Hello I'm not a Dreams bride but thought I'd chime in. My concern with you considering a change is that just a change of hotel won't clear up the rain and seaweed issues. Like the other poster mentioned could you possibly change the time of year? We had ours in January and I think it drizzled once overnight. Seaweed for us was fine but we were down near Akumel. I know it's since ramped up. I think anywhere in the Cancun /RM area has this problem If the rain is your biggest fear my suggestion is to change your dates. Good luck. I love them both. I think you look great in the one you have!! I do understand your temptation though. If you like the idea of the sash, could you add one to the dress you have now? EDIT: agree on the bridal parties attire. I wanted to switch out the guys shirts in September and barely could find anything!

I did a pre travel brochure that I sent out beforehand, But it can give you some ideas -- it's in my planning thread below I'll find the exact link when I'm on my pc. You can also search welcome letter or welcome Brochure and you should find lots. That's where I got the majority of my ideas. Then I made one on vistaprint . Good luck!! Welcome! Proud Grand Sirenis brides here (LOL!) Looks like @@yycbride2016 sent you all the handouts which is great. They are very thorough and walk you thru all your options, add ons, extra fees, etc. What I did was choose the free wedding package (10 dbl rooms booked for 7 nights - otherwise it's the silver package) and upgrade my location to the palapa. I then added on all the extras I wanted, like the DJ, mariachi band, etc. I found that the presidential package was just a bit too much for what I wanted, and when I just did the basic package with add ons the cost was much lower. You are right, the packages include 10 people. That said, if you pick a package and upgrade to the palapa the 10 are no longer included and you pay per person. This is what I had to do. I had 2 food options and I picked the buffet. That was about $32 Canadian per person with the exchange at the time. The surf and turf was around $50 per person. This per person fee also includes the toast/appetizers after the ceremony, the booze for 3 hours, cake, the chairs, tables, etc. I brought all my own decor and just rented the chair ribbons! What I loved about the GS is that their packages were pretty inclusive, their extras were reasonable in cost, and they didn't charge you any hidden fees or set up fees. Below are all my links to check out my planning, my wedding review, and pics! Good luck!

How long is your hair now? Being the bride who also grew her hair out you'd be shocked what they can do with hair that just fits in a ponytail Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I also have never heard of an accommodation card, unless this is just an additional card you will have with your invites that speaks on the accommodations/resort, etc. My invites were fairly basic and just directed our guests to our wedding website that I made for FREE on mywedding.com There I had a page just for booking. I had all the prices listed, what you got for that price, connectors to/from major gateways, dates, flight times, deadlines, etc. Our guests had the option not to book with us though and I made it clear what the cost was if they didn't stay at our resort. Most booked with us - our travel agent info was supplied - and some booked alone. That said, if your guests MUST book one specific way, then I think it is ok to be frank with the details. It seems people make their own rules and have their own ideas about weddings, especially DW, so I think just short, sweet, and to the point is best. Show us what you have and maybe we can help tweak it, good luck!

I wanted to respond previously to your bridesmaid issue but was always on my phone. Long responses can be daunting while on your phone! Any headway with this? I didn't have the same situation, but a girl who I thought was my bestfriend, whom I was considering paying to come to Mexico to be with us, didn't even want to talk to me about my wedding. Our relationship basically fell apart, and it was evident she had no interest. I called her out on it, thought we made amends, but alas we didn't. I haven't spoken to her in over a year, and as much as it hurt at first. I am happy it turned out the way it did. I have been fostering the relationships of the people who were happy for me, some who were so involved when I never realized would care. Just goes t to show who your real friends are. That said, again not the same situation! I think you definately need to have a frank conversation with her. Being sensitive but to the point. At some point you need to know 100% what she is doing because 1. you need to get their dresses and such 2. gifts 3. ask another bridesmaid if you wish 4. have a confirmed guest list, etc. It seems you have been more than willing to offer her as much as you can to make her life easy and she isn't biting. There must be something larger going on that she isn't comfortable telling you about. I would wait a bit longer until you need to order the dresses (ie the sample swatches come in) and /or wait and see if she gives you something you can use as an opener to bring it up. How as your relationship been otherwise? is she in Calgary, if yes, is she going dress shopping with you? is she open to discussing your wedding and helping out? These were tell tale signs for me, my friend had no interest whatsoever. Would you like to come dress shopping Sunday at 2pm? I may have plans. Oh what time? 3pm. OK we can go at 11am, would that work? never heard back! ugh! Good luck.

Hey! No I don't, sorry We moved two weeks ago and anything I knew I wouldn't use again was donated. That is a great cost and since you can back up their work, you are set to go! I remember being overly nervous when I brought mine to a small place in Beddington that wasn't a bridal store. I also couldn't justify the cost of David's Bridal. That said, I still paid $325! I thought I was getting a steal, you stole the show!

I think it's less being comped by our guests, but more the shock when we realized people have no tact when it comes to weddings! I had a lot of shockers too and lost friends. It had nothing to do with us getting a free flight or our free wedding package - sure it was nice don't get me wrong!!! - but it was more the way the people treated us that we thought were our good friends. In the end if they booked with us or not, we would pay what needed to be paid.... but people getting their own group rate, what? Or asking your guests to stay at another resort? Like come on people, it's not your special week, let them have this one! That said, you want to stay elsewhere go for it but leave others alone. That's my take anyways And I say this laughing, just when I think I have seen it all, someone posts another doozy!

What?!? I can understand staying somewhere else or booking alone but to get their own group rate. That's a large slap in the face and I'd be so miffed I'd probably re nag my invite. I know another bride had a guest trying to sway people to stay at the resort he chose and in the end he didn't even go! Some people are just so disrespectful that it's hard to believe they were your friend!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I love numbers one and two best. For my body shape I tend to gravitate to one but wish now I had tried more styles on. Can't go wrong with any though!! I'm curious though for the brides that wore styles two and three if dancing was easy? I would use zappos because I know others who have. But it's not Canadian! I know you have the option. I think you'd be safe. I think you've got the major items. Are you dancing and need music or a DJ? Transport to your ceremony? Those are the only things popping into my mind. Ohhhhh I love it. And the one wear you've twisted it up your back is fantastic! My fave! Hopefully you get a color as close as you'd like. Remember too unless the same person is wearing the items that a slight color variance won't be noticed. Ie the ties and dresses don't have to match 100%! Can't wait to hear what color your chose. You can't do court house weddings in Calgary anymore. There is a list of available people on Service Alberta. I can recommend mine if you want when the time comes. We just went to her house. She was $100 but my coworker just used her and I think it was $120. I know 4-5 people who have used her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
