Janjin's Planning Thread - Azul Sensatori
calgarybride2015 replied to Janjin's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
@@Janjin What I did was use my bridesmaid's bouquets as the table's centerpieces. Then I had the ceremony table flowers on the head table, and the large hanging flowers on the cake table. At my resort I guess they always re-use the ceremony flowers, so I just had to tell her to make sure the bridesmaid's bouquets got into the vases and we were good to go! I had one more table than I had bridesmaid, so I had an extra bouquet made. I would def look into it, you would think they should have no problem with this and if they do, they are just a cash grab -

You should, it's gorgeous. I love all your ideas for the ceremony and the reception! Flowers are pricey, thankfully I re purposed mine from the ceremony to the reception as well We also used maracas with that saying and I had to laugh because we also used the same font from Vistaprint LOL!!! Our guests LOVED them and were shaking them all night long and dancing with them. Best idea ever really. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your guestbook frame. Would you be willing to share your Etsy vendor? I may just want one of those to hang at our house -
Everything looks fantastic @@yycbride2016 Your wedding will be beautiful... From my experience you won't want your table numbers resting on your centerpieces, they will blow away. I had my table numbers in plastic frames from Michaels (IKEA has a similar one) and they blew over hahah! I know Michaels has little bases with wire coming up to hold table numbers, etc. and they seem pretty sturdy (ie heavy) so those might be an option for you. I remember them being pricey so you would probably want to wait for a good coupon! Your bridal party is going to love their bags! Ugh - photography is hard. Is Lancelotti's quality that much better (in your opinion) that you would regret your decision not to use him? If not and Elena is a very close second you could go with the one that better suits your budget. From my experience with all the shots you want taken a 4 hour package will be tough! If you moved all your 'events' at your reception to the beginning you may have time. Do you and your fiance both want getting ready shots? if yes, I would atleast allot 45 mins for this as you have to take into account the time for them to walk between rooms. Especially (like for us) if you are on one side of the resort and he is on the other. We did 1 hour and that was enough, but the photographer was not at the spa only in our rooms afterwards. So for a 4 hour package maybe 45 mins getting ready 30 mins for ceremony and toast photos 1.5 hour for family/group shots, then wedding couple shots 15 mins cocktail party 2 hours for reception with dances, cake, etc. at the beginning Just an idea -- we didn't have any photos of the cocktail party from our photographer, she got one of us with the mariachi band. Otherwise just ones from our friends as honestly not much goes on here. They stand around and drink! haha, while watching you take photos. Unless you plan to be at the cocktail party? Depending how much you want of the reception and the partying - you may be more comfortable with 6 hours. We had 7 hours and we got all of the getting ready, ceremony/toast, group/family photos, wedding couple, reception - entrance, speeches, all dances, cake, and then lots of us partying. Given my experience I would probably opt for the 6 hour package but it's not my budget so obviously it has to work for you guys. I checked out both of their sites and I think they are both quite talented and personally you probably can't go wrong with either. Sorry I was probably no help!

Welcome and congrats. I can assure you almost all brides on here will agree - picking a resort is the hardest part. It's stressful. I recommend you make a must have list and a price point you are comfortable to pay and/or are comfortable for your guests to pay. If you are firm on a location that helps too. Then I suggest you get yourself a good travel agent. They will be your best friend. They will be able to help you find resorts that meet your wish list and then help you narrow down so you can pick one!! They can also help get you wedding package info if you struggle on your own (some resorts are better than others) then of course they can do all your bookings for flight/hotel etc. I think finding a travel agent is your first step!!! I have one of those! I have a 3 cup water bottle that holds fruit or limes, etc. at the bottom and filters the flavor thru. I love it. I make sure to have 1 before lunch, 1 before dinner, and then 1 after dinner or I can't have my diet pop! hahaha!- 315 replies

First off, here is a big (((HUG))) for you! You are going thru a lot right now and you are more than allowed to have all these emotions. I am sooo shocked you are having such a time with AC. I had no issues with them whatsoever, even when they changed the date everything transferred over smoothly. Sounds like you got the dud of the bunch and I am sorry you are going thru all this. Thank god for TA's!!! I don't even know what to say about your FI's brother. I would be utterly choked to be honest. My sister almost didn't come to my wedding but she is broke and that is no lie. Thankfully my aunt stepped up and lent her the money. That said, you have some insider info that makes you being upset very reasonable. I don't even know what to say or suggest, but I feel for you guys. I am so sorry to hear about your nan! I am glad you can look at the positive that she has hard a great life, but it still sucks to know you are going to lose someone you love so much. In trying to stay positive, the 'time frames' they give people to live are all such a guess. Honestly they gave my mom 6 weeks to live and she showed them and fought hard for 1.5 years. It was a roller coaster but it goes to show that they aren't always right. Hopefully your nan hangs on ((hugs)) What a tough thing to be dealing with right now. I am sure it's also super emotional for all your family. Sometimes life isn't fair Go have a drink, you deserve one.

Yoga seems so relaxing. My sister is actually a yoga instructor but sadly we don't live in the same town. That said, I don't bend that way haha I went once and I felt so out of place because I was sooooo not flexible enough. I know it would come with time, but I was sooooo embarrassed.- 315 replies

I feel you. I kept saying '3 months to Vegas I will lose 10 lbs' and I never did it. So this group will help keep you on track. I'm addicted to the scale. It's a bad bad addiction. I've never measured which is crazy given what I've done. So that's another goal for me - to measure monthly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 315 replies

What do you ladies think about making our diaries public on MFP or if you want to have it locked sharing the password? Mines open but I LOVE getting ideas of calorie conscious meals from others on the same journey. I found lately on my friend's list the ones having the most success won't share their dairies if not, no worries just a thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 315 replies
