Hey! Welcome and congrats! I am also a Canadian bride who leaves in 12 hours yay!! I had a terrible time finding a travel agent in Calgary, AB. I ended up using one of my friend's friend who is a travel agent. She isn't even in AB - we emailed and talked on the phone. She was awesome. If you end up at a dead end just msg me and I can send you here info. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dollar Days
calgarybride2015 replied to pddcmc's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I don't have any experience but I assume they would be similar to any dollar store. I can't say for certain for this store but I find a lot of dollar stores have the same brands, quality, etc. There were a couple travel sized products stores online I found but shipping to Canada was absurd - http://www.minimus.biz/ or http://www.alltravelsizes.com/ I think amazon has a lot of good deals too!!! -
My coworker used their invites for her wedding invitations and she has no complaints. I'm tempted to buy one to do my thank you carda Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone have their entire playlist?
calgarybride2015 replied to sstotz's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
This is what my resort asked for Bridal party entrance Brides entrance Signing Exit I have no idea if they will play music while people are seated. Doesn't overly worry me as I had a hard enough time picking these songs lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Her boyfriend was paid in full so to them it's still a double occupancy room. If it was at deposit time yes she would have paid more. It's basically like he's there but he's not. That's what travel agent said anyways as the hotel and airline don't lose any money. Thanks so much. I can't wait to tell everyone about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thank you!! I was thinking about you today hope you are feeling fantastic .. And all is well there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Shawn's aunt works at one in Ontario - where it is SUPER hard to find work - they found out on the news they were losing their jobs, Target never told them. Tacky! I would also make sure that the edge/band of that set won't show under your dress. Under my dress it would be glaring but that's the material it is but otherwise it looks like a great solution. and ps - I had one similiar from Ricki's clothing store for under my BM dress and it didn't slip whatsoever. Was quite the scene watching me get it on.

Newly Engaged Canadian Planning Destination Wedding!
calgarybride2015 replied to natalia555's topic in Newbies!!
Welcome and congrats from another Canadian bride! I agree that starting with a good travel agent will be so valuable. The one I used was phenomenal, if you have any troubles finding one and want her info just let me know. I totally recommend you do a lot of your own research to ensure her suggestion for you is what you want. My travel agent recommended quite a few throughout Mexico for us and we did end up with one of hers, but we also priced a lot of our own. You also want to look into their wedding packages, etc. to ensure they are a fit for your wedding as well - it's double sided now, not only do you need a good resort but also a good wedding department & packages. Good luck! I leave in 2 sleeps for my wedding - heheh I love saying that now. -
Hey! Yes my sister is still coming. They had planned to drive here so she scrambled today to find a connector flight. She is very upset and rightfully so. I think she is also worried about being a 3rd wheel and how it will impact her trip, but she has all of us so it will all work out ok. It is such a total piss off, but apparently it happens as you know. It's almost amazing people would do that to someone! For me, it doesn't affect us whatsoever, he is out the money though as he was 100% paid in full. I should let my WC know about the change in persons as I would get a reduction in cost as he doesn't need a plate/open bar. We leave on Saturday AM at 8am!!! I am really starting to get excited now because all my friends and family (over 30 on our flight) all arrive tomorrow!!!!! yay!!! Thanks for thinking of me

Now Amber
calgarybride2015 replied to samantha22's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
I would assume you would cut and paste the link from places like photobucket, like we do on the normal forums/threads, but I honestly can't say forsure. -
Omg who even uses the c word? That would have been friends off for me. Sorry she's a thorn in your side and clearly has some issues of her own. Her reasons aren't reasonable and you shouldn't have to deal. Good for you for taking a break and what's meant to be will be. Stay strong. Hugs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In the end the passport was only a small part of the problem. His work revoked his holidays - long story. Too many people booked on holidays so he's not coming yesterday was the cut off for name changes and he only found out at 10pm last night. I told him to quit and find a new job but he won't lol. Apparently they said they'd reimburse his trip but I'm always skeptical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm 6 Months Out...what Should I Be Doing?
calgarybride2015 replied to rachelia160's topic in Newbies!!
I think you all are on track. I found nothing of mine really started coming together until near the end when I had to make sure it was all taken care of - then things didn't go or seemed incomplete or or or .... and then I started finalizing it all. Also remember the decor doesn't make the wedding!! Remember the beauty of where you are and realistically that you also have to get it there trust me I'm packing right now and it's not easy. Less is better, trust me it will come together from a piece here and a piece there to a finished product. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Legal Marriage At Home
calgarybride2015 replied to LauraM's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Congrats Laura! In Canada we need witnesses. I had asked a close friend and coworker of mine to come to Mexico but she was unable. So we naturally used her and her boyfriend as our witnesses. She is still talking about how honored she is to 1. be asked to stand up for us and 2. that she could be a part of our day in some way even though she couldn't go to Mexico. Win win! -
Hugs! Just wanted to chime in and say I feel for you.... I agree with all of the ladies! It's tough when you put your neck out for someone and offer them such a great deal and they don't think it's enough I would just lay it out for her and stick to your guns. I also agree with Tammy, do you have a single lady to room with her? Good luck!

Sunglasses For Oot Bags?
calgarybride2015 replied to TinkerSofi's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I also overpack with meds, etc. but I know for us anyways most of our guests have never been to an AI, so I have a feeling they will overlook things. I like your idea of giving them a list of what you have on hand...that's great Funny thing with men -- Shawn loved the idea of the hangover kit/oh shit kit, but nothing else hahah that was an easy sell. Since I wanted the tumblers we put the kits inside the cups. Was our compromise. -
If you aren't comfortable going braless (like me!) just go get yourself a strapless bra. I had one at home that was beige/black lace overlay that I used all the way up until about 2 weeks ago when I realized I should get a nude one. So if you do have one on hand don't panic about that - for these fittings anything will work. I do agree though, if you want something underneath like a shaper you should have it before your appt. I can't recall the style of your dress off the top of my head (sorry) .... if you just want some control undies, then I would go out and get a few pairs.. even try them on in the store to ensure they are hugging the parts on your body you want them too (ie I wanted ones to cover up a little bulge on my sides from a scar - I had to try them on to ensure they came up high enough to cover that).... you may find once you get your dress on that they work or don't work, and you can try again. Trust me I bought a lot of undies hahah. I personally also feel the full shaper will be way too warm and uncomfortable in the climate. Also too because dresses (especially strapless) have to fit snug not loose so that will just be added 'constriction' and may be too much. You'd be shocked at what Victoria's Secret carries, check out their website. I think a control panty would work for you though. Good luck!

Eh! Canadian Fiancée Looking For Destination Tips!
calgarybride2015 replied to hopecmbruce's topic in Newbies!!
Welcome from another Canadian bride. I agree with Kayla, a travel agent will be invaluable to you, especially for Canadian packages! -
I totally said that but he actually called them 4-5 times and kept being told to be patient. Yesterday he found out he didn't sign his middle name and it's held up. I don't sign my middle name?? None the less they are driving over night to try to use the 24 hour passport service Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
