  1. Sorry you had a crappy experience with Sunwing. I love Sunwing and have never had an issue.
  2. I know a lady who paid $1400 there this past November. Always seems to be luck of the draw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. She already did. I'll try to find it she married in August. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I never talked to anyone but fiancé about pics. We decided what specific pics we wanted done and the MC made sure the right people were in them. He announced we would be doing shots and not to venture off because everyone would be in a few pics. Worked well. One person missed a family shot but once we realized that we redid it. For that part of the photos we did a large group shot, ones with parents, ones with the larger family (so all aunts, uncles, cousins, etc for each side) then we had one with all my girlfriends and him with his man friends. That type thing. We didn't do specific individual shots with every single person until the reception -- we don't have one with every single person individually so I'm happy we did all Those group shots early on. Ps - also remember all your guests will be snapping pics like mad. So focus your time with photographer on those super special pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm a perfectionist and quite OCD/type A but I let it go. I think that's part in parcel Why everything went perfect. No expectations. She got it all right minus the tables/chairs at the cocktail hour. But she even did extras (I didn't pay for the isle runner, lanterns, etc). The tables weren't set up exactly as I envisioned - she grouped the candles and didn't spread them out but who cares. No one notices them and you can't let something so silly ruin your day. I'm proud of myself for that Pictures wise. I think if you take atleast 20 mins for you and hubby your timeline is great. Just ensure that your MC or designated friend knows what pics need to be done and things need to move quickly. You can fit lots in when it's not a cluster *** lol. Cocktail hour for us was so people had a drink and could mingle while we had pics done. We were secluded so they couldn't easily go and freshen up. That's another reason we opted for the mariachi to entertain them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Very!!! Love it. We went to the keg last night as a little honeymoon haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hehe Laura. I heard the song today and totally thought of you and this thread Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I have favorite photos from every part of the day. We had 1.5 hours from end of ceremony to dinner. That included group and family shots. It was a perfect amount of time. Depends what you want. Do I need all 285? No but I don't regret them. If you have time to get some shots of just the two of you after I think you'll be good. Are you doing pics from 720-815? 9. We had a buffet and it was all served at once. They re filled it as needed. Was delicious. I skipped the corn lmao Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Well thankfully Shawn said the most of it. I would have cried. So I introduced myself like everyone else did, said a few funny bits of highlights during the week (memories we had already made), then thanked them and said 'Shawn said it well' Giving the MC the photos was the smartest decision I made. I did it at like 11pm the night before on my photographers advice. You are literally in your own world being pulled all over and you would never on your own remember to get all the photos you want done.
  11. Honestly it was a blur, but I just remember the MC introducing our first dance. I think the song started as we walked out onto the dance floor. So by the time we were in place to dance the lyrics started. We kind of were being jokers first and did a grade 8 style slow dance lol then took it seriously! We didn't practice our dance at all, even though I asked, but it didn't matter. Personally whatever happens, it is perfect. This stuff just works itself out.
  12. I think our timeline was perfect. there was a blip at cocktail hour when they didn't set up our tables/chairs on the beach so people stood or made their own seats on rocks, but that didn't ruin anyone's time. haha I was probably the only one who noticed they weren't there. Since my dad got hurt at the resort earlier in the week I questioned the table/chairs and she ran to get my dad a seat and refunded our money,. Nonetheless, this was our timeline: (somewhat, the day is a blur) 3:00pm-3;15pm ish ceremony (wow it was short and sweet) 3:15pm-3:30pm everyone said their congrats and the MC gave a quick toast 3:30pm-4:00pm group photos (if my MC hadn't have taken the reins and got people organized it couldn't have happened that fast!!) *I recommend having someone in charge of this and give them a list of photos you want to have done* 4:00pm-5:00pm - guests had the mariachi band and open bar with appies on the beach, we did some bridal party photos, then our solo photos as bride/groom 5:00pm people entered the palapa and were seated, then the MC did our entrances. 5:10pm ish we did our speeches and they did a funny toast to the bride/groom (actual toast (bread) pictures if you saw our wedding photos) 5:30pm ish we ate dinner 6:15pm ish??? Everyone introduced themselves and said something sweet, may have turned into an AA meeting haha was hilarious. Then Shawn and I said thank you to everyone. 6:30pm first dance, then parent dances (we did these together) THEN PARTY!!! the DJ was awesome, the dance floor was always full. 8:00pm we did a quick cake cutting/photo opp, then the photographer took photos with anyone who wanted them taken with us before she left at 830pm. (got some great shots! super glad my MC announced this) 8:30pm-11:00pm PARTY!!! Our timeline worked well and was amazing. The only battle was the sun, but it's the price we pay for beautiful weather my brother in law says! Our MC was a fill in as our regular MC lost his voice. I gave him a general timeline but all that took place was because of him. He made the night what it was and I am forever indebted to him! EDIT: Thankfully our servers and bartenders were top notch. I think my sister told me in that 1 hour open bar on the beach she was served 5 drinks LOL!!! Noone had time to go to the bar at the reception because the waitstaff had one ready for you the second you were done the first. They were unreal!
  13. This was our first dance song and fiancé picked it too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I agree. I stressed about this stuff and in the end it didn't matter. Mexico is beautiful and I forgot that. I did have stuff on each table - vase with flowers, frame, and candles and honestly, it was more than enough. Save your money for things that will mean more and things that will create memories. 15. I never booked an outside vendor but I did look into some. If it's been weeks with no response id personally cross them off my list and say they don't want my business and/or aren't the right company for me. With the photographers I emailed I think 2-3 days was the longest I waited. Their response was super fast. The resort had their moments of it taking a week or more but for a vendor that should want to secure your business I don't think I personally could stomach waiting a couple weeks or more, especially if Other vendors / contenders reply quicker. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thank you! I'm actually now using it as my wedding memory box and have all my favors, cards, guestbook, etc in it. I kept one of everything I gave to the guests. I bought the treasure chest type box from Walmart for $15. I just printed a map of Mexico I found on google and cut to size and attached with double sided tape super easy!! I added the heart and 'mail' sign after. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. It was very windy at my ceremony! I didn't do paint or sand or a veil or hair down lol and all of those would have been flying in the wind!!! Thankfully for it though or we would have been even more hot than we were Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I just deleted my wedding website and it was kind of sad I will start working on my review soon! Still trying to unpack and get everything tidied up around home!
  19. Just jumping in. We had scheduled 'getting ready shots' for 1 hour. By the time she came from the boys room we had maybe 45 mins. I'm trying to recall if I actuallyhad the whole 45 mins as I know the shuttle came for our 3pm ceremony and it Takes 10 mins but did we start on time? Lol. So my feelings are if you want only 30 mins it will work if it's a full 30 mins of pictures. If half of that is getting you to the ceremony/ first look site you may be disappointed. She took some getting ready, some of my special items, some of me and the girls and some of me alone. These are some of my most favorite shots. I think you'll appreciate them too I had the opposite problem. They wanted us to start at 11 for 3pm. And I made them switch it to 10!! Which a small lunch in there we didn't get back to the room until 130-140 and photographer came for 215 ish. Thankfully I changed my times. I had 4 of us for hair and makeup. 20. Well said! You will quickly learn who your true friends and loved ones are. It was a hard and painful experience at times for us too, but looking back I grew a lot as a person, rid myself Of drama/people that really shouldn't have been in my life and grew/fostered the right relationships 150%. Now that I've been home a week I think about our time in Mexico and know we did the right thing. It was all I could ever have dreamed of and more. Our guests had a blast and we got so many compliments on it being the best wedding they'd ever been to and being there for a week with friends and family was more than they'd ever realize it would be. So while I know it sucks to have this guilt (we all do) trust in what you and fiancé want Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That's a wicked price. Where you flying out of? Congrats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Awesome. I've never heard of it I think we paid $160 at David's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hope you can see the pic. They are a mix of small and medium. But not super small. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I'm sure you could just give them your song and they will play it thru their system. No I just assumed they'd have them. Maybe email and ask for a color list / picture of all their colors for the sashes and fabrics. They can do 8 or 10 and just have the appropriate sized table depending on what you choose. I think she said they can do 6 but prefer not. Also you can do long tables. I had tables of 9 and 10. The head table was for 8. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
