  1. I agree. You've got plenty of time!! I'd say if you have the large things done by 3 months out and just finishing up crafts and small purchases you will be fine I made sure when I was 11 weekends out I did something major each weekend! Yay! Exciting though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I was going to have my men in white and thought that would be washed out. Loved the turquoise in the end!!! But wasn't sold on it until I saw the pics after. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. @@yycbride2016 What you describe for the BM's and GM's sounds sharp and would look beautiful! But if you find yourself truly wanting another color I would suggest just having a conversation with your ladies. I was worried too but thankfully they were prepared to pay and had no issues with it. Sometimes we take on more guilt than we need too. I was this way OMG! Whatever you decide, it will be beautiful. Another dress store you could check out is Oksana's. I believe there is one in Chinook but I know for certain Sunridge Mall and Cross Iron Mills have them. I found their price points cheaper forsure. Some had less quality than David's but others were good, unfortunately the color I wanted was hard to find. There is also Laura in Cross Iron that also sells a lot of formal dresses perfect for BMs. Just an idea, no matter what color you end up buying. Actually when I was in Cross Iron on the weekend one of the stores near H&M had the convertible dresses, shocked me. I didn't go in to see the price though. Good luck!
  4. Beautiful. You looked stunning and all your photos are great. Glad it was all you hoped for and more. Congrats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hey! I really wanted bubba's for all my guests but at $6 a pop I just couldn't afford it. Looking back I should have just made it work. That said I did the tumblers with lid and straw. I had to bring 45 + of them. I had my kits inside the cups so I couldn't stack the cups. I bubbled wrapped each one and fit almost all in one 30 inch suitcase. More than 1/2 my guests used the cups! The others had brought their own bubba's. Truth be told though - had I have known about a stadium cup before I bought the tumblers I would have went this route. I think it's a fabulous idea although another poster is right - won't keep them cold all day But they would also get used at home after too. More than the tumbler will. If you are a US bride you should check out discount mugs as they have great prices. Unfortunately to Canada the shipping was absurd. That said I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Personally if you can make the bubba's work price wise that would be my first suggestion, otherwise tumblers or stadium cups are both a good alternative. I don't regret our decision to do tumblers whatsoever and our guests loved them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Personally I love the ketchup idea. I agree when I was in Cuba their ketchup was more a runny BBQ sauce lol I brought in food to Mexico just have to ensure you know Jamaica's rules on what's NOT allowed and you'll be fine I would probably save my money on the crossword book. Unless people had them for the plane I feel pretty confident they won't get used. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I felt the same 100%. I almost went to black because I couldn't find a cost effective dress. Had the same quilt. But I just couldn't let go of my vision. I asked the girls what they were comfortable paying and all said full price. So I paid $40 Of each to feel better. I also got them a nice little BM package too. I feel your pain Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Honestly I've seen turquoise done lots - even my men were in this color and honestly it's awesome. It doesn't blend in whatsoever IMO and it's a great color for the beautiful tropics I say go for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Love all the designs my fave is the bottom right corner. I'd suggest canvas over paper too then your guests can use them as beach bags. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. My BMs husband had a go pro and I was happy with his rendition of the ceremony. Depends what is important to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Typically I would also vote no suspenders but they do tend to match your theme/vision so I think you are good either way Everything is really going to be beautiful. And you are in the final count down! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. You could always put them together before hand (well I guess if you rent them maybe not) and they are pre done. Scrap that! Ack I see your struggles. I really loved the lime runner and you could probably find those leaves at michaels or the like for super cheap if you didn't wanna use real ones (ie friend the gardener). That's probably the cheapest option?! And it's unique. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Both are beautiful. I say no isle runner. We had 3-4 trips during the ceremony. But it won't blow away as they secure it under the sand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Have you thought of bringing your own vases? I'm sure you could find plastic ones but some of those colorful ones wouldn't take up much space in carry on if they were glass. Since you get 2 bags each on the plane it may not be too much of a burden. I bet you can get those at the dollar store for cheap cheap or Walmart! I've seen them there. Prices are ludacris. Thankfully I brought my own stuff and the bouquets I did order were $30 each. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I find that odd. I think they should be personalized. Even if just a generic thank you if you draw a blank! I had enough memories or specific thank you's I needed to give that I filled each card right up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Great idea to send direct. Now that I know I love them I will send the other two direct Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks!! @@kcole123 it's way better quality than the one I got from Mexico lol. I now know why your in laws loved theirs. @@TinkerSofi. Thanks! I hope they do -- we also made the first page with a personalized letter to them so I think they'll be a hit. They are super quality and I know Kristy used the larger books and they also loved them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I ended up getting a groupon from Photobook Canada to make our parents photobooks as a 'thank you' gift. I wasn't sure I'd have enough pics for the large ones so I did the fun 6x6 size which is softcover. I was so nervous it would distort the pics or whatever!!! I ordered just one first to make sure. It came today and omg!!! The quality is awesome and the pictures look fantastic. I did a mix of engagement and wedding photos. I'll post some pics below. I didn't want to open the pages all the way because it's a gift but gives you an idea. The groupon had the cost be $5.99 and $7.99 to ship so stellar price. And I ordered it on the weekend and was here in less than 5 business days! Sorry my iphone pics do it no justice. The pics are clear and sharp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Hehehe maybe I am thinking in dollars! I probably am but I will check right now. Stay tuned. Ps - I must be because $125 peso is like less than $10 Canadian. Yes I was thinking Canadian and writing peso. The wedding day pass is $1050 peso. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. If it helps most my guests book the last day! Seriously no joke! Send some reminder emails or texts David's will hopefully have your color. They have so many!!! And the quality is great. Was highly impressed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I had a groomsman who lived in Mexico! So the day passes are 6am-2pm or 2pm-6pm which kind of suck! They were around $125 peso but the handouts would confirm. The wedding pass was 3 hours before until the reception ended. They were about $150 peso maybe?! (I can check my invoice) and they included the wedding meal and 3 hours of booze included in the reception, etc. We extended our reception and we had to pay extra for that for them. You could probably barter more from them! We just had them on our bill with their names listed and since I never heard anything I assume they had no issues getting on the resort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Wow!! That's so upsetting but I'm glad you are taking it in stride and seeing the positive. I actually checked 3 times I had my location booked and I only booked 8 months in advance so I totally agree. That said, you booked first so IMO they should have bumped the other bride. Crazy they let you all walk. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Awe love them!! Those are awesome and personally would leave the men's as is! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hahaha I didn't pay close enough attention to your user name. I apologize. I flew Air Canada. They had the cheapest package. We got every 16th person free and an upgrade to first class. Yes all the dresses including mine were from David's. I searched hi and low and couldn't find my color anywhere else in what I had envisioned. So I bit the bullet. They were $160 each but I asked them to pay $120 each. I had guilt too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Nope your stress right now is normal. I lost sleep. My head spun. I was so worried about people not coming based on the price. When I went to Mexico in 2013 I paid low $1400's for April so high $1500's for January seemed ludacris. But I chose a range that I was comfortable to pay. Like I said for us thankfully you could never get a better price. The last minute people paid way more AND almost didn't get to come. Our resort would be off Expedia then back on etc. Was tense for those people. The people who booked alone though weren't hoping for a deal just hadn't had work approved or what not. I feel your pain. I don't even know what to suggest. All I can say is maybe you explain to your family that this gaurentees you are on the plane and at our resort. Some people may surprise you for the good and some for the bad lol It's a whirlwind. This is the hardest part IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Just remember that the prices will be higher in 2016 than 2015 depending on the economy. Prices have steadily gone up each year even from 2014 to 2015. We used Air Canada and ours was every 16th person free I do believe. We also got a free upgrade to first class. Unless she's quoted that exact week she's just guessing. My travel agent could tell us what places to consider due to pricing she had seen come back in our range but until it's quoted it's anyone's guess. Is the hotel already booking up? The plane? Etc. Those make a large difference. Generally the rock bottom pricing could be because you booked last minute and the resort and / or airline is trying to fill their plane. You wouldn't want to take that risk with your wedding. Edit - I remember being bummed that resorts I had priced out for my trip in 2013 were sooooooo much higher for 2015. But the travel agent was invaluable in steering us in the right direction. She actually suggested the GS to us. It was never on our radar. In January Calgary paid $1565 and Toronto $1465. The people who booked alone paid closer to $1800. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
