  1. I think it looks good, but I agree with the poster above that I would probably replace the 2 dance songs with the mother/son father/daughter dances. Dancing then dinner may be an odd start/stop as that is getting the party started, then cutting into it for something large like dinner. Here is an idea of our day (ha I just cut/paste it from my review) I think it worked well for us, but we had a 6 hour reception. TIMELINE (this is a general idea, some of it’s a blur) 9:00am – everyone had breakfast together (Shawn and I didn’t part until after breakfast) 10:00am-1:30pm hair/makeup appointments and quick lunch at the spa 1:30pm-2:00pm Men have getting ready photos, Bridesmaid’s get ready 2:10pm-2:40pm Kim getting ready photos, photos with bridesmaids and garden shots alone 2:40pm – 3:00pm Drive to ceremony location and organization of bridal party for entrance 3:00pm-3:30pm ceremony & toast (possibly shorter) 3:30pm-4:00pm group and family photos 4:00pm-5:00pm bride/groom shots – guests had cocktail hour with mariachi band 5:00-5:30pm? Entrance, housekeeping, speeches 5:30pm-6:30pm buffet dinner (probably shorter) 6:30-6:40pm people introduced themselves, thank you from bride/groom 6:40-7:00pm all dances (bride/groom, parent’s dances, etc.) 7:00-8:00pm PARTY! 8:00pm-8:10pm cake cutting 8:10pm-8:30pm any photos people wanted with bride/groom before photographer left and PARTY 8:30pm-11:00pm PARTY OHHHHHH and 1 month today! OMG you must be so excited.
  2. Yay!!! Can't wait to hear your reviews!! Enjoy the time away. I kind of agree on the photos being cheesy but I went into more from the perspective of practice. It taught us how to pose and kiss and such. I honestly believe it helped with wedding photos and gave me more confidence I could smile and not look dorky lol. Also gave us great pics of us to use at the wedding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I agree they'd be handy! Our first day we all walked in circles until we finally ran into eachother. That said, your WC ensures you are the last to leave for the ceremony. No concerns there whatsoever Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I am so sorry to hear about your nephew. That is such tough news but I pray the best for him and he will be in my thoughts. Hugs to all of you. Wow!! I think you will have the most fabulous experience and I'm so glad you and your fiancé came to this decision amidst all the stressors. My husband toured Asia right after we met. He loved Thailand and really really wants to see Phuket. The photos are unreal. Actually he wants us to take our one year anniversary trip there in January! I will ask him what books and such he used to plan his 7 week trip and get back to you. Congrats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Omg that is terrible of him. Especially when he knew it would be at your expense. I still can't believe it should be your issue. I never heard that with AC. It baffles me that you should be responsible for someone else when they make their choice and give their credit card number. Personally I'd refuse to pay if you can!!!! But I don't let things go haha. I feel your frustration. Hopefully the price drop will help you pay that if you can't get out of it. Out of curiosity is this a relative or friend of Juan? 6. The thought of being able to read my old journals cracks me up too!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. That happened to me too! Had surgery in December 2013 that threw me off and engaged in April and I've never been able to get my shape back because I always had an excuse. I'm trying to push myself to get back to the same level as I have no more excuses lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Agreed SO many products. I knew some Friends with it so just got that one lol I know people who use Garmin too but unsure of it's exact product and features. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yes it's a watch and a chest strap. I don't find it uncomfortable as it's adjustable. From my research the chest strap is the only accurate continuous monitoring. The watch makes you reset it as your intensity changes. Well my girlfriends did anyways so that was a little turn off for me. I could be wrong and I'm sure things change daily so technology may have changed. I have the polar FT4 and believe I paid around $150. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I totally understand and having it recognized in your church is so important. We had the repeat after me and kiss the bride elements as those are law. I think your wedding day in Mexico will be so special even still and I can't wait for your review. Your family is so happy and so proud!! I totally understand though. Enjoy!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If you did leave them with family, just make sure they know you don't want them stuffed in their pocket! Even give them to them in a nice envelope to make your point! If you go the WC route just ensure she secures them or gives them to the Minister if it is windy out! My guess is she would hang on to them until the Minister arrived and hand them off.
  12. I've never had any issues with mine! But good to know if I do! I had to order the pink from their website. Also had to re order a new chest probe when mine fell in the toilet. Was nice I didn't need to buy the whole package with watch again. Ya it was silly how it was calculating. Couldn't ever figure it out! Ah well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Congrats on your legal marriage! I agree it's what you make it to be. We had no vows, no rings, no family. Only a few people know it happened. We didn't wear our rings. We didn't say we were married so Mexico was way more special. I rarely even think of that day to be honest. It's def not for everyone but like you said, it is what you make it to be. Can't wait to hear about your wedding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. You are a fitness tech nerd lol I love my polar FT4! In pink of course. Haven't met the goal for the fitbit yet but hopefully soon! Not sure I mentioned it above but got a nike Fuelband for Xmas 2 years ago. Pointless. we sold them lol Bahaha I used to love map my run until I would walk down my stairs and it said I ran 1k so I reinstalled and had no luck. So turned to a nike app that tracks it. Have you had that problem @@yycbride2016 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. A lot of brides on here recently have been buying vow books. Another bride got a journal from Chapters that is hard covered. Do a quick Etsy search and you will probably find numerous ideas. Couple ideas for who has them. What about a close family member who is sitting in the front row. They won't be walking down the isle as a part of the wedding party but are close by to hand them off. Another idea would be to give them to the WC the morning of and she can get them onto the table you will be standing at with the minister. Assuming you have a table. Hope that helps. 16. It's quite common I think. I like the idea because my ring is 'twisted' but the bottom is solid so it can be resized easy. That said when it spins the solid part shows and looks dumb. You can get them sauddered twice but that's double the cost! I'm cheap lpl Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. The ring is perfect. He is going to love it. Sorry to hear about your dress. What an added stress :/ It's common to second guess everything the last couple days. I sure did. I was in michaels the day before we left. At this point id probably stick with what you have. Ie - can you get a veil off the rack? Is your hair piece going to work with it? Will you need to change your style? Ahhh you don't need the stress. The birdcage will be beautiful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The anniversary is a good excuse. I wanted one sooner so I could get them all sauddered (so?) together but couldn't justify the cost lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. At the end of the day I'd just do it anyways! Who wants that ugly thing in wedding photos? My photog actually emailed me to remind us to do it as editing them out is super time consuming. I'd say just ensure you keep them and explain it was for your wedding if you get flack! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Gorgeous set!!! Maybe in time you'll get a band for the other side? I really want one!!!! I thought maybe at one year. We shall see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Different reaorts but yes you can remove them. We were told to save them to prove we just needed a replacement. We didn't lol and still got new ones. Heck one BM just never replaced hers and no one questioned she didn't have one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Chintzenitza? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Gorgeous pics. Wished I had seen those before we went cause I would have done that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. So I asked a December bride. She can't recall of she got charged or not lol but they hung them lower down and along the border of the palapa. Rather than up high above the entire palapa. I can send you pics to give you an idea if you need so I guess I still suggest you email to ask! Price wise but also if they can fulfill the vision you have for where you want them hung. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yay! Congrats. So glad it all went well. You looked stunning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hey! For the free wedding package it's 10 double rooms booked for 7 nights. This is done thru the resort, not your TA. When I booked I asked for the free wedding package. If for some reason you don't make it, you would just pay the silver package then have your upgrade to the palapa. The only package that offers the palapa is the presidential package. Did you already book a package thru the resort for your wedding? The palapa is right beside the disco. It's a hefty walk if you are on the Riviera Maya side, but some of the Mayan Beach side blocks of rooms aren't bad. I would suggest renting the golf cart/shuttle though. It was around $85 and I had it for my entire wedding. It was always there, so should someone need to go off and come back it can take them. I personally wouldn't send all your guests to the lobby for a free cocktail hour because it takes some time to shuttle them all and I would be worried they would miss dinner, etc. But that is your call 100%, I just paid for the hour cocktail hour for ease! We had 45 guests and we had to shuttle them for 1 hour to get them all to the palapa on time! Your TA should know if Air Canada is offering any current promotions, especially if you have a group booking! I think that's key. I got every 16th person for free, and a free upgrade (upon availability) to first class for the bride/groom. I had to book this MONTHS in advance -- around July for our January wedding as there was only 2 seats left. I would call your TA to see if you are getting any deals, seems like you should because I can't think of one Canadian bride that didn't get some sort of a package for their group - especially with 36 people! I even had people fly from different cities and I still got the deals. Gateway didn't matter. I got flowers from the resort. I actually felt they were reasonable priced. My bouquet was included in our package but I paid a bit more to get a larger sized one. The BM's bouquets were 4 gerbaras, greenery and white ribbon and they were about $30 each!!! Ask for a quote specifically for what you want, as they may try to just charge you the standard fee of $525 peso from the handouts. The bouts were kind of expensive at $18 each (considering the BM bouquets were much large and only $12 more) I then used them as my reception centerpieces. I ordered 1 extra. The palapa is pretty tall/high, so I would ensure they don't charge you to hang your lanterns. I know another bride had them hung, so I can send her a quick msg to see if she was charged. It would seem pretty daunting for them to get all the way up there.
