  1. We aren't doing a registry. We didn't list anything about gifts on our wedding website either. If people ask about a registry and/or gifts we politely say that them travelling to our wedding is gift enough for us! I am sure we will still receive things but we are trying not to! I could be wrong but the nice thing about a destination wedding is that if you do get something - it will be small, like a card, because no one travels to a DW with a large gift. Well I wouldn't lol. Majority of our guests don't live near us.
  2. I doubt the 15 will all come when push comes to shove, but I totally feel your frustration. I don't even know if I have 15 people I would just randomly ask to come to Mexico at one given moment - sure I have all my family but I just can't believe she asked 15! people! You could just be blunt and say, this wedding is about me and your brother. I think it's great that your friends are coming and you are having a fun week but I'd like to have my wedding day for just us. I hope you can appreciate and respect that. And as I type that it sounds so easy, but I know it's not because I am still torn over my issue!
  3. I am drawing a blank... The only thing I can think of is if someone had a laptop or ipad there - but then the screen is small!! Also if you needed internet connection you'd have to make sure it was in shot of wifi. Is this because your mom passed? (sorry it was your father - just read this in the other post - hugs!) I lost my mother - I have a bouquet charm with her picture in it. I have also considered having my daughter/father dance to the song they danced to at their wedding - or I might sign to that song, haven't decided yet.
  4. At this point in time we aren't doing gifts for our parents. They didn't help pay for our wedding, but that's not why we aren't. We just really haven't discussed, so it may come up at some point. They will get all the other favors/gifts everyone else does. Getting ready outfits - I have considered the 'bride' 'bridesmaid' shirts but undecided if I want to spend the money as they won't be worn again. Not sure yet. But at the very least I need a shirt I can get over my head easy - won't be a robe as I have to walk to the spa and a robe isn't appropriate hehe. Maybe for your sister get her something extra in her MOH gift - a necklace? something... or maybe get them a nice thank you card together and a gift certificate for back home (fave restaurant or something?). I don't think she expects anything though so anything you give will be super special to her. I got my fiance a cute/funny shirt. It fits his personality and it's all I could think of. He doesn't need a nice watch or whatever so this was for fun more than anything.
  5. In the end we decided to choose people who aren't coming to the wedding in Mexico. That helps keep it mum there, but I guess one never knows. I don't plan to ask my girlfriend until the last minute, so it won't come out by chance at the stagette, etc. For us, I think this is best but never done it before lol
  6. I'm thinking/hoping it's more the entire day that brings the emotion out. Getting ready. Family being excited. Fiance's reaction to seeing you. Walking down the isle etc that will bring out that emotion. Fiancé is going to cry so I probably will too. But it's so hard to say until we are doing both you know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Dont know what I was considering, but now I know my options .... thanks!!!!!!
  8. Was considering doing them before we left. Do you know how long they are good one for? Maybe if I got them the day before we left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Almost wonder if some of my OOT stuff I should have bought after Christmas, but I don't want to wait that long. I am trying to space out my items so the hit doesn't seem so big as if I bought it all tomorrow -- but even this is killing me!
  10. My strapless bra is beige with black lace overlay. I have big boobs so I ain't buying another as this one cost me $200 -- don't care it's not white! It doesn't show, as it's what I wore when I was trying on dresses
  11. Not really a DIY, but kind of... Bath and Body Works has the hand sanni on for 5$5. If you have other things to shop for, buy them first and make sure you get their coupons. There is one for 20% off and then I went back up and got all my hand sanni at the discount. Also another coupon that every order gets a hand sanni free. This is Canada, can't speak for USA
  12. A girl I went to high school married at your resort, she loved it!!! enjoy!
  13. It's not 100% decided but I am pretty sure we won't be sleeping together the night before. Since we will be in Mexico still deciding who will swap with us (ie maybe Fiance and my son can sleep with his brother, and his wife can come sleep with me and my daughter)... or maybe a single friend can have us join her. I like the idea of not seeing eachother until the ceremony!
  14. HAHAH NJBRIDE! My friend recommended thigh paste for chaffing (she had a funny name for it). I am wearing a strapless bra and I just bought a sexy white lace pair of underwear! Made sure they came up enough to help smooth out my sides. I had a tummy tuck in December so I shouldn't need spanx but I still don't like my sides hence the underwear! Doubt I am buying lingerie for after, never wore it and I am super shy!!!! Wonder if it's more a control panty than spanx? Because spanx are a biatch to get on, def. not thin!!!
  15. This is the lady that my friend and my coworker used Miller, Lucy L. 5436 Lakeview Dr. SW Calgary, AB T3E 5R9 Res: 403-240-2014 E-mail: [email protected] Website (external site) http://milmarion.wix.com/vows-by-lucy She charges $100 in her home

  18. I think tips should be based on service. But what is good service worth on a wedding? Not sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Definately getting hair done at the spa but debating getting a makeup consult at MAC in town and doing my own there. Haven't decided. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. It's approx $300 Canadian and from my research is fair among other resorts. But that's my research!! I'm thankful I'm not at the resorts the girls are reporting charge $15 a chair! It's all about what's important to you and your budget. This was a fantastic choice for us and a great price for what we wanted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Most but my guess is all resorts have an outside vendor fee just an FYI! Also from all I've read on this board our extra costs seem cheap in comparison. But I guess everyone's opinions vary but from all I've read, researched and know from Brides of this resort they go out of their way for you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. 2 witnessesAnd I will PM you the info! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Lol mines hanging in my bedroom as the basement grosses me out and the kids rooms I don't trust I asked him if he could handle it. Have to trust me has. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. So my coworker just did this and she paid $125. The lady was right by the Grey Eagle Casino in Lakeview. So they are that cheap! She is going to send me her info if anyone is interested.
