real!) Thanks!!!!!!!!!! Lisa

I am beginning to think that I do not want the traditional wedding music during any part of my ceremony. I was thinking that since I am doing more of an intimate, and raw ceremony it would be really awesome to have conch horn blowing being done by possibly two people as I walk down the "aisle". There has got to be a way to find locals with experience that would be willing to help out! I cant imagine I would have to hire through and fire show company to find what I am looking for. Has anyone had any experience with anyone that could possibly be for hire? Thank you so so much! Lisa

Involving Our Children- Unique Ideas?
LisaAnthonyPoppy replied to kmk2016's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Hi I have a 7 year old and a 1 year old. We are honoring them by giving my oldest a watch and saying something special to him and my baby girl a piece of jewelry and saying words to her. Let your heart guide you and you will know how you want to involve them. We are also having our family and guests ( small wedding) stand during ceremony in a circle around us, and a blessing of the rings from each member, we too are not doing a sand ceremony or anything. Good luck! -
That's such a bummer. There has to be a way around hiring a wedding planner. I would hire a wedding planner for like 200 if they could get me a deal on other services. I already know exactly what I want and am hiring my own officiant, dj, and tables and chairs. I just need Grand Coral to tell me, yes they can send me a contract for my wedding date! haha I just have to laugh bc I don't know what else to do!

I didn't get the links you sent to come up. But do you think that they would discount the fee to have wedding on a Tuesday? Or no fee at all if its a small group and they are preparing all food and possibly cake? Thanks! Xo

I have set my wedding date for June 2 2015, but am struggling with the most important part! Getting in contact with anyone from Grand Coral beach club. I called the number on the website and that's the sales office for the condos- I emailed them and heard nothing. It looks like a beautiful place. My wedding is on a Tuesday so I hope I able to get a great deal. I simply could not accept a packaged beach resort wedding. We have 2 children and are inviting only our immediate family and a few friends! An intimate wedding reception is very important and a reception next to the pool in private outdoors is also important, no sand for reception and nothing I doors! Grand coral is the perfect spot! Anyone have contacts? My email is [email protected] Or pm me here! Thanks!!

Hey I know you didn't go with Grand Coral Beach, but do you have a contact person for their weddings? I'm pretty Internet savvy, and I have called the beach club but the person did not speak English and the number on the website is for their condos apparently. A name, email, phone number would be so appreciated!! Thanks!!
