  1. Ohhh I forgot. We had a mariachi band. The guests loved having their photos taken with them. 4pm with a. 6pm reception is safe but if you want more comfort than do 630pm Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. If you are having a basic ceremony that the minister puts on, they are usually 15 mins max. I think mine entrance, ceremony and exit was 11 minutes Here was what we had planned -- given the ceremony took less time we ready to start our reception at 5pm with no problem whatsoever 3:00-3:30pm ceremony, thank yous, and toast on the beach 3:300pm-4:00pm group and family photos 4:00-5:00pm bride/groom photos 5:00pm-11:00pm reception While we did the bride/groom photos we actually had a cocktail hour with appies for our guests (appies were included with the toast but since things moved quick they had them with their cocktail hour). They just mingled and watched us take pictures. We had breaks too so we also mingled. We were secluded so you couldn't easily leave our location (needed a shuttle) Our guests seemed fine and no one complained. I highly recommend you have a list made of must have photos - for family, groups, and yourselves because it honestly is all a blur and moves quick. Best decision we made - well one My brother in law was our MC and right from the end of the ceremony he moved things along quickly. I credit him 150% for the amount of photos we took in the amount of time we had. Otherwise it would be sheer chaos - seriously! lol Good luck!
  3. Ohhh yes we had glow bracelets that we made into necklaces and head bands and people loved them. We also had maracas as our favors that got used on the dance floor all night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I could be wrong I just swear my photographer told me that. Don't trust me on this one whatsoever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I can't speak for Cabo but I was told the PV sunsets are the nice ones like here. The RM loses light like NOW. Definatley ask your photographer for their opinion Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I love them both but I may side with you and like the champagne ones better. For the wedding and for wear down the road (color goes with more outfits). Can't go wrong with either though. Love them. Oh ps - will be 'neighbours' for a month or so before you move! We are moving to Coventry in a month Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Sorry I don't have any ideas. We just had the DJ to play music for us to dance and the dance floor was full all night. He did a lot of interactive songs - like YMCA and we had a blast. Congrats!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I paid 2014 for my 2015 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Generally a European package actually means no food or drink!!! Not sure if Karisma does this or what their own definition of this would be, but I'd definately ask them your options and get the small print on what each package entails if they do offer options. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I used this deal for all my my paper items for our wedding. Such an awesome deal and great quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I had no issues. I ensured I had all my receipts on me in case they searched my bags. I also had all my wedding papers to prove they were wedding gifts. I also carried on me an itemized list of what was in each suitcase. Just make sure you haven't went over the limit $$ that you are allowed to bring in. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I married at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. We had the ceremony on a private beach that had a palapa for the reception right there. You can have your reception until 6am if you wanted to pay. I took the free package (free with 10 double rooms booked for 7 nights) and upgraded to this location ... then had the extra add ons that suited me. Lots of what you say I can see in this resort - worth checking out Not sure if all my links show up below or not (on my phone) but you can see my planning thread, wedding pics and review. If it doesn't I will make sure to post them for you. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Good luck to both of you (well 3 of you I should say). Can't wait to hear all about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. No photography wasn't included at all, that was separate. I got their 8 hour package for $1600 US which included 200 pics and a photo book. I paid an extra $100 to get all the pictures. I used Perla Brambila (her company is CeilitoLindo Photography) from what I understand each resort has different photographers -- not sure they jump In between. That said I believe she left my resort as she has her own company, as other brides haven't been able to use her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. You ladies can also post on the GBP thread and some of the recent brides could probably send you the extras list. There was a couple recent brides. One I was a date twin with Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hehehehe I should. But also have the stress of your wedding being as great as mine went over. Jk!!! $180 pp is a lot. How do their wedding packages and pricing compare between the 2? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Those changes at a cost are very standard :/ where the resorts, IMO, get carried away is with electricity fees and set up fees etc. Thankfully my resort didn't charge those extras but I did pay for the chair ribbons Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Keep me posted good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I'd ask your friend flat out what his services would cost for a destination wedding. It's hard to assume because I asked 3 local photographers and I got 3 very different answers. Most resorts won't charge the vendor fee but some do so definatley check your resort thread on here or ask your WC. I used Adventure Photos for our wedding. The thing about them is that there is more than 1 photographer. What I did was request a portfolio of all their photographer's work who worked at our specific resort. Looked thru all of the weddings and then picked the work I liked the best and requested that photographer. I did extensive research for mine as I felt 'second class' using a resort photographer due to some comments on this board but at the end of the day LOVE my photos and don't regret my decision for a minute. No matter who you choose do your research. Everyone has a different style and you need to make sure what you choose suits you. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I'm not sure where you live but I got our flower girl dress at Winners. It was $30! For the ring bearer we just got shorts and a dress shirt from Old Navy. I know a lot of ladies get the ties and suspenders from etsy but we didn't use those. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ohhhh I vote GS!! Hehehe. Which did you pick? (On my phone and can't see your particulars). When I got my pricing for January 2015 the Coba was super expensive but I know generally it's a well priced resort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. You guys are making me cry! I was 23 when my mom passed away and we almost lost her when I was a baby, so I'm thankful I had her for as long as we did. She never got to meet my kids or my husband but we talk about her a lot. Hugs ladies Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
