My short list was Adventure Photos (resort photog), Samuel Luna and Bohemia Photography. I also liked Dean Sandersan and Bicoastal. In the end I chose Adventure Photos and specifically requested Perla Brambila. She also has her own company. Super happy with the product. I agree that you need to look on their websites and see which ones touch you. Also request prices and package info as that is still super important. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Sounds like a beautiful resort but that is still a rip off I agree. Maybe see what a travel agent suggests you do? Ie wait until February when you are only a year out? Change month? Etc. there are some other brides on here with platinum/diamond star rated resorts for way way less than that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Wow that seams pricey. What types of resorts are you choosing? Is that a group price? We just got married this past Wednesday. Ours was classified as a 5* in the Mayan and Calgary paid $1565 and Toronto $1465. We got some other outrageous ones too for resorts normally in a decent price range. We went with Air Canada Vacations - never once could you find our package cheaper, we got every 17th person free (minus taxes) and a free upgrade to first class. Could also be because you are more than a year out. But I would see if you can find a good travel agent who does destination weddings. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Love love love my photos!!!! Considering the sun and the fear of squinting (which my brother in law says in the price we pay for perfect weather) I am ecstatic to show you them We only got 200 in our package but didn't want to cut it down so paid an extra $100 for them all. I'm currently on the plane (yes nuts!!) but will post a link tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I'm 6 Months Out...what Should I Be Doing?
calgarybride2015 replied to rachelia160's topic in Newbies!!
Don't sweat the small details. In the whole grand scheme of things they don't matter. I wish I had never stressed about frames, vases and signs for the bar, etc. No one (including myself) noticed they were there. The beauty of your location is all you need Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Who Gets Flowers?
calgarybride2015 replied to LauraM's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Honestly our resorts photos kinda sucked too but I may have shed a tear when I saw my bouquet. I couldn't have dreamed anything more perfect for my wedding. Gorgeous. I got my bouquet and bout for fiancé in my package. I purchased 5 more bouts - dad, ring bearer, and 3 groomsmen. I also got the ladies a bouquet and I ordered an extra so in the end we had 4 and could use one on each table as centrepieces. I didn't do anything for any other parents as there are a lot of step parents and wasn't sure where it would end. And honestly they aren't cheap!!! No one noticed or cared. The Rapid Of Declines Rsvps Are Coming In...
calgarybride2015 replied to hellosassypants's topic in Just venting or funnies
Well said. And don't feel cheap, it's actually very true hehe. In the end I was greatfull to the ones who said no and graciously moved on. I hated the drama filled no's and the ones who flat out ignored it. Honestly most people booked in the last 1-2 days so try not to get discouraged yet. I thought we would be the only ones there at one point and had 46 booked (45 attended) in the end. Invites are tricky. I had people flat out tell me now but then be upset when they didn't get an invite. Oh well. I say focus on the ones coming!!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I paid $325. Had it taken out twice, a hem and a French bustle (goes under not up) My dress cost $500 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I got my guests the following: Tumblers Oh shit kits (Advil, pepto, tums, emergen c, band aids, nail file, hand sanitizer, and mentos) Tumblers and Meds were all used and people asked for more. Bandaids were used. Can't say forsure about the sanitizer or nail files. I got my girls beach bags and all of them were used. They were larger ones that also could hold towels. Hind site I would have gotten each room one. I also got fans for the ceremony chairs. Unsure if they were used, as the ceremony is a blur but we didn't have any in the wedding office the next day when we picked up our stuff. Not an oot, but maracas were a HIT. I wonder if this is actually Adventure Photos?!? I used them for our Wednesday wedding and I am very impressed with her work. I know they are labelled as a resort photographer and that made me nervous but not all of them 'suck'. What I did was look at all the work they sent me and asked who shot the work I liked. Then I requested her. She did a fantastic job and I can't wait to share my pics for your ladies when we get home!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How Many Days Before Are You Arriving?
calgarybride2015 replied to MissFrench's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
We arrived on Saturday and married on Wednesday. Originally we had planned to arrive Sunday but the airline cancelled the flight. It was perfect. We only met with the wedding coordinator for 1 hour tops. Didn't take too much away from anything. We met her the Monday am. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Sneak peak from friend's camera. I'm eager to see the photographers. It was blaring hot and sooo sunny so I know we were fighting squinting. She moved us around a lot to help with that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

My seamstress took my dress out twice and I only got charged one. I wasn't at a bridal shop though and unsure if that makes a difference. My lady took my dress out between the 1 and 2 fitting and did a temp hem to see if I liked it. Also bustle was done. All she did a between the 2 and 3 was take it out again. At 3 I approved everything and it was all final (completed hem stitching) at pick up. It may not have needed a 4 but I forgot my sandals one time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Everything is fantastic. I love it all. Those shoes are to die for!!! I was also going to suggest photobucket as you can just post the URL into the body off your msg and the picture shows up. . The tumblers are being used a lot here by my guests. I am glad I lugged them all down. The oh shit kits have also been successful. I got my BMs beach bags and they love them, so for brides wondering re bags I think if I had a do over I would get everyone one. Great job!!! April isn't too far away. Hey guys. Taking some downtime as late nights, lots of booze and sun is exhausting. Some news -- lots of uneven and un-repaired (loose) bricks on the pathways. Well my 67 year old dad who is already uneasy on his feet tripped on one and broke his finger which needed stitches and he broke a rib good lord. Unsure what's come of it hotel wise but they fixed him all up at the hospital. Hopefully no more broken bones. Otherwise having a blast. Tomorrow is the big day!!! Had my hair trial yesterday and man they are fantastic stylists. I looked awesome so excited to have it done tomorrow. Bye for now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Well the time has come!!! I must laugh, the only night I should be excited and can't sleep, I finally sleep and it's so short as we gotta get to the airport. I've been dreaming about this day for 8 months and never thought it would come!! Time goes so quick and for all you waiting, it will be here before you know it. I couldn't have done any of this without all of you - thank you ladies for everything!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
