It is and with our dollar right now it's just too pricey! Thankfully you pay the wedding in peso! Keep us posted on who you choose! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Certainly changed-I had 7 hours,200 photos and a Photobook for $1600 US. At the time I couldn't beat that price with the outside fee but you sure can now. All your choices are fabulous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There is a new price list but I believe the $2000 package is like 6-8 hours worth. Hopefully the basic packages are still the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Who are you considering? Yes the resort photographer isn't associated with the GS wedding department so it's all done separately. Still can't believe their prices jumped so much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It was a good number wasn't empty but wasn't full. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Layouts as in how the tables are set up or how they are decorated? I was offered round or long tables. She sent me 2 pics I believe. I will see if I can find them. I was told they prefer 8-10 per round table. I just left it to them and what they did was have the head table at the front and 2 tables to the right and left sides. Which created a dance floor right in the middle. If you want an idea how it was set up with the buffet tables and everything let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From my experience 200 people won't fit in there. 100 would be tight. I had 4 tables of 10 and a head table of 8. We had room to dance but if you threw in 2-3 more tables (so 20-30 more people) it would be close to capacity I think. Because they also have the long buffet tables, the cake table, the guestbook table plus another 10 plus people serving you. I'd be curious what GS says the capacity for that area is. No problem! The package information I got (unless things changed) listed how late you can book the palapa and the booze options you can choose from to extend the reception. We just picked the cheapest one and I believe it was around $8.50 per person per hour. Can't wait to hear about everything you have chosen
-
You guys are kicking my butt!!! My bill was over $63000! LOL If you are having the palapa you will just have your reception in there. You get the 3 hours included in the cost of the upgrade to the palapa, but if you want extra time you pay the open bar per person/per hour. Then you add on the DJ and such if you plan to use them. The 'After Party' I assume is the one in either the health or the beach bars? If yes, that is more so if you are having your dinner in the A'la Cartes. This allows you to extend the fun, but also have some dancing/music and cut your cake there. I think to have the palapa is a minimum of 30 people, so I am not surprised they are charging you for this. Hope that helps!

Sample itinerary to give to guests?

Sure I can email it later when I'm on my pc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
It does and if you can't find an exact color match you can just do different shades of purple! Pinterest may give you some inspiration. When I went from fuchsia to add orange and then to add turquoise, it was Pinterest that really got me on board with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Awe thanks! I had a lot of brides I asked all my questions to so it's nice to give back. The best I can mind you as it sounds like some things have changed. I still can't even imagine 100 guests, you must feel so loved. You should get perks based on all the business you brought Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Light purple and plum would be pretty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's one that they may not do .... Depending who you ask! I was told no early on but then my WC did it 'hush hush' but only for my family and bridal party. If that's super important you may need to stick to the presidential package or one that includes it (?gold) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't know how Transat works but with AC unless you paid for your seat selection you got placed wherever. We even had couples spread apart but they were able to switch around I believe. I got mine from Dollarama for $2 each. I still wish I had done bubba's but price wise and space wise I couldn't have some people also do stadium cups! Ours was still a lot cheaper cause we only had 45. If we had it in Canada we'd be well over 200 as my husband has a large large family. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They honored the 2014 prices for me. What I did was make a list of my must haves and then priced out each package with the upgrades. Even with all my upgrades I was still cheaper than the presidential package as it didn't include some things I needed but had lots I didn't. I'd suggest maybe trying that? You can change your package I believe since you already locked in the palapa. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Changing the lighting on the posts may be possible. You'll find they have different colored lighting effects all over the resort. Changing the light color in the hanging Chinese lanterns I doubt. They are pretty high up and if they would do it I would assume a set up fee would be charged for the 'hassle'. The lanterns are always there. If you pay they turn the lights on. If you don't they are hanging with no lights. That's what my WC told me anyways in so many words ' I'll just throw them in for free cause they are there and just a flick of the switch' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Ok don't laugh -- have been getting a lot of FB requests from people I don't know. One may be you? Hahahah I may be way off base and you can laugh if I'm wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The discussion on dresses being so out of date by then is so interesting. My mom and dad married over 40 years ago - I LOVE her dress. Very vintage and totally doable today. My sister married 18 years ago and hers is hideous. I guess it's like normal clothes - styles come, go, and then make a come back soooooo you just never know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's how many we had in total There is regular lighting on the posts in the palapa. You can also pay to have the lighted Chinese lanterns. They were about $100 I believe. I was hesitant to get them so she threw them in for free, but honestly I thought they were worth the money and would have paid for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@@veryvalentine Don't feel bad!!! Mine sat in the bag until June -- when we moved I quickly opened it up to see how bad it was. Even with jumping in the pool my bottom edge is still really bad. I don't plan to hang on to mine for any particular reason other than selling it seems hard! hahah! I mean I guess it's not hard to post an add on Kijiji but then to sell it, they will want to try it on blah blah. And I will never ever get back what I paid, especially if I have it cleaned. I have considered selling it for next to nothing but they get it dirty. Phew.... went on there. We will see, but def. don't feel bad.

That's a great price and if you don't add many more extras you can totally stay in that ballpark!!! How many guests do you have and/or anticipate? Hahha I remember stalking my numbers like a hualk to ensure I got the free package! The extra flowers and extra 4 hours of open bar is what jacked up our cost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@@yycbride2016, that makes no sense when you think about it. If you qualify for the free package why should you have to pay for it? my understanding was if you didn't qualify for the free package it was in fact the silver package and you would have to pay that THEN the upgrade fee for the palapa. here is my breakdown, which may not help anymore if policies changed. Were these prices she quoted in the packages you were sent? if not, I would fight that! Prices below are the approximate price I paid in Canadian, but I converted these prices over a year ago so it's safe to assume they changed Free package (was silver otherwise) upgraded to the palapa $980 cocktail hour $8.45 per person for the 1 hour x 41 (kids under 12 free) extend reception by 3 hours (so had 6 total) $8.45 per person per hour x 41 dinner was buffet bbq $32 per person x 39 (2 had dinner included in day pass, kids under 12 free) The 10 included in the package do NOT count when you upgrade so I had to pay for everyone but as said this included all extras for them - chairs, toast/appies, etc. 2 passes for mexican friends to come on resort $100 ish x 2 Mexican Trio for cocktail hour $375 4 tables/20 chairs for cocktail hour $100 (didn't end up getting these so they refunded money) 10 lighted chinese lanterns for reception $100 (she didn't end up charging me for these, but worth the cost) 4 bridemaid's bouquets (then used as centerpieces) $32 x 4 (I had this price quoted, the base price in their catalogue is higher) 5 boutoineires $18 x 5 (mine and groom's included) upgraded my flowers to larger size $42 chair ribbons $1.95 x 45 (you have to include cost for yourself and bridal party as well, as they need chairs at the reception lol) hair trial $125 wedding hair $140 wedding makeup $85 petals for isle $18 golf chart shuttle all day $85 DJ $59/hr x 6 hours Then I had the $500 USD deposit deducted before I paid. Wedding bill before deposit was around $63000, I had to pay for the spa items on their own All in all I believe I paid around $5500 Canadian.
