  1. I think it depends where in Mexican the Toronto passenger is flying from. For our wedding people flew out of Calgary and Toronto to Cancun, and the Toronto flight was shorter. We both left at 8am local time and they arrived 1 hour, if not a bit more, before us Mexican time.
  2. Awesome job. The guests will love those. My only concern/thought is that if you hand them out in TO after they check their bag ensure all your liquids meet carry on requirements so they aren't confiscated in security!!! (EDIT: maybe I read that wrong, for some reason I thought you were going to hand them out in the airport, but maybe not eek!) I found my Pepto at Walmart. Came individually wrapped so bought a few boxes of 48 and everyone got 2-4 depending. Each box of 48 was around $8.50. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. bahahahah!!!!! Love it! I went to the wax museum in Vegas!! was a nice experience, this was before Obama's time though (I think)... I am Canadian, go easy on me!
  4. WOOHOOO the time has come, by now you are sipping Pina Coladas on the beach in the DR!!! Take it all in girl, it's the best time of your life. Can't wait to hear all about it. Congrats!
  5. Great update! I personally love both of your dresses!!! Sometimes it's hard not to think of others or want to look for others, I would recommend reminding yourself why you chose those in the first place to help you thru those times of regret. I would also suggest you put the dress on but I know with where it's stored that isn't the easiest for you! I LOVE your STDS!!! Great job! I wish I was crafty enough for something like that I had a postcard guestbook and thought it was a fantastic idea, but of course I am bias! I actually came up with the idea before I ever found BDW, so I was a bit upset to realize it wasn't a Kim original idea heheh!!! I remember back last summer when I said 'man I have to wait 7 months!!!!' now I have been married almost 3 months - all I can say is that time flies!!! Congrats on knowing when your legal is going to be!!!!
  6. I will ASAP! This new update on tap a talk is kind of annoying lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/73939-las-diy-blog/page-6 This is where I saw that idea (I went back and found the page!) It's at the very bottom of the page, and I believe if you go to the next page and watch her highlight video it shows them in action -- but I could be wrong. Her whole thread was good! I think people know enough about weddings that they would be able to figure it out! If you wanted, you could put 'Reception Table One' or something to make it quite clear, but I honestly believe people will get it. Even more so when they show up and go 'which table should I sit at, hang on I saw that somewhere already!' I think the idea is fantastic. Can't wait to see what you decide and how you put it all together.
  8. Yay!! I had my purse, dress, large weekender bag and a roller suitcase and no one questioned me I think you will be fine. It's about to go really fast so remember to slow down and take it all in. I am sooooo excited for you. Can't wait to hear about it all when you get back. Have fun!!!!! 9. Hey! I got my wedding dress and 3 bridesmaids dresses from David's Bridal. All came in WAY under the stated time. For my dress they told me about 3 months and it was maybe 6 weeks. For their dresses it was 12 weeks (new color and nothing in stock) and maybe 2 months at best. My experience was good so I think you will be ok. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Now that I've seen your tables again I vote #1 all the way!! It's way more vintage than the chevron pattern. Just my 2 cents. Man I miss planning but on the flip side I don't hehe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I apologize for my horrendous grammar there!! I was told that by sunset the light is gone - it's completely dark and there isn't a sunset like here. Thankfully we were done in time and in the palapa before it was black. I will look back at my pictures to see if I can see the transition for you. I have to assume your family and friends are like you, so if yes when they are put in an area together they will naturally mingle and talk! My guests still rave about all the new friends they made I like the first sign - black! I love that look. I do also like the chevron pattern ... Are you using either styles anywhere else? I'd probably stick to a theme. Love the 'to keep you cool' fans sign. Not long before our wedding I found a planning thread on here that did fans and shades -- something like 'to keep you cool' and 'to make you cool' haha it was awesome and I wished I had seen it sooner. Although it's also nicer for the shades to be used all week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hey lady, If your sunsets at 7:19pm, it will be dark by then. So if you want a good hour to hour and a half for photos, you should bump your ceremony time up, if even only by 30 minutes. I had budgeted 1.5 hours for mine, and we didn't need it all but I thank that in part to a couple things... 1. the ceremony did not take 30 mins, 15 mins is pushing it 2. I had my MC (brother in law) in charge of the toast and group/family photos. He knew we wanted to move everything along - we did have some hugging and thank yous. He then gave a super quick toast and started to 'order' everyone around with the list I had provided him of the shots we wanted, this kept things moving. Had we not have had him, it would have been a stressful time and delayed things immensely. LOVE LOVE those shoes, nice choice. EDIT: We had a rehearsal dinner with long tables and it really made things tough to talk. You only talk to the 4 or 5 people around you. So for a welcome event I would probably suggest impromptu drinks and to use the included dinner for the rehearsal. Or, as someone else said above, had the impromptu drinks before the welcome dinner so atleast everyone mingles before sitting at those long tables. We an impromptu drinks at the lobby, while it was loud and hard to do formal introductions I introduced everyone personally and people just mingled, worked well.
  13. Some banks even offer USD thru their ATMs. I know RBC does. Yes $2000 in one go may be hard but an option. tD will be open, I don't think they ever close hehe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. On Hyatt's website when you go to book there is a link for all inclusive, so I'm sure it is. It's just odd that on Hyatt's page for this PDC site it doesn't mention AI anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. What I found odd is that on the Hyatt website it doesn't even mention all inclusive anywhere. Maybe try to book thru their website and see if you can make headway there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I do agree with you - we did post some on Facebook (and on here haha) because we had a lot of family and friends back home that couldn't come and I knew they were dying to see pictures. But when you are on vacation, especially with ALL those friends and family, you don't have time to play around on your phone!!!
  17. Good point. Does the resort just pocket those vendor fees? That's a lot they make! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Happy Wedding Day! Hope it was all you dreamed of and more. You've been gone for awhile, so we haven't had a chance to catch up. Hope everything sorted itself out. Can't wait for some pics!
  19. I did a pre-travel brochure I sent out 2.5 months in advance. I also had it listed on our wedding webpage and 2 days before we flew out I sent a mass email just confirming all the dates and times of the important events. The email was probably the largest factor in people attending our welcome drinks because it would have been the last read before leaving! Good luck!
  20. Glad you figured it out even if you have to wait for another dress! They will be able to do the alterations in time!!
  21. Hahaha that's for making me laugh Friday am. Thank god you aren't a Kardashian Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I'm anal! But seriously it kept everything together and organized. A couple of my bins were double the size of shoe boxes but you got my drift. I found the jumbo sized ziplocks at dollarama. I was a mess the month before and then a little more so the week before we left. The way you two are feeling is totally natural and par for the course. Once you leave for the airplane you will start to let that all go. The excitement takes over. Try to have faith in your WC and let it all go so you can enjoy your week and your day. Best advice I can give - let it go!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hey I replied to you about the tumblers in the other planning thread if you can't find bubble wrap anywhere clothes would work too. But definitely wrap them. I did the straws with about 10 together and bubble wrapped them too. They break easier. Are you taking out US money to pay vendors or tip? I was about to say take peso to tip and save your money but then you aren't in Mexico and I have no idea what their dollar is in the DR!! Getting so close. If it makes you feel better Shawn did the GM gift (minus the shaving kits I bought) 2-3 days before too. Men!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
