Flying With Rings
calgarybride2015 replied to LisaAnthonyPoppy's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We had planned to do this up until the morning of and it just went into my bag and didn't cross my mind. Thankfully we were ok -- my bag was done up and went thru the xray machine that way so I would have seen them open it. I get the fear though but it's that fear with everything - visa, iPhone, iPad, camera, etc. Etc. I don't think it's taboo to wear them and if that makes you more comfortable I would do it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I also appreciate honesty but there is tonnes to see in foot in Mexico or any country Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I had a sister like this. I have enough next pay day to put down my deposit, oh it'll be after this or that and 90 days later my aunt had to pay her deposit. There will always be one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any other brides of 2016? Do we need to prepare now?
calgarybride2015 replied to 27dress's topic in Newbies!!
I used air Canada so I have no advice. But I know their promos always change too. Also depends on the size of your group and first come first serve. Ie I got first class but if it was already full when I booked I was SOL. Glad you get some nice extras. Priority boarding was a treat in Mexico as it was super busy there. I agree. For the amount of times I've bought new cars I've never got any promos - like a trip to Vegas lol. Luck of the draw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I love your reception on the boat!! We once pondered that idea but too many people scared of boats! Lol That's what I did with my BM bouquets and I ordered an extra to have enough. The stems were too long so my WC cut them down after the ceremony to fit in the vases I had brought. If you find something non breakable it's possible he won't notice as they can be shoved in anywhere hehe. Flowers seem to cost the most. If you skipped flowers would they rent you a vase? That should be cheaper OR maybe ask if they have a large glass/drinking cup that could be used as a vase. As I imagine your bouquets aren't huge by any means. Haha that may be a terrible suggestion but throwing out ideas. Also if you wanna add a pop of color to the table yourself those decorative beads/gems are a great idea and cheap!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk More thoughts lol You can also bring 2 carry ones each. I had a large personal bag and a roller suitcase. That's a good way to get more baggage for free. I flew ACV but I assume most are similar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Refresh my memory. Is the reception right on the boat or is this an excursion as side from the wedding? Edit - reception on boat. In that case I can see you paying the cost if it's too much to bring down! If it was an after party I'd say no. There is no way you can bring some of the decor yourself? Mine took no room as they were flat (vases popped up) and nothing was breakable. Also can you use your BM bouquets as centerpieces if they have them? Just trying to help. Room Changes And Prices
calgarybride2015 replied to Smellsey's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I'm starting this post over. As my last one just wasn't coming out right. I see it from both sides. It's tough because she doesn't have a plus one and with that a singles cost is just more - name of the game with most places. But I see your struggle to help as she is older in age. Ideas? 1. Maybe have her find a travel mate (neice/nephew, someone's grand kid, friend) 2. Ask if the grandparents would pay a bit more to have a suite with her 3. Maybe you or your parents can help pay the difference? Usually I would leave that up to them but given the age I see your point. Our singles knew their cost would be higher that's why we offered everyone a plus one.- 3 replies

Depends on your airline and their current promotions. I got every 17 person free but before I booked it was every 11!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I felt this way too!!! The last month was super stressful. I was so over everything and never wanted to see ribbon and paper cutters again You'll get thru it and when it's all over you can sit back and laugh at yourself like I did Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Cake Flavors - Karisma Resorts
calgarybride2015 replied to girlinthecity97's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I think you will be fine as you aren't bringing it on the resort to use at a celebration on site. I see it no different than leaving the resort to tour and bringing back snacks and/or leftovers. Stick it in a box and then in a plastic bag and no one will even know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Congrats! Sorry to hear about your cat I can see why you see these are interwining events... although you lost a life, you are starting a new life at the same time. I love your ring, so beautiful. I look forward to seeing what you finally chose for your resort in the end. Know you haven't gone mad, this is the hardest part! I must have went back and forth soooo many times I was probably driving my TA mad! Good luck!

Hi Tara! Thanks for the questions My trip was perfect. I won't lie and I will tell you that my dad got hurt. He tripped on an uneven stone on the walk way, when he fell be broke a rib and a finger. Yes it sucked! but that said, that can happen anywhere. I just warn of some of the uneven stone and marble is also slippery when wet! I personally wouldn't hesitate to go back to the resort. Other than my dad and a negative nelly friend EVERYONE loved their week and we still talk about it daily! I would say it's a very strong 4.5* but since the wifi and in room safes aren't free, I can't give it a 5*. Service was top notch though and worth the 5* rating. I would not have changed one thing - I LOVED everything about our trip and our wedding day was more than I could have ever dreamed of. These people know weddings and they don't price gouge to give you that dream day. The only reason we didn't do the presidential package was because there was A LOT of extras we didn't need and it only includes 10 people - so we still had 35 more people to pay for. That just put it way to far outside of our budget. We did take the free package (10 double rooms booked for 7 nights - otherwise it was the silver package) and we upgraded to the palapa. The upgrade is approx. $980 (based on exchange - and this was also 2014 pricing). When you upgraded your location though you pay for everyone - you don't get the 10 free. Food is the same no matter if you upgraded to the palapa or get it as a part of the presidential package. We chose the BBQ menu buffet solely based on cost and we got A LOT of compliments on it. I don't regret not paying more for the surf and turf plated meals. The buffet also allowed people as much food as they wanted. Also using the free package and upgrading allowed us to just upgrade with what we wanted. We did a lot of extras - mariachi, cocktail hour, 3 extra hours of reception, etc. I have no problem giving you a detailed list of what we had at our wedding and what we paid for it. We sat around $5500 - $6000. I think your TA can TRY To get you into the same area but at the end of the day I think most resorts just fit you where there is room. We went when the resort was sold out, so moving people around was annoying and complicated but worked out in the end. We were on the Riviera Maya side and if you want close to the pool for that side, I suggest room blocks 11-14ish. We had guests between 11-17. I was in 12 and LOVED the location. Not far from anything, I may have been disappointed if we were 14-18. I can't speak for the Mayan Beach side as we only had guests on that side who upgraded to have ocean view rooms. We didn't upgrade because I wanted to be close to our guests. I have the extras price list for 2014 that I can send you for an idea, but I wouldn't know for certain (but would assume) that the prices would have increased for 2015. I was married in 2015 but since I booked in 2014 I got those prices. PM me your email address I wouldn't have imagined marrying at the GS without the palapa, I highly recommend this location. Good luck

I don't think having breakfast together can be classified as a first look. Hahah I had bed head and no makeup on. The first look to me is when you are done up and in your dress. Husband doesn't feel eating breakfast together ruined that moment whatsoever. He was blown away. Saw the video last night awe so wonderful to re live it all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Everyone is different and it depends what you are comfortable with. We didn't care either way and just wanted people to come to Mexico!! So we declined if people asked - not many people asked though lol. That said in Mexico we did get some very generous gifts mainly money. Most of the gifts we received back home were from coworkers.
