  1. Awesome deal on the hangers. Hopefully they make it safely. Mine got bent up a bit FYI but we bent it back into place Soooooo close. So excited for you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Nah 4 days is great and was my Original plan. Our flight got changed to a day earlier. I couldn't imagine arriving Saturday and marrying Monday! Or even Tuesday if you wanted a hair trial and welcome party and such. No time to get your bearings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Oh most definatley. I know for me some of my flower selections (colors) were last minute. You wouldn't want it too quick anyways as you need to settle in and calm down!!! Knowing what I know now on day 2 or 3 would have been way way to quick!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Welcome! Congrats on your wedding. I don't have experience with Riu so I hope those brides chime in. I did wanna say though - the resort should still answer all these questions for you. When they mention the WC, that's the lady who will be present on your day and make all final selections and details with you. You should still have contact with the resort though -- responses may be slower but they have to be able to answer questions. I suggest you shoot them an email too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Yup! I just said that above too!! I think ours was that too but I married on day 5 so wasn't an issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I wonder if it's more that the resort needs time to prepare your selections with the vendors?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. We didn't do vows. But husband said 'I do' before me. Also he put my ring on first then I put his on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Agreed! And when that day is over in a flash and you worry if you spent enough time with everyone you don't have to panic -- you still have a couple / few days after to spend with them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hey! Hahaha ohhh doesn't that vistaprint story sound familiar!!!! I had to have my pre travel brochures reprinted. Pissed me off All looks great! Great idea for the sand pouring. You can add some ribbon or something and you are good to go. Ceremony is great! Won't be over in under 10 like mine hahaha I tried jam berries for the first time this week. Neat idea and so much cheaper than gel nails. Can't wait to see it all come together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It's so weird actually doing it. I got my new bank card I had to sign so I sat at the desk signing on paper before I signed it hahaha. So odd remembering to use my new initials. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I agree re: Shutterfly. I used them for my thank you cards. Since we are in Canada the exchange is pricing and shipping took over 3 weeks! I used those labels for my cups too and trust me, they don't peel -- they are going NOWHERE! I used my cup over and over in Mexico and you can't even tell it's been used. Actually I also recommend being careful when you originally place them on the cups as you can't remove them easily to re-place. Kristy and I live in Canada so the marriage thing works a bit different
  12. I haven't made them yet. I have been looking at different options for the best prices, etc. I have seen groupons for Photobook Canada, which have some nice layouts. Costco does them cheaper but not as fun of layouts. No, they have no idea they are getting them. I didn't get them anything for in Mexico ... my family isn't like that, so I think had we have gotten them a gift they would have been shocked. I am not sure what the standard is on that either -- do you get them a gift if they helped pay? We paid for our own, but nonetheless, we thought the photo book was a great idea.
  13. We decided to make photo books for our parents after the wedding Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Sooooo soon. Enjoy the day!! Congrats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Hugs It is tough but once you get there and it's all over you won't regret your decision for a minute. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hello, We have a lot of brides on here who go off site, hopefully they can chime in for you. Do you think you could speak to your parents and just explain the circumstance and how you would like to leave things 'as is' and have your legal back home? I say do what is best for you and your fiance. Good luck!
  17. I've had my bag checked one between Canada and Vegas. Pissed me off when I opened my suitcase. Never happened otherwise. Hubby's mom left all her stuff in her suitcase and used a hefty lock. She said 'try to steal my whole bag' lol. Worked for her Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I didn't wear mine in Mexico. I was scared for it to fall off in the water haha not sure how as I could barely get it on for the wedding. In the in room safe was ok but I've read reviews so made me nervous -- but my electronics are worth more so funny I was scared about the rings more @@nadiakat17 haha it doesn't bug me either. I'm pretty laid back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. We didn't wear ours on the plane but hubby wore his around once in awhile as he decided it was too small and ordered a larger size. That said, it didn't take away from the day whatsoever. The same as us legally marrying here first didn't take away from out symbolic in Mexico whatsoever. For us it's more the 'omg I can call you husband or wife now' or 'omg I just changed my name' But everyone is different. It's odd forcing myself to sign my new name. I'm a nurse and sign it a lot and I have been 50/50. Hahah have to create a new habit now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. @@Daivina2015 Congrats on your wedding and I'm so glad it went as you dreamed. I know it's hard to trust but now you've done it - you can tell others to trust that they are awesome!! I didn't get the beach dinner included did you? Hubby's cousin bought us that as a gift. We just got the French restaurant. Awesome you got both Sorry you can't post pics here as I'd love to see them. Maybe post a link to Facebook or photbucket? I can try to give you instructions if you want to post here. Let me know. I didn't know of a beach party but we arrived on Saturday so that's probably why. I have no Idea the name of our DJ but it sounds like you loved yours as much as we loved ours. Sooooo glad someone found your hubby's ring omg. That would have sucked. I was so scared to wear mine I locked it in the safe. Overall what is your impression of the resort and service? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I guess if you are superstitious. But your spouse tried that ring on before he bought it and probably when it arrived after ordering it, sooo he's had it on already opposite hand works too. We were actually legally married before Mexico so technically he could have been wearing it anyways lol. It didn't take away from our day whatsoever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. If you liked them could you negotiate only one photographer? For engagement shots 2 seems like overkill but what do I know I'm not much into dressing up or the spotlight so thank god I didn't have to change lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Anywhere really. I've never had a problem. It's no different than any valuable really. My electronics cost way more than our rings. It would suck to lose anything. I was more nervous having them in our safe than our carry on lol but both were fine. Do what you feel comfortable with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I paid $200 for 90 minutes and 100 edited photos. Most quotes I got were much much higher. What I did was go on kijiji and search for the cheapest options. Then I researched each one and picked from there. He didn't care what we did in that 90 mins so we did engagement, family and kid shots! He was awesome. I almost asked him to come to Mexico. We will use him again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
