Those are freaking fantastic!!!! Everyone will love them. I also get you on not using things yet to spoil the surprise but you just want too! I found 2 dollaramas yesterday that would have enough for me, so if I am going to do it - I will tomorrow on my day off. I am sure they are seasonal, and thanks for the tips on the cracks! Wonder how well they will travel? Fiance and I looked on discount mugs last night and found a nice, slim double insulated tumbler but it's $100 shipping NOT!!! Nothing compares to the bubba and no other travel mug intrigues me, so the tumbler it will be if I do it. How did you do your labels for them? Davit Designs on Etsy is fantastic but $20 to ship to Canada. I may pop into Michaels tomorrow and find some waterproof labels and make my own. Edit-fiance really likes the idea of hangover kits, so the tumblers would nicely house these items! Lots to decide (and I thought I was done my shopping!)

We got 25% more space but we went over that in seats, and blew it out of the water in rooms, because I had way more book as singles then I ever thought I would. That really sucks that this promotion is no longer in effect. I also feared the same for my guests, so I kept telling them that it was based on availability (basically you snooze you lose - although noone wants that for their guests). Hopefully since you are booking a lot of people thru them (which I think they should consider) that your TA can pull some strings and the price will stand as is. Good luck!

Your description actually sounds like most of the resorts in the Mayan unless you get an oceanview! They are large and spread out. While not my first choice (I liked our smaller resort in Varadero better) it isn't the end of the world. I didn't find I needed to make much trips back to the room, just packed the things I thought I would need with me. Everyone is different though. August 2015 is a way away and you could easily save up! We only gave our guests 8 months, which even still gives people time if they wanted too. PS - and that isn't selfish!! especially given their excuses, it's actually a great argument too. Never thought about them paying the day pass and it being the same cost in the end. I would be super upset if they are the groomsmen too. My fiance has 2 of his living in Mexico. His brother/wife are definitely paying to stay for the week because it means a lot to fiance. Unsure re the other one because he has been flaky even being in the wedding party.

It's so so true. Directed at you and @@TinkerSofiI have friends who can clearly afford it based on the things they do (drinking gambling traveling big huge shopping addictions) and they are the first to say they can't afford it. Like others have said - if they want to be there they will. I have friends a lot less close to me that jumped at the chance. It's a shame about him talking others into staying at another resort - that actually would bug me more than him staying there. It's your freaking wedding, not his!!! And heck no I wouldn't be paying their resort daily pass either. We hadn't even considered doing so when we talked about people staying elsewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I went over my numbers too but Air Canada went with it and everyone got the same price. We reserved 30 and took close to 40. Hopefully you find the same from Sunwing. I also agree with the early bird gets the worm. I honestly can't understand how they can pay for elite but get downgraded. If elite is sold out, elite is sold out. No?? Hope it all sorts itself out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Trying to picture your resort. Is the beach technically at a sister resort (like the Bahia principe group?). Cause I've been on resorts were my room to the beach was easily 5-10 min walk!!! And that was one resort not multiple. I was telling my fiancé tonight that close to everyone on this board has a frustrating story to tell. Hugs to us all. Ps - $1700 at this point is a good price. We were hard pressed to find our $1565 so jumped on it - now it's close to $1900. If they are paying a lot less where it's justified to stay there (ie not a couple hundred dollars) they may be disappointed at the quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can just imagine! I have gotten to the point I have bought most of my stuff, but haven't started to make it, so when that time comes it will all be sprawled out. I have my 50 maracas on a table in the basement (airing them out, they smell lol), not sure how I could house them upstairs!

Awesome, love everything! Never thought to buy white maracas and give them a coat in my color paint! I got an assortment of colors but love them! I had to laugh at one of your pics where you can see the inside of your house and all your wedding stuff taking over -- that's so my house too!! Enjoy, one month left.

Colour Scheme & Palette
calgarybride2015 replied to MrsRoy's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I chose fuschia. I honestly never knew of pinterest or the like before to get ideas, so had I have realized people mix up their colors I would have went for fuschia & orange together. I have decided to try to tie in some orange with the BMs bouquets. I may have even went for 3 colors because I LOVE turquoise now too and the color schemes you can make with it. Oh well -

Wedding Dress Prices?
calgarybride2015 replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Atleast you can say you had it taken in not out hehe! Good job! When did you order it? Mine took 2.5 months, I got it from David's Bridal, but my BMs dresses are supposed to take 1 month longer. She said because the color we chose is a new one for them so everything is made when ordered. -
Wedding Dress Prices?
calgarybride2015 replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
So does mine, but I think for me I love it at home because I can try it on when I want haha! And make sure the things I bought after (ie jewelry) look good and match. But those dresses are huge, I had to put a hanger in my ceiling so it didn't lay on the floor! -
First Dance - Plans For All You Ladies?
calgarybride2015 replied to KAT2015's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I don't think we are going to do introductions because we are doing welcome drinks when we arrive so everyone should know eachother by then. Maybe just a newlywed welcome when we come to the reception from taking photos. We are having a separate MC apart from the DJ. What I plan to do is make a little cheat sheet for the MC on how I want my day to flow - right from the ceremony until the end of the night. He can work with the DJ to use the microphone, etc. -
Please Help! Family Being Awful About Wanting A Mexico D/w.
calgarybride2015 replied to Sophiaone95's topic in Newbies!!
Exactly, we didn't have anyone not book either due to location. A lot of my fiance's side has never been on an all inclusive trip, so they have quite a treat in store for them!! -

I totally agree. I also live in a big city where a lot of things happen! But the media loves to bash Mexico in the news any chance they get. People should realize stuff happens everywhere. -

I think this is one of the most (if not the most) annoying things about people not coming. We don't mind you aren't coming, but you don't have to pretend we aren't getting married. We still want you to be involved in some regard, we still want to talk to you about it, we still want you to share in our excitement..... I wonder if they feel so bad they act this way? This is VERY common after all the postings on this board. -
What about those centerpieces right on the floor? I saw a picture on here once where she had mason jars lining the isle. They were glass. Just an idea. Darn customs! But exciting. We got our maracas and laid them all out on the basement table. They look so pretty hehe. May do the tumblers still. It's funny cause I saw them at Dollarama last night for $2 each and was like 'eww $88' that's expensive' (bubba's are way more!!) and then went to the casino which would have paid for them. hahahah I will probably just buy them if another store has a lot left as the one by my house only had half. They definitely have to stay the 7 nights. That's easy for us Canadians as we get packages of flight/hotel that are for 7 nights. I am in Canada so these prices would vary depending on where you are. I was told you can't just have the private beach for your ceremony that you had to upgrade your reception. So to have the private beach/private palapa for reception the cost of just the rental was $980. This is for 3 hours (reception). Once you upgrade to this location 10 people are NO longer included in the package so you have to pay per person for their meals. We chose the cheapest which is a buffet for $32/person. To extend the 3 hour rental you only pay to keep the bar open, which cheapest is about $8.45/hour/person. Then we got extras like a DJ, and extra decor, etc. It didn't end up being free by any means, but for us we didn't need the fluff of the bigger packages, we just upgraded to the things we definitely wanted. Hope that helps some. Can't wait to hear how it all went!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats
