  1. I had no issues with the WC. Emails can be slow and up to a week for a response but the poor ladies are run off their feet and have brides at the resort who come first. I personally never had issues and felt it was fine. Their info sheets are pretty thorough and so is this board so that helped tremendously. I suggest emailing numerous questions at once, not one in several emails which may help the process speed up!! Communication is faster the closer you get as you get your personal WC and your priority to them picks up. The free package is 10 double rooms booked for 7 nights otherwise it's the silver package. I upgraded to the palapa so I had the location upgrade fee, then I had to pay for all their meals. When you upgrade the 10 are no longer included. Since my package was free it was still super cost effective. I priced out all packages and I could never beat the price of just upgrading my location. It was Nice because I got the items I wanted and not all the extra fluff of stuff in the bigger packages I didn't want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I think I figured it out. You use the term gel for what we say shellac for. At my nail salon gel is like acrylic and there is no way it can chip :) Your nails look fantastic and I love the look of the sparkles falling down your nail. I know there's a term for it but it's escaping me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. So glad all went well now that you've been thru it you can totally relate to say that the small stuff doesn't matter at all!!! Ladies it's true, try to relax and trust us when it's getting the best of you hehe Love 1000 years - that's what I walked to but in instrumental. Haha!!! About You winning the photo debate. Your pics are gorgeous. What about the groomsmen gift debate? Enjoy planning your honeymoon. It's such a lull after that that'll be fun for you guys. Ohhh -- how did everyone love all your OOT stuff? Congrats again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I was going to suggest the coloring books and crayons but I had them for my kids and that stuff never left their bags!! By the time bed came it was lights out. They were exhausted lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If you are in the states forsure. I'm Canadian and the shipping and custom duties fees were ludacris so like many brides on here I got them at Dollarama. Some also use dollar tree. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I ordered them around the time deposits were due. I ordered 6 extra (3 pairs) for just in case circumstances but didn't need them. I used the extras for friends back home who couldn't come, etc. I got the multicoloured ones because my theme was vibrant colors lol. The only ones I wasn't super happy with were the yellow ones as they looked like they needed another coat of paint. I used those ones last. I got the medium size and honestly all of them are different sizes so I would recommended not paying for the large. I got that saying for our tags from another bride on here I bought my tumblers a little later but still bought extra just in case and didn't need those either. I left some for the people in Mexico as our names weren't on them. Our fans I got later on so got the right amount lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Some if the extra marks on the maracas were authentic markings not my marker lol. I was so scared to use paint as I am not that crafty so I stuck with the basics. I was happy with them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. They don't. I wrote our names and date on the back with a sharpie marker. A previous bride used paint. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Hey!!I was going to just put the supplies right into the cups but at the last minute bought baggies from Dollarama. They were in the craft section. Just a little smaller than a sandwich bag! I didn't do bags, sorry! I only had 3 kids but they got cups. It seemed easier for my kids to just have the resort cups so they didn't use ours. The other kid there broke his straw so his didn't get used either lol. I put candy in their cups though!!! Actually I had 2 teenagers that got the candy cups too Ideas for their bags -- sand toys, beach balls, etc. To play with at the beach or pool. We got our kids snorkeling sets that were used every day almost all day but those are pricey to give as gifts but maybe even just goggles. Hope that helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I don't see why you can't book direct ?!? Here in Canada we had no choice but to book direct. Nice thing with going thru the WC is that you pay today's prices for next year. I married in January 2015 but since I booked in 2014 I got those prices. Maybe just ensure Thomson is ok you book direct but I'm sure I've read on here that ladies do that. Good luck and Congrats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yes!!! I think the day before we left I was the most excited and just overwhelmed with joy! For me though once we arrived in Mexico I was able to let it go and slept awesome all week! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. @@pddcmc I didn't look at myself either, all put together, now that you say it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Photobook Canada is a bit annoying to use. You have no idea what does what, but you can't hover over it to have it tell you. Kristy I am impressed you plowed thru it!
  14. OMG that is so exciting that your time is so soon to arrive!!!!! This week is going to fly by (mine went much quicker than I ever imagined it could) and you will be sitting on the beach sipping some sort of tasty drink! Can't wait to hear all about it girl!!!!! good luck!
  15. You looked gorgeous!!! So happy to hear that your wedding day went well minus the glitches with your WC at your meeting. can't wait to see more!
  16. Hugs hun!! just wanted to give you my condolences. I am not sure what advice I have and I feel horrible for that. I think with respect to your uncle and his immediate family, I would hold off a couple months, and given your deadline is still a ways out maybe just wait that time for everyone. Honestly though, maybe ask your mom? or dad? not sure what side of the family this aunt comes from. They may be able to guide you as they know them better than we do. Again, I feel horrible I can't help more but hugs to you! have been thinking about you lately......
  17. It's so odd to compare lists. Some of your 'not available' flowers were on my 'included list'... We basically had included and premium/exotic (extra charge). our list wasn't near as extensive as yours though. Maybe it depends on the florists the resorts use? edit: love the bouquet called 'citris' Love the colors! I had considered throwing in some of those 'green' things (LOL!!!) but then decided against it and stuck to my 3 main colors. Still love the idea though!
  18. The grand sirenis riviera maya has a location for catholic weddings. Not sure I can use the word church. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Was that with shipping? if not, what books did you get? as I didn't think there was ones that expensive especially with the groupon?
  20. I've responded to varies resort threads if I can help out so you've probably seen me on them Yes I sweated the small details which after the fact I didn't even notice on the day of. Only pictures show me them it's hard I get it 100%!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I got married in AB. I didn't want a big to do as to us it was just a formality. So we actually got married at the commissioner's house lol!!! The marriage license was $90 and the marriage commissioner $100! Could you do it at someone's home to save on the cost to rent a place? Or a park or local attraction? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Hey! Thanks! I actually got married at the Grand Sirenis so unsure who's review you read I loved everything about my day ... And week.... I just wished I stressed less about the little details like table decor that didn't mean much at the end of the day! Married life is well, the same as before hehe it's a neat feeling though wish I could do it all over. Oddly I've longed to go dress shopping again haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. No haven't used them yet! Some of the photo books I like are like 40 pages which I don't need, so I have been meaning to email them to see how to delete some of the pages! I love some of their pre made forms so want to use those and just cut out the pages I don't need/want. Just not sure I am creative enough on my own to start from scratch! Oh yay thanks, will check it out now!
  24. @@smileitseb The white area is a business card printed from Vistaprint. I then cut them down some and pasted them to the cardstock! My theme was just vibrant colors When we entered the reception everyone was on their feet shaking the maracas - that wasn't even planned but it was so special to see everyone get into it. The maracas were a large hit!!!!
  25. Hehehe I got that same deal and sent everyone some extra pics. More for family and bridal party but I put those 50 pics to use!!! I had my group photo on the actual card. Great minds think alike. Also doing photo books for the parents gifts. Costco's options seemed weak. Shutterfly with the exchange is too expensive so currently considering photo book Canada. Lots of options and good pricing -- even better? Frequent sales. Check them out!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
