  1. Great choices! Love the sparkle on the veil! Can't wait to see your shoes once they are dyed.
  2. I have faith for your necklace but not so sure I'd bank on the BMs stuff. Which really sucks big time I certainly hope it works out or you can find a good alternative. What has PayPal said? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I still think that's not overdoing it heheh If you have colored napkins and linens and plates and cups etc you may do that. But it would be quite similar to Rachel's which I personally thought was genius. I'm a little jealous really hehe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That's a tough situation. Do you think you could speak to your mom and say that you hadn't planned any other favors, etc. as you had planned the excursion to be your thank you gift and you would like to be able to use that as your thank you? I think that is reasonable and I don't see why your mom would mind. Also, it would help the situation if you felt that his parents may feel 'left out' or 'upset' if your parents hosted something and they did not. Good luck on the attire! Definitely a good idea to start looking for anything you consider summer attire. Have fun in Washington. It was that border that we got stopped for our maracas and they searched my car LOL!!!
  5. Hopefully your TA can advert further stress!! I think sometimes people just don't pay attention! That's all I got lol I did an online RSVP so you had no choice but to add your name. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. That is frustrating. Any chance that they did put their name or address on the return envelope to help solve? Hopefully someone mentions soon they sent theirs in so you can quiz them on who it was! A few ideas -- would they possibly have contacted your TA as well to place a deposit you may be able to get info from? Could you post on Facebook or The like inquiring? Or..... Could you send a group email to everyone just stating you had some come in with no names -- so a friendly reminder for people to ensure their names are on them and for those who sent them without names to contact you? If not you may have to wait until your deadline passes and make some calls! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Welcome back! Good luck with your upcoming surgery! I am also a January bride and a Calgarian! Unfortunately I have only stayed at 'mega resorts' in the Mayan but the other ladies suggestions are fantastic. I do want to say that I had a snoop at your profile which led me to your wedding photos AND..... OMG!! your wedding dress was gorgeous. You looked beautiful. I've never seen anything like your dress but it is absolutely fantastic. Good luck!
  8. @@acw271011 Ok I wasn't one of those! haha! Generally when I travel I only have a back pack with my ipad, camera, purse and maybe a magazine & a snack. I usually check everything else. For the wedding I brought as much on the plane as I could while being reasonable! Next month when we go to Vegas in economy and have to pay for a checked bag, I am going to hate it HAHHA!
  9. Definately people who take advantage. I'd like to think I was just a smart traveller, as you said. Generally I only board with my back pack so this time when I boarded with 2 bags I felt guilty. But like I said I read the regulations and didn't default them!! So I recommend everyone do that. I honestly didn't even know you could bring on a roller suitcase until I looked. Actually one of my guests didn't want to check a bag at all and I was like 'how could you bring it all in a backpack'. That's how silly I was. That said she did if clothes wise BUT had no shampoo or sunscreen. Ticked me off she bummed off everyone else when her checked bag was FREE. With flights outside Canada or the USA most airlines are still offering one free checked bag. None the less if you stay within their requirements you should be ok and you shouldn't feel guilty either!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I am pretty sure there was a long discussion about this recently, but I could be mistaken on the photographer (although i am sure I am not) I went back to try to find it for you and I couldn't. Maybe @@beckys98 may know what I am referring too.
  11. Free U2 tickets, that is super awesome!! I am so glad your fiance could make the adjustment and you two had a night out. It's nice to let loose once in awhile, even if it is on a Monday Love all the flower girl dresses, it's tough not to buy more and more for little girls. Much more fun than boys that is forsure. You also have options now which is nice. I love all the shades of blue, but the one on the left is my fave. You can't go wrong with any of them and I agree that the swatches don't really depict the color the best. I also feel the camera and lighting make a big difference too! EDIT: I also love your FB idea We had our bridal party on our wedding website as well. I think it would be neat to do a bio on all the guests actually hehehe!
  12. Thankfully everything with AC worked out. I know the feeling 100% and in the end I much preferred our flight details too, but doesn't relieve much stress until it's all over. We also got lucky I was a bit anal and on my TA because there was another wedding on our flight too. I got some added perks she didn't by changing our flight asap when it was cancelled and advocating for us to the TA to fight fight fight! I also agree on ordering your online stuff soon too. Once we hit October I stopped buying stuff online from the USA or abroad. I was too nervous. While generally it came in 3-4 weeks, I just knew that holidays and the like it wasn't worth risking. Vistraprint uses a courier not Canada Post so you shouldn't have an issue with them. Good luck, your wedding date will be here in no time.
  13. I honestly have no idea. I generally don't worry about this stuff but since it was the wedding I just read the Air Canada website thoroughly as that is who we were flying. I haven't really looked much farther than that. Thankfully I got lucky!
  14. Their websites also have the measurements that mirrors the 'guide' in the airports. That's what I did when I purchased my bag lol. Am I a geek? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I had a bag quite similar to that. It was a large weekender bag by Stella and Dot. Then I used a 20 inch roller suitcase. Then my dress lol. I just read the airlines website on what you could carry and pushed that size limit to the max. You should be fine if you know two items are allowed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Welcome and congrats. St Thomas sounds great! Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. @@jsparrow10 I wish you a happy wedding day on Friday! Hope your wedding is everything you dreamed of and more! Please come back and post some pictures and a review for us Congrats!
  18. Agreed. I had read this before from other brides mentioning gifts had been taken. I made my mother in law in charge of watching the chest and emptying it periodically. As far as I know we didn't miss anything. That said I didn't ask for gifts either but like you said people still bring them so everyone should be prepared. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I brought all our items myself but I know a lot of brides who ask friends and family to help. Our airline gave us a free upgrade to first class so for my family of 4 we in total had 6 suitcases (some up to 70lbs but no way I could make one that heavy). Also know what your carry on limits are and stretch them. Ours said a suitcase and personal item - soooo I used a suitcase and large weekender bag for each of us lol. In total with my dress we had 11 bags. I brought all Breakables and important items in carry on - dress, jewelry, under clothes for dress and shoes, etc. All the decor and OOT items were checked. I brought the maracas in carry too cause we had room. I tried to find items that weren't breakable. I think with all my decor only 2 things had glass. In the end I had 3 for wedding and 3 for clothes basically. Also as said above, on the way home you'd think I'd have half the amount but didn't. Was only less one suitcase as honestly dirty clothes take a lot of room lol I left most my wedding decor items for the resort to re use. @@acw271011 had a lot of good info on how to pack, what to prepare for in customs, etc so I won't repeat all that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Did you happen to pay with your credit card or pay pal? I believe you can take recourse with them too. Good luck! Glad your necklace came!!! EDIT: When are you doing your legal? Who did you end up going with? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I agree with @@beckys98 announce it a few times! We had our postcard guestbook announced atleast 3 times and most of my family didn't sign one. I sent them some back in January and still not done lol. That's par for the course though. That said my husbands mom did a time capsule for us and I think a lot of people contributed to that so we will enjoy that in 5 years only 4.5 to go hehe Message in the bottle is a great idea Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. @@Andrea2015 Congrats on your wedding tomorrow! I hope it's everything you dreamed of and more. Please come back to let us know how it went and post some pics
  23. Fantastic. Beautiful pics. I really love his work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I personally like them Both. I'm not sure your color scheme to say which one I like best based on that. Of the two I like the hints of white better as it feels more bright, like the tropics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
