  1. Hugs I'm so sorry to hear this Ann I can understand your pain and frustration. Try to enjoy your trip regardless. You will have a fabulous time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I had my wedding outside in Mexico and my buttercream cake held up well. Just have them keep it chilled until they serve it. They must be cooking there, so I assume there would be a kitchen? The wedding coordinator brought it out as we were going to cut it and worked great. Your back up option is a great idea too.
  3. Oh that's horrible. Hope things all work out for you brides. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Welcome and congrats! Picking the resort is the toughest part. I think it stresses everyone out. I got married at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. It has everything on your list including the dolphins Lots of packages for the wedding and some beautiful spots. The palapa was gorgeous (see my pics and such below). It's considered a 5* but I'll say it's a solid 4.5* in comparison to hotels by Karisma and such. I suggest getting a really good TA. She can help you narrow down your resorts by your must have list. Then you can compare to their wedding packages to see if they have ones in your budget and what you envision for your day. She can also recommend some resorts that you may not have considered that are in your price point and have good reviews among other things. Are you from Canada or the US? Good luck! 6. @@yycbride2016 so sorry to hear about your job but that you were able to find another quickly. Are you in oil and gas? I hope your dress is safe and sound. I will bet it is and this is more a communication issue. Keep us posted. The shoes are gorgeous Sometimes it's tough but it's great you decided to have some help with the AHR!!! @@TaraMarie33 Our budget was tight so we didn't even consider videography. Thankfully our friend used his go-pro to video tape the ceremony and some of the reception.Just an option if it's not in the budget. I just had the white table cloths. Only paid for the chair sashes so I'm no help sorry. I'm sure once your on site you can view them and make your final choice then We did cheaper favors. We did maracas (which were a huge hit). I got them from Amols for $1.65/pair. Each person got one. Cost us under $50. I also did fans for the chairs which cost around $45 after savings (michaels coupons) The OOT gifts (tumblers with oh shit kits) is what cost the most ($500 range) So that said I think if you wanted you could get some sort of a favor very cost effectively. Some do message in a bottles and you can get the bottles super cheap at dollarama etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I walked down the isle to this but the instrumental version Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Don't panic! Mine showed rain all week and it rained once during the night. It will be beautiful sunshine for both of you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Good job everyone for sticking to things, especially thru the long weekend!!! I knew my loss last week would be minimal given the potluck I attended. I only was down 0.2 for a total of 6.4!! It wasn't a gain so I am happy. I was able to maintain thru the long weekend, so here's to hoping for another loss this weekend. My work outs lacked over the long weekend. I have always had back pain, but it was flaring up so I gave it a rest. I got back to it this AM!!! Keep up the good work! PS - I agree, some of those home programs are killer.... especially the ones shorter in time because they have to give you the effects of the longer workouts! I had been a seasoned gym goer for a couple years before I decided to give JM 30 day shred a try... I was a bit surprised at how hard it was on the first go lol.....
  10. Happy wedding today!! Hope it's all you dreamed of and more. Can't wait to hear all about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I think you can't go wrong either way I'd leave them be ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. They are beautiful I can totally see how you think they look purple. Here is my advice -- will you regret it after your wedding that you wanted them more blue? If yes, I'd see if she can exchange them. If not then roll with it. You will probably be the only person who notices they are gorgeous either way! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Everything looks fantastic. As per usual Where did you get those bags from? They are the perfect size I think! Love you went for the necklace with the off set broach. You know how much I love that style Love the hanger too. Pack it well between something or leave it in the box it came in as they bend out of shape very easily. Good luck on the jobs and I hope you hear soon. I had an interview last week myself keep us posted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. From all my time on the boards and researching this myself, I think it is a very personal decision. We tipped the - wedding coordinator - hair stylist - servers/bartender/dj (all resort staff) - photographer The only 'hindsite' I have is that I would have tipped the service staff a lot more. I tried to count who I saw .... but I am SURE there was way more people behind the scenes I didn't account for. Too late now, but just a thought Good luck! and congrats! 2 weeks will fly by.
  15. Never even thought of the children and babies. Omg that'd be a site. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You will 2--3 days ago on my 'on that day' Facebook app I had posted I hit the double digit countdown to the day we fly. We left on the 17!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I think the hair style is super elegant and matches everything great. Love the jewelry too not long!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Ain't that the truth lol. Then do a crap job and have to rebuy the supplies lol Maybe that was just me. Something's just didn't go my way!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Have fun!!! Do the best you can. When you get home drink lots of water and get right back to it -- You may find you don't gain or you lose it in a week. I usually don't hop on the scale right away as lots is bloat. I wait a few days to access the real damage. 4.5 is awesome--- good job! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. We only had 1.5 hours for all group, family, bridal party and bride/groom shots. We had 45 people. And by the end my husband was sooooo over it and tired of smiling lol. We didn't get the presidential suite so I have no experience changing rooms mid day. Your WC may arrange to have your items transported for you. Just ensure all you need to get ready is in one spot for her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Great review. I am so glad to hear that your day was everything you imagined and more. There are always hiccups, but it sounds like yours were minimal!! I CAN'T wait to see your pictures I hope it works soon!!! And because I haven't said this enough to you over the past year.... I LOVE CUBA!!!! edit - Where is the Iberostar in relation to Varadero? Is it further down the strip or closer to the town? Thanks
  22. Agreed about the selfie stick! My BMs husband had his go pro on the go the whole day. Some of the video he captured of us singing and dancing makes me laugh so hard I almost pee my pants (jk) Those are awesome memories to capture whether picture or video Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. You can totally tell!! You go Girl you look fantastic. Your dress is also gorgeous as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. How long is your reception and how long do you have the DJ for? We had the DJ for the entire length of our reception, so if we had speeches with a microphone or not, we would be cutting into the DJ time as he was there with us the entire 6 hours. That said, if you don't have the DJ the entire time, and they won't give you a microphone otherwise (which is BS IMO, as the set up of his equipment will be done long before your reception starts) you could probably get by without one. The people would have to talk loudly though for those farthest away from them. Especially if the wind is blowing thru. You could do it though - just let them know to speak up. Another thought, if you don't think the speeches will take long, it won't cut into your DJ time (dancing ) all that much, maybe 10-15 mins?? If you don't plan to have the DJ the entire time, I will just give some examples why it may be a good idea. If you want music for your entrances to the reception, if you want music thru dinner, (I guess) if you want speeches with a mic during dinner, etc. those may be some reasons to consider having him there the entire time. Not sure if I helped any. Sorry I didn't have a catholic ceremony there and we haven't had one who has on the board in awhile, that I am aware of. Hopefully you can get some answers.
  25. I think it's gorgeous and honestly I think the straps will finish it off perfectly. From my bigger breasted perspective lol id feel more comfortable with the straps too . Can't wait to see it when it's taken up in length! Gorgeous Congrats on the second interview. That's awesome. Keep us posted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
