Awesome and I'll be honest. Your ceremony site doesn't need anymore than you've planned - trust me. Breathtaking. Don't kill the scenery with decor is what I say what you've decided on is gorgeous. Thanks guys!! It's not a top quality book and maybe that's why @@TinkerSofi. I think I'm just most disappointed but also amused at the wrong pics lol. Since I can have my own made and do the work with the company I can review it before it's printed. This may have solved the incorrect pics. But I totally stand by don't pick your photo book pics the same day you see your pics for the first time - so overwhelming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hola! Our photo book came today from Mexico I'm a little disappointed though and thought I would give a few tips to any brides who have one included in their package!! First off I realize this isn't my photographers fault as she doesn't make the book, but for whoever does it would have been nice for them to crop pictures as needed so they fit properly isn't the space provided. My group shot is missing 3 people on the edge Some pics would be better quality if larger - like the ones I was given on disc. Some aren't in focus now that they are smaller and I don't wanna show people because they appear to be low quality. Now for the tips 1. Don't pick your photos on the spot - look thru them, leave and process them and come back to choose. I've come to love certain pictures that I left out of the book 2. Double check the photos - lol - on our ceremony page we have us signing which would have been nice if we chose the GROOM signing , but no we chose the best man Bahahah it's kinda funny but a complete fail all around. My aunt got us a gift certificate for a photo book so I can get another just kinda sucks!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yay!!! Loved reading it all. Nosey Kim would love to know what that first resort choice was I love your invites. Mine felt amateur too but to most they've never seen such a thing. You did great I also booked my wedding day first then once it was confirmed - 2 days later - our TA signed the contract we had from air Canada that was good for 30 Days. Id be scared to do It the other way around. Yay!!! Can't wait for more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We only did what the minister had planned. Very short. We only said 'I do' I thought it would be a repeat after me thing but it wasn't. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome Party!
calgarybride2015 replied to yasminea84's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
If you plan to go off the resort I suggest you ensure all your guests are ok with that. Also if you do a catamaran or something if people are ok on boats. We has some guests who've never been to Mexico and one wouldn't leave the resort whatsoever as she was too scared. In the early stages I almost considered our redemption on a catamaran but too many guests scared of boats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 11 replies

Canadians get better packaged deals. So would make a difference if you are comparing prices of USA vs Canadian. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are a good handful of photographers in the Mayan that come in under $2500. I did a lot of research myself. I ended up going with Perla Brambila / Adventure Photos (my resort's photographer) but if you want some recommendations I would suggest (in addition to the ones above) Samual Luna, Bohemia Photography, Dean Sanderson.

Welcome Party!
calgarybride2015 replied to yasminea84's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
We were at a resort and a welcome party wasn't included. So we just all met in the lobby bar the first night and I handed out the OOT items. People just mingled as the bar was to loud to do introductions. We did a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding but it was only for the bridal party and family --- maybe if I had known the bar was that loud I may have pushed for this to be all our guests. It wasn't included in our package either but our WC did us a nice favor. I've heard of white parties, cigar rolling parties, s'more bonfires on the beach. You could do a picture taking scavenger hunt. Maybe a fire show. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 11 replies

I thought it was common you asked someone to MC like you ask people to be in the bridal party Another thought if the DJ doesn't work out but does your resort offer MC services. It was an extra on our price list for our resort. Hopefully the DJ works out. Edit - maybe it's a Canadian thing to ask a guest to MC?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You are doing great!! Do you have a Fossil outlet in Edmonton? if you do, I think you can find a very nice watch for $120 each. I would assume that The Bay would have some similar prices and they always have sales. I purchased the cheap colorful sunglasses for my bridal party and I am so glad I finally decided to do this. Not only were they needed because the sun was blaring, but they made for some great pics Now that I have been there, done that, you may be surprised at how many people don't care you got legally married in Canada. My aunt asked me about this before we left and she suggested that we do it at home for ease. I told her we were undecided. It came up numerous times in Mexico from guests and people were like 'oh just make it legal back home' when I said we were still undecided (hahah I suck)... so with that said, I think people would understand.

Could you not have a guest be an MC if that is your concern? We used the resort DJ and he did great playing music and keeping everyone dancing but our MC (my brother in law) kept the flow going, made sure all the must haves happened, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ya so soon now, when do you fly out? I feel you on the clothes, you kind of forget about all that stuff in wedding planning mode. I scrambled for myself and for some items for my kids.

I heard too because of the economy things may change for the buyers edge. But I have no idea as I don't follow this stuff. Good luck with getting your possession date. North side like you solely for our work. Shawn works all over Calgary but his new office is by Calaway. I have seen some decent prices in Evanston but I really don't want a $2000/m mortgage Maybe country hills area or hidden valley if we decide to go 'used'. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Prices are interesting. We also priced out the Coba and it came back over $2000 PP for the 7 night all inclusive package (I think your packages work similar to ours) After the fact though, I am also happy with the GS. Sometimes the posts from the other GBP brides seemed it was a bit disorganized and I never felt that way with my planning. I do believe it is different for everyone though and luck of the draw! I got the 2014 prices as I booked then, I assume the same for you? GS is closer to Cancun than the GBP there is another plus LOL!!!

Thank You Card Question
calgarybride2015 replied to calgarybride2015's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Thank you! I also agree that it kind of seems awkward, but I wasn't sure what was proper or not. I agree that only the ones of wedding pictures should be for the people who attend. I have some generic cards from Michaels I can use for the rest. I never even thought to send out thank yous after I got those gifts before, doh! haha! better late than never I guess -
I was never able to find them online for the Sirenis either. I just used their basic email and addressed them to Perla. hahah! Probably annoyed the other guys who worked there. The email is <[email protected]> If you make no headway with that, she had a Facebook page for her personal company and I am sure you could probably contact her that way - she seems pretty reasonable!!! Yes, I had a convo with another bride yesterday that one of the decor packages for the ceremony was $3000 (yes you read that right)... I only paid $5500 for my whole wedding!!!
