  1. Ohhhh ok thanks! Maybe you never told me that. My friend just attended a wedding at the grand sunset riviera princess or something like that. Maybe same place. She loved it. I was so over that stuff too. So tired of coloring matching, paper cutting, glueing lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I had the same issues with my seating chart. I actually cut little white squares with paper and wrote a name on each. I played around and once I had a decent set up I took a picture lol. Then we chose between them after. At the end of the day they only sit there to eat then they dance and mingle so don't let it cause you too much stress. We had people all over all night and it worked good. I know you told me?!? Maybe not but what's the resort next door? I always love to know where people are staying hehe. Gives me ideas and later on, reviews. Ties look great! And at a distance and unless side by side something else you won't even notice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I know! Time flies! It's hard to believe this time last year I was booking the resort now I'm married you are going to have a blast, I'm 100% sure of it. Have a drink for me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. @@smileitseb woohoo your time is almost here. Remember to slow down and take it all in. Congrats and can't wait to hear all about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Woohoo can't wait to hear about it. Remember to slow down and take it all in!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. @@veryvalentine Life after is super fun too! I think I am almost over the wedding withdrawal/blues stage! ha! So much fun things to talk about now -- we aren't having kids, but buying a home and our honeymoon and such has been fun to plan and talk about! HAHAHAH!!! vows for your feelings! We are such women and they are such men, hey? Men seem to fly by the seat of their pants and we are more logical! Even though they hate it, they will admit we keep things together!
  7. @@veryvalentine sometimes I think too much, my spouse says I ask to many questions. hahah! I just tell him I am a nurse and everyday I assess, plan, implement and evaluate and that he needs to get over it! On a side note - a much more fun one - OMG you are under the 2 month mark! So exciting. Your pictures above look fabulous and will go so well with your reception venue!
  8. I totally understand you on the not wanting to rank people. I was the same way, I think I asked everyone as a 'bridesmaid' but in the end I had one of my sisters and two friends, so in Mexico my sister was like my MOH as she signed with us and what not. Given she was my sister I would have to assume noone felt under her, she's my sister! That said, she didn't live here only one bridesmaid did and bless her heart for all she did for me -- threw my bachelorette, came to all my appointments, offered opinions and such! She was a god send! I actually didn't choose my bridal party until I knew who was coming, this was HARD for me. I didn't want people to feel the added pressure of having to come to Mexico. Other than my old best friend drama, everyone I had in my mind did end up coming so it worked out well Given that she has bought her dress and such, you would think she would be booking soon. When is your deadline? I think if you want her to be your MOH then you should just go for it. She has been doing so much for you and she clearly loves to help, so I am sure she would feel honored.
  9. Oh I believe you 100% I just find it odd that this isn't listed on any websites. I went back and viewed AB's marriage site and now just viewed ON's and it mentions nothing. Seems unfair for those doing their research online to only find out about this when they book which could be AFTER their symbolic abroad. If it was a large NO NO you would think it would be mentioned somewhere?
  10. Couldn't resist. Wasn't she a beauty? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I also agree! I'd be worried about it rubbing off, it being streaky or even it being to orange for my taste. Given you'll just use a tanning bed for a month or so to get a base (we aren't talking nutella mom here) I think you are ok to use a tanning bed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I know that's why I said province or country. Although it still makes no sense to me as symbolics aren't legal. I actually know someone in AB who did the symbolic first. Maybe they just didn't tell them they had the Mexico one??? I may look up AB laws today for curiosity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Don't fret! I got married January 21 and at this time last year we hadn't even booked our resort yet we booked early may and had invites out mid may. I had tonnes of time! Just do small things at a time. I used a travel agency ... There can be group booking discounts and other special offers for bride and groom. I'm on my phone so unsure where you live. If in the USA the owner of this site is an agent and would be perfect. If in Canada I can recommend mine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Do you think people will understand that 'devices' also means legit cameras? Unless of course a camera is ok. I found more carried their cameras than phones. I always worry there is the one who is clueless as we have all learned on here hahah Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. OMG!!!!! that venue is to die for. That is awesome. Everything is coming together and June will be here before any of us know it! Good luck at the alterations appt. You have done awesome. Hey! In AB it's the same 90 days! I paid about $90 at the registry in Beddington but they are all different - I called a place down Centre Street and they quoted me $75 so I was a bit annoyed that Beddington was more. Our officiant actually mailed out the paperwork for us, so we didn't have to do that. We also didn't have to wait 10 weeks, right after Mexico (so maybe 2-3 weeks total) I went back to Beddington for our marriage certificate. It came in the mail the same week. That was around $45 I believe. I paid $100 for my officiant. I didn't know you couldn't do the symbolic first, wow!! I wonder if it depends on province and country, because I know Marina got married after Mexico. Interesting. I am sure you could find that on the AB Works website if you planned to get married after. @@TinkerSofi Oh! that really does suck about your friend's aunt! funny now I am sure. That happened to our friend on here (MrsKtobe) She went for her legal ceremony just before they left for Mexico in November and the officiant never told her to get a marriage license so they couldn't be married. She had no idea to get one. I think in the end they ended up making the one in Mexico legal.
  16. haha you beat me to that, now I wanna look too!!!! I love Christmas ornaments.
  17. Hey! definitely do one! When I was in the planning process I read about every planning thread on this board! I did mine about 3 months out, but some do them much earlier and some wait until after. Whatever suits your taste! It was a great place to keep my thoughts in order and what I had to do, but also for advice and opinions on things I had done/was working on! Also, you will meet a lot of the regular gals here thru them and form some great 'online' friendships
  18. I am in Canada so I can't speak for prices in the USA or aboard, but Michaels can be fairly expensive. But..... you shouldn't shop at Michaels and pay full price! Sign up for their app or on their webpage and weekly they will send you coupons. There is always 30-50% off one regular priced item coupons and then from time to time you can get anywhere from 10-30% off your entire order (I've seen it as high as 50% but that was only once over a holiday). I never pay full price there!!! The dollar store would be cheaper. Depending what you are looking for the quality would suit your DIY just fine, other times the dollar stores can have lesser quality so just depends what it is. I DIY almost everything - invites, all my favors, seating charts, decor, etc. You can check out my pages below!
  19. Love the vases. I almost bought the smaller ones like a week before we left for my candle holders cause I loved them so much but talked myself out of it. My bank account is lucky my planning didn't start at ikea or my theme would have been very different. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Now I want a Jamaican patty!!! Lol. Super excited for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Loved the little mishaps! We have ours too!! I agree, so in your own world and so focused because of nerves and the like that you have no idea what else is going on!!!! Congrats again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I agree I use shellac as the blanket term. I use gel as the other term against acrylic. So not sure what else to call it either as it's certainly not a 'polish'. Ombré is a great term!!! I did mine this weekend after all this talk and for once tried the one nail different. It's growing on me. I never wear full polish so this is huge for me. Usually just have the colored tips. 23. Hey! I knew he had gotten them watches but reluctantly at the last minute so was curious if it ever came up again. Sounds like he now realizes the importance of those gifts if he wants to get the best man more see we know best lol Ouch on the arm!!!!! Glad it's starting to heal. Lots of our people were banged up and bruised too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
