  1. It hurts. I only had 2 bills in Mexico in USD and I cried when I saw the conversion. Pay for whatever you can in peso - ie TIPS I even recommend asking if they offer it in Mexican currency (spas, gift stores, etc). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. We did ok without free wifi or walkie talkies but walkie talkies would have been nice lol. Once we got out groove everyone knew the popular meeting places. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Nah it's perfect for a beach wedding and stunning!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yay!!! That's awesome Congrats!!! Is that in Jamaica? Sorry if I'm totally wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Good choice, it is beautiful. If you click in my planning thread below in my signature I posted some pictures on the second last page. Also a link to all of them on Facebook. I used Perla who is apart of Adventure Photos who is the resort photographer. I am super happy I used her. I will post my review soon!!
  6. I agree. It is very hard to sit and wait. I was in the same boat. At one point I assumed no one was coming but then 44 did. 6 weeks is still a lot of time, though it's hard to see. I kid you not that almost all of our guests booked in the last 1-2 days. We sent out a reminder email/text about 2 weeks before and then 1 week before. We just reminded them that the booking deadline was xx and after that the price would be gone and no spots could be guarenteed. I then went on those numbers and ordered a few extra favors, etc. We had 4 or 6 people book last minute but our final cut off was about 1.5 months before or when I ran out of seats (didn't want to start a 5th table). We actually had to turn down 2 people but that came up only 4 days before we left!!! You can only do so much but I know how stressful and frustrating it is. Hang in there. 7. Some airliners don't have closets but definitely call and find out. The closet on our plane was short so even though it was hung up the train was bunched up the whole way. My friend brought a travel steamer for us that came in super handy. I was hoping humidity would work but I think Our rooms were just to chilled From the AC. The steamer worked like a charm. No one questioned me having a dress as an additional carry on and I think most airlines would be the same. Although my airlines website stated the same about it being carry on size. I feel strongly this will be a non issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I had people bugging for photos lol.. I had them before I left so I didn't have a large excuse not too. Took forever though. What's best about the flowers -- they were included in our package. The colors together turned out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Thanks everyone!!!
  9. Did the link work for you? The only 'annoying' thing is that my sign was flipping all over with the wind, sooooo it rarely ever said 'best day ever' haha but such is life. Hindsite I shouldn't have cheaped out on that (did cardstock not chipboard)
  10. Thanks! As you can see by the end of the photos we were very sweaty! That sucks, but as you can appreciate it is soooo hot there and there was next to no air flow thru the palapa once the wind died down. That is Shawn's uncle and he was playing the spoons! I have some photos on our camera of the wedding coordinator and servers teaching us Mexican dances (ie line dancing to Billy Ray Cyrus in spanish LOL).... Will post some more once I have the energy to go thru them all.
  11. It is soooooo hard to decide which ones to post. I will post a large handful of my faves here then let you visit my facebook photo album if you want to see more She took some great shots of everyone and then of my items!! Thankfully between her and all our guests we have just about a picture of everything. These are the professional ones - we have some wild party ones that I will post once I go thru all the photos!!! Including jumping into the pool!!! We had a blast. https://www.facebook.com/kim.deakin.902/media_set?set=a.10155152994200385.719990384&type=3
  12. Thanks! I may just post a link to facebook because I can't decide which ones to post My photography package was $1600 and I paid $1979, can you say 'WTF'? lol ugh
  13. My resort uses peso or Canadian!! the only things I had to pay in US dollars was the photographer and dolphin excursion. Maybe yours will too? or are they clear it is in US dollars? I also tipped in pesos and just ensured it was what I would have paid in Canadian. Noone said a word, but probably because you had to force them to take the tip, they didn't want them!
  14. Sorry to hear about the hangers. I used an Etsy seller if you are interested in the name - I believe it was whiskeyweddingbells. They did fabulous. Unfortunately I left it with the seamstress, then packed it in my suitcase and it was a little bent out of shape. It still did it's job but it's definitely more for pictures than using. You will see it when I post my pictures. Glad everything else is coming along!!!! It will be here before you know it.... It's so hard to believe and super sad we are home already. Spending a week in paradise with all your close family and friends is a trip of a lifetime..then to get married, wow... tearing up just thinking about it all.
  15. I also wanted to say that the luggage tags were used by almost everyone. The ones who didn't wish they had, as it was very easy to identify luggage!
  16. I wasn't messy but I was more than tipsy. Other than the odd thing I remember everything. It would have been hard to say no - the servers were phenomenal and no one was without a drink. I may have been tipsy at the cake cutting but it got out of hand after lol. We had a freaking blast and I wouldn't change it for the world. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I've heard of those honeymoon sites too. I just declined gifts but we still got quite a lot. One gift card, a few wedding type gifts (holder for our marriage certificate, etc) and oodles of money. Bless their heart, so generous. It didn't pay for our wedding but it paid for all our excursions, extra fees at resort, and then some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. What things did you wish you would have re arranged? I sat at the head table and laughed I worried about vases and frames lol. We had a few minor blips but I will post about those. Very minor. They have wifi. I had to pay and it's pricey but on a 6 hour flight it keeps me entertained. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Agree. But for me I honestly was shocked at how much my type A didn't get in the way. The only thing I worried about was the hair appt time but I changed that myself and I am glad I did lol. We started at 10 and arrived back at about 130. That said the girls all decided to have makeup done and then we had lunch at the spa restaurant. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Mine is all over but the hem is black!!! I love how in our photos it goes from perfect to sweaty to drunk hahahah. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. It was I must admit we had a lot to drink and partied hard like at your wedding. There are some priceless photos. My dress is sooooo dirty lol. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Best thing I brought? Snorkelling sets for the kids. We spent more time at the pool than the beach and they used them there. They never got out of the pool and their swimming skills grew 100%. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Our friend taped ours on their go pro and I can't wait to see it. I definitely want to relive it. I can remember hearing some music but didn't enjoy my choices lol. I was sooooo nervous. I did my own TTD. I jumped in the pool. Hahahaha ok pics aren't great as there was no light but we had a blast doing it. If I had to choose TTD or video. I'd go video.
