I also don't get the whole thing of dictating what they wear. We just asked for no swim suits and for those who wanted more we said anything you'd wear to a nice restaurant. Our men wore shorts so of course that was ok for our guests. Most people have brains enough to know what is acceptable or not. Thinking back though we had quite a few of the older men in pants. They must have been dying as it was hotter than hell out. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had 3 suitcases for wedding items and 3 for personal between our family of 4. Thankfully all that baggage was included as we had a free upgrade to first class. I had a large suitcases of tumblers with oh shit kits inside. I had another small carry on size suitcase of maracas and then another large suitcase of treasure chest, vases. Frames, candle holders, etc. Nothing was breakable. I didn't purchase any linens or sashes etc. Either used what was included or rented from the resort. I got my maracas from Amols. I then used a sharpie to add our wedding info Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

calgarybride2015 replied to girlinthecity97's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
My cake was 2 tiers and I had 45 people total. Most of us had seconds as it was super tasty and we had a slice or two left over. I love cake though so I'm never full haha. We had dinner at 530/600 ish and cake at 800. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

What did you change your colors too? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Who is your resort photographer? I used ours - adventure photos - and was over The moon about my pictures. All I can is it's not just one photographer. It's many so not all of them should get the 'eww it's a resort photographer' bad rap. Some are very talented. What I did was look thru all the pics they sent me and requested the name of who did the work. Then I requested that lady to shoot my Wedding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is rude. I makes no sense to me, especially when you ask a direct question and get no response. I lost a few friendships since being engaged - one whom I thought was my best friend. But since I walked away from the madness I don't feel I've lost anything in my life which says a lot. I've decided to focus on the ones who did come and/or couldn't but still Hugely supported us as they are the ones worth the time and effort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

awe I loved seeing your pics again I left almost everything in Mexico!! I took out my photos, but they wanted my signs and seating charts, etc. to re-create for their promotional stuff??? they can't use them for another wedding with our info on them hehe! I brought home the extra maracas as souvenirs for friends here, the cake topper, and the ring bearer shell. I put them in my memory chest

Thank you! I will put this in my review, but this is the only thing I say to be aware of.... The WC does your final bill and sends you upstairs to the lobby to pay for it. This bill DOES NOT have your $500 deposit as a deduction on it. Apparently it is supposed to be on your account as a credit. Well I went up to pay and had totally forgot about it. When I was about to swipe my card it dawned on me and I asked and no it was not on there!!!! So I didn't pay and went back to the weddings office. It was rectified immediately but if I hadn't had thought to ask I wouldn't have gotten that back! Just a heads up! I also recommend to always check your bill thoroughly before paying. Due to people with very similar names we got charged for others wifi, they took it off when we complained, but just be sure you are paying for your own stuff.

What I would and wouldn't do again...
calgarybride2015 replied to gkashmira's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Agree 100%. I sat at the head table and thought that to myself. All the little things I thought were a big deal, weren't. I do realize we all have an idea of what is a big deal and what isn't - for me it was all the stressing over frames and vases, etc. haha I brought blotting cloths and I brought a compact, I totally forgot I had them! At the reception I used a napkin to dab my face! I met with the photog the night before and she suggested I put together a list of all my must have family/group photos and any else. Thankfully I did and I gave it to my MC (he was a fill in as the original MC lost his voice lol). OMG he rawked - he was wrangling people and calling out names and it made everything go so much smoother and quicker! He did awesome the whole night. I didn't even really have a plan for the reception and he made it all happen - entrance, speeches, guests introduced themselves, etc. It wouldn't have been the same without him. -
I'm 6 Months Out...what Should I Be Doing?
calgarybride2015 replied to rachelia160's topic in Newbies!!
It was nice to have my guestbook table stuff and some small centerpieces, don't get me wrong but I stressed HUGELY over them and it wasn't necessary. Just do what you can, what you have room for, etc. The beauty of Mexico goes a long ways I had the glow sticks and funny open bar sign on the bar. No one saw them as the servers were that good. Funny - they actually thought the glow sticks were straws. Hahaha I realized that quickly when I saw one in my friends drink so we just handed them out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I can't see on my phone but you are a January wedding no? If yes then the time will be changed back by next January. Here in Canada anyways the time only changes for a certain amount of months and not Forever. We got married at 3pm and yes it was hot and bright from the sun. Sure it posed challenges BUT it was that hot and sunny at 330 and 400 too lol. I could have probably been safe to start at 330 but I needed 2 hours plus for the photos and I was scared if we ran late we would lose the light. I don't regret my decision. The only squinting photos are group ones and sun or Not it's hard getting people doing everything at the right time anyways. Does anyone know when this time Change ends? Totally! you could always ask and see what they say. I also love the tiny beads over the zipper look too! For me, corset would have been the safest bet haha! Thankfully we got it done up, but we tore the top eye/hook closure trying to do so....the seamstress had put 3 on to be safe (top, middle, bottom) hahahahaha!!!! she wasn't a dummy!

That actually sounds like a fantastic price when compared to mine Wonder if it plays into it how long things actually take - ie, maybe a corset back isn't much longer time wise than taking a dress out, etc. awesome!
