  1. Your dress is gorgeous and you look fantastic in it. Great choice. Love the bridesmaid dress too. I also got everything David's. Love their selection of colors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. @@Cablelove11 as I said above last year and I still stand behind it -- We DW brides see it all. It's so unbelievable the actions of people regarding weddings. I lost who I thought was my best friend from getting married but I have gained many more valuable friendships from People who I never thought would be there for me. Focus on the good and on the people who step up -- they mean the most and the relationships you'll build thru this and your wedding week you'll cherish forever Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Not really. Sometimes I wish I would have done bubba mugs over tumblers. Or a different centerpiece hahah which are so lame to even think about so really no, I wouldn't have changed a thing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I brought mine. Couldn't imagine them not being with us when we married. We kept them the whole time and had to alternate nights we went out. On our wedding night my MIL took them and the next day everyone took turns so we had some private time. Is def a different trip with kids (sometimes wish we could have partied more) but I wouldn't change it for the world. We felt bad to ask for lots of extra help As everyone paid for their own vacation not to babysit. My kids were 9 though so didn't need much but an eye on them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. It's cause everyone else was so detailed before me !!! Such a great group can't wait. But oh so glad you had a great wedding as sometimes I feel pressure hehe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Gorgeous flowers and I think the BMs size (haha as a nurse that sounds hilarious) are great. Mine were much smaller! I bought my tumblers in August so only had to hit up two, so hopefully soon you'll find the rest. Maybe try a dollar tree too!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I mean you didn't buy the same wedding dress as her - that I can see as causing a ruffle but a STD? Seems so silly so I still stand behind my decision to move forward. If you wanted to 'break the ice' send an email/text and go 'OMG love your invite you will die when you see my STD' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Go for it - do what you wanna do. It's your wedding and you had this idea long before she sent hers in the mail. Would you not have a DW because someone else you knew was? No!!! So go for it I think I personally wouldn't even have thought twice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Welcome and congrats. As a Grand Sirenis bride I feel you made a fantastic decision looking forward to your planning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If you only send them to people who've put a deposit down then no RSVP is needed. If they back out your TA will know and advise you. That said I personally would send an invitation to everyone because as said above some people are unsure early on or some people want to book outside your party and this gives them the opportunity to be reminded and have the info. So if you did this yes an RSVP date is needed. I used a free wedding website that people used to RSVP to save on mailing stamps and the like. If you want it done by mail then you'd have to include the card. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yay!!! So happy it was everything you dreamed of and more I've been stalking your Facebook as I have no patience. You looked absolutely gorgeous. Looking forward to your review. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Jemma We have the bbq buffet and there was 3 types of meat if I recall - fish, chicken and steak. (Vividly recall fish had bones in it) The sparking wine and canapés is not the cocktail hour. That's what comes right after the ceremony. If you want a cocktail hour you have to pay extra and choose what liquor package you want. Nope don't need everything on the form now. I would suggest you lock in your locations and times but other things can wait. I made choices at our meeting and changed others. Sorry didn't have a legal ceremony. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. @@snswedding2016 I'm shocked one year earlier we were dark by 6pm!! Maybe that's normal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. It will be dark. I got married January 21 2015 and it was dark by 530! You can google sunset times too. But I'm pretty confident saying it will be pitch black at 6pm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Awe sounds like you had a lot of fun!!! Hahah I LOL at your fiancée comment. autocorrects really are the best. Good job on your to do list. Inching in on the month count down! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Sure you could get a table cover. It just had a white one on it. You could ask your WC for its dimensions. Yes had a separate table for the post cards, card box, seating chart and pics of us!! I did maracas as favors. I ordered from Amols. It's a US site but they can ship to Canada. I picked up in Washington. I got the medium size and it was $1.65 for two so a steal of a deal. I wrote our info on in markerand attached a tag with a cute saying on shaking them for a kiss. (Pics in my thread) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Welcome and congrats on your upcoming wedding! I was married at the GS over a year ago on Jan 21/15. LOVED our wedding and the resort was pretty awesome too Waiting for those deposits to come back can be pretty stressful, I think most ladies on here would agree. That really sucks that the free package is no longer available! We had the free package and upgraded our location to the palapa for our reception. Was just what I had envisioned.. have you seen pics of the palapa? With respect to packages and cocktail hours and extensions is that I say to consider what your really want from your wedding. Do you want a long reception with dancing? Do you want a private dinner with lots of speeches and the like? That will really help guide you on what package / location of reception / length of time / extras make the most sense for you two!! People definitely do the cocktail party! That would be your chance to have your cake, first dance, and some fun. You could probably get some speeches done over dinner but I believe you only get 1.5 hours and it wouldn't be private so not sure you would get a mic or anything. The cocktail party will not come decorated. You could totally extend to ensure you had a party that suited your taste in length, but if you pay for it twice you may want to consider a different package or an upgrade to the palapa! I can talk you thru all that if you want additional info -- again it really comes down to how you visualize your big day!
  18. I like them all. If I had to make a suggestion, have you considered the hearts in red or pink to give it a small pop of color? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hey @@karleealyssa I guess the big question that comes to mind is - kids or no kids as the Royalton is adults only Just stayed at the Melia Varadero last month and loved it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I've stayed at the Sandos. Back in 2013. We really loved it. Resort advice, if you can, get a room near the pool (an upgrade) as we were in the very back of the resort and it was a trek. Not a bad one but it was far lol Sooooo much to do there. Entertainment was great. Loved the a'la cartes. Nightly stuff was on/off (some nights hopping others dead) but you'll have a blast with all your guests -- you make your own party. Enjoy!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. What has your TA had to say? I'd be annoyed too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Hello!! We did post cards for our guest book! Could easily get them on site but our friend was in Mexico earlier and got us some . We had a card box more to hold the signed post cards but got used for both. We got a lot of cards! My floral held up all day and into the next, possibly longer but since I wasn't bringing them home I just let the maid take them! I wouldn't worry about that -- more use fake for price and keeping forever. The cake table is just a small square table with a white table cloth on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk With 80 people you will fill the palapa full. They may have to push the tables to the side after dinner so there is more room to dance!! But won't be tough!
