I am, but still have a lot to do!! I kind of just wanna get there and get it all going you know? I was going thru all my emails the other night to print the ones I wanted to bring and I realized I was quoted a price and charged more on my pending invoice - - so hoping they honor the quote. Otherwise most of the stuff with the resort is set, just awaiting to see if my WC can pre-book us an ala carte (it's not included in my package, I asked for a favor!)

Top 20 Cancun Photographers

I filled my tumblers with my oh shit kits so I packed them assembled - lids on but no straws. I actually bubbled wrapped them each individually. You could stack them inside each other for more space and bubble wrap a grouping. So in the suitcase I have cardboard layer, bubbled wrapped cups with more bubble wrap to pack in crevices then a layer of bubble wrap and cardboard then rinse and repeat for another layer. Since I'm in Canada ordering things isn't as easy. I went to 2 dollarama's to acquire my 48 cups. I got clear as that's all they had but I so like the idea of colourful ones too The letters were just stickers from the scrap booking section of the dollar store. To be honest fiancé didn't think it was necessary so I never used them and honestly had forgotten about them until you mentioned it. I did pit them on mine though way back when and put them on the lid. They weren't very big in size. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Sorry about all my autocorrects above lol Hahaha I don't know you personally but you don't strike me as a half sleeve girl. I think they look nice but for a wedding would be hard I agree. What shall we dream of tonight? Shawn just asks I don't wait up screaming as I have before lol when being attacked by large spiders in my dreams. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sunglasses For Oot Bags?

Walmart has 3 packs of tums for like $2.15. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Thanks! Apparently he's been calling awhile as my sisters arrived but he didn't. They reassured him all was ok until yesterday. All they could offer him was the 24 hour urgent service but you can't apply until 24 hours before. So they are working on trying to do that!!! Haha!!! Mine have been odd too. My monster had a uni brow and I was marrying in a bar. A couple nights ago an octopus man was chasing me Let's hope it doesn't rain for either of us!! My forecast was rain free until I checked this am. Won't stress as it's outta my control. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Trying not too,but I would still like to speak to her about it. I only have what the travel agent took from the convo, you know? I have heard about someone else picking up your passport but couldn't find any information online when I did a quick search. If I get her on the phone I will tell her to look into this. I get it on the stress, I have someone who is causing me a lot of stress right now .... don't want to get into it in case she finds this board, but I feel so responsible at this point for how her trip ends up (she is going single). I'm sure it's not her intent, but I don't need the stress!!! My sleep hasn't been great and when I manage to sleep I have dumb nightmares LOL can you say caffeine??

I hate to say this but sometimes I wish people should keep their mouthes shut!!! Just cause she paid less doesn't mean you should have unless you have exact packages and booked on the exact same day, etc. Of course there are variables. My friend posted on FB yesterday about leaving for my resort on Saturday for a wedding. All of us talked a bit and then her friend posted 'yikes I've been there for a wedding'. I asked what her yikes meant and she said 'we all have our own opinions'. When a freaking bride is posting and it's clear as day keep your bad comments to yourself I say unless you have a legit concern to speak up about. All she'd mention is she thought it was too big. Ticked me off. Thankfully we know lots of people Who've been to back it up. Sorry it was disappointing to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Little stress vent... Found out today that my sister's boyfriend hasn't received his passport yet. The travel agent told me, but my sister hasn't. I guess he applied by mail in October and only called them today!!!! It was held up and is in Montreal. They told him they would send it to Calgary but they can't guarantee it will come by Friday - and he would have to arrive in Calgary by car before the passport offices close. I have left her a msg but haven't heard back. I hope he doesn't miss out as no refunds now I hope they decide to still drive to Calgary with all their fingers and toes crossed.

Winnipeg/manitoba Brides?
calgarybride2015 replied to kimmyd2's topic in Canadian Destination Wedding Group
Welcome and congrats! I am a Calgary bride, but I also used Air Canada Vacations. I did things a little bit different, but this is what I did.... I sent out invites about 8 months in advance (mid May), right when we booked our package, so like you everyone had 90 days. On my invitations I only gave basic info (date, time, resort) and I said for all information and to RSVP they should visit our wedding website. I used mywedding.com It's free and very easy to use. On our website I put a lot of info about our resort - our travel agent, the prices, dates, deadlines, good to knows about the resort/travelling, RSVP page, etc. We explained that only 30 seats were guaranteed at that price and it was first come first serve. We also told them if they missed this deal and/or didn't pay their full payment on time they would forfeit the group booking price. I made my RSVP date the same as the booking deadline (mid July). We had to call and send emails to people 1-2 times in the last couple weeks, as MOST people waited until the last couple of days to book. Then after deposits were due, the final payments were due in mid October. Once those were paid, I sent out a pre-travel brochure and luggage tags. We still had people book on their own after but we knew some people where going to be last minute. We gave them an extended RSVP of mid November. Come early December we just everyone else off! In the end we had way more than 30 people book but my travel agent was able to secure them all the same price. Hope that helps. and..... 5 more sleeps!!! -
Legal Marriage At Home
calgarybride2015 replied to LauraM's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
For us we treated it like a step to being married in Mexico. We didn't make a big deal. We did the basic vows that are required by law. No personal vows and no rings. It was very touching and I had to try to not cry but it's good practice for Mexico lol. I kept stumbling on my words. It doesn't feel weird as we aren't referencing as husband and wife and I am not wearing my band - to use Mexico is our wedding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
You are NOT obligated to invite any of them to your wedding other than who was on the invite. I would be quite clear in whatever you decide because that is terribly rude on their part if they think the invite was for everyone! We had some people on fiance's side ask if another one of their cousins and her spouse could come. We didn't deny them coming to Mexico but told them we had to think about if we had room/funds for them at our wedding. In the end we decided to extend the invite then they didn't come anyways HAHHA sigh!!! But we also just had a groomsman who lives in Mexico ask if his daughter could join him and his plus one. He literally asked YESTERDAY when we sent out invites 8 months ago. Seriously, you ask now? We said no that was not possible as we are marrying next week. (what I find odd is that he has a daughter and a son lol)

Why thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
You could hang the garland from any of the main tables - the head table, cake table, or guestbook table. I think you should have a guestbook (don't think you mentioned it) and maybe a couple pictures of the bride and groom. I got my frames from Michaels - they are plastic and 2 sided - 1 side has the table number and the other side of a picture of us. They came in multiple colors. I am also letting the resort supply the linens, chair sashes, etc. I can't can't stomach paying for something like that, even if it is cheaper ---- I would have to lug it down and I would have to try to re-sell it. I am not doing anything on the cake table -- they use the flowers from the ceremony on the cake table and head table. Other than maybe a few cables for the tables, you have some great pieces
