  1. You are awesome! Thank you! I had planned to just make something up myself but would prefer this route. I've pretty much figured vistaprint out other than the background color lol I have a huge project list!! Just awaiting all my final info and engagement pictures to add to it and I will fill a huge order. Did you snag that groupon? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Exactly Lia33 and technically when you arrive home you aren't even legally married in your country until a couple months later when your paper work arrives! If it does arrive! I've heard horror stories about that too... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I think this is case in point why people keep it a secret! The only people who may question the wedding if it's 'real' or not are the people who've legally married in another country. I am sure the people I know who've been to a destination wedding were 'duped' too and they had no idea. Heck you may have been duped yourself if you've ever attended a DW - would you end your friendship? No you'd probably just be fond of the special moment you shared with them. Seems silly to get bent out of shape over something like this. It's no ones choice but your own so be happy with your decision and ignore the negativity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have 3 step brothers as my dad remarried after my mom passed away. I've seen them maybe 3 times in the 8 years they've been married and I in NO way feel obligated to invite them and no one has mentioned a word. It's your wedding, do what you'd like to do! Personally I feel it should be based on your relationship to them. Not everyone should have an auto invite cause you are connected some how IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm pretty sure I will stick with Perla from Adventure Photos but will let fiancé see Bohemia's work. I was going to bring his cousin who takes pictures for fun, just to give an idea about how casual I am over photos... So I think I am happy with on site! From what I understand you can change the color sashes to whatever color you want -- assuming they have your color. It's a price per chair though - about $3 Canadian. All that is included is the basic white chairs, the white linen on the 'arches' and white linen on the signing table. You get the two hanging flower arrangements as well as the table flower arrangement. Otherwise all else is at a cost. There was quite a list from runner to tiki torches to candle bags in their price list. I haven't married yet but all I plan to do at the beach is the bright pink chair sashes and pay for some petals for my daughter to sprinkle down the isle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Sorry i have no advice, the only time I did an iron-on transfer was on to white shirts so this was a none issue. Seems like Kat2015 has a great idea for you, hope it works!!!
  7. Awesome job! Couple questions for you -- how do you change the background color? is it a template or a feature on the customization bar? (can't seem to find it lol) Also, would you be willing to share how you duplicated the wedpics graphic(s) into Vistaprint? I assume you just found the graphic online and imported it as an image? I am also using wedpics and thought their prices to buy cards was ludacris.
  8. I don't think you can ever get away with tan lines! And honestly if your strapless swim suit sits higher than your strapless dress you still lose. So it's a tough one to win IMO. In Cuba I put lotion on every 2 hours at least maybe more some days maybe less others and I came home with a sweet tan. No burn! I'm not overaly worried about the tan lines but will work hard to prevent the burn! Glad you figured out the rash bit as that doesn't sound pretty either!!! I tried on strapless swimsuits yesterday. Umm ya not for my chest size. No support. I'm starting my base tan a couple months out. 2-3 weeks isn't enough for me as I can only go for 5 mins top to start lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. You wonderful ladies all seem to use the raffia fans and they look awesome. Oriental Trading sells them for a great cost and the shipping to Canada (shockingly) isn't horrendous. That said, I just can't stomach the room these are going to take - I need 45! I have cups, maracas, centerpieces, treasure chest, pails, etc. and I don't have the room! I am interested in the ones that fold up (paper/plastic). Michaels Crafts have some nice ones but even with a coupon they are pretty expensive - would cost me $45 IF I had a 50% off coupon. Regular price is 15 fans for $30 Oriental Trading has a variety of options for the paper folding ones in a variety of colors and designs. Anyone use these with success? Is this a tacky option? I wasn't going to do fans (I need to stop playing online!) but my fiance thinks it would be a good idea. Thoughts? Thanks!
  10. Awesome, thank you! I also had planned to take advantage of the Halloween candy for snacks for the cups, etc. My cups are basically at capacity now for the adults but 1-2 Halloween treats would squish right in! lol! I had another idea for the ladies - a few bobby pins, safety pins and a very small nail file (saw a pack of 32 at Dollarama for $1 or something)
  11. I haven't, sorry! I will keep an eye out in my travels though and let you know. I am planning to fill the kids cups with snacks, then thought maybe I could do playing cards but they won't fit. Now I am on a mission to find a travel sized deck!
  12. Was doing some research on Adventure Photos and came across your post. I just HAD to tell you that your dress is GORGEOUS!!!!! so beautiful. Wonderful pictures. Congrats!
  13. I think it's beautiful and you won't even be able to tell it's a BMs dress. That's the beauty of weddings, there is SO much variety. I considered a shorter dress, but then when I got to shopping I had forgotten about it and never tried one on. Second marriage or not, I think it all comes down to who you are and your style! I also have a pretty basic wedding dress in comparison to others, but I love it and that's all that matters.
  14. Another thought about the bags! I wouldn't go nuts on personalizing them with YOUR info because people would be less likely to use them again. Personally, I wouldn't. What I did for our cups (didn't do bags) is just used 'Mexico 2015' which is fairly generic. Just a thought to cut down on costs. WOW!! we get the same but at $32/pp. We could have had it more expensive - around $45-50/PP but we thought the buffet meal was good enough!! And we had read good reviews on it from past brides. Maybe this price is a bit lower because we don't get ANYONE included - I know you get the 30. We don't get a mariachi band though! I am considering splurging on this if we end up getting the 2 booking bonuses. Right now it seems we will (every 17th person free and we had 35 adults book with us - so we should just hit it!), but our final invoices don't come out from Air Canada for a couple weeks so we shall see *crossing fingers*
  15. Exactly! Vacation where everyone starts drinking the minute they wake up! ha! Check out coco bongo too - http://www.cocobongo.com.mx/coco2010/inter/main/2/- I said night club but it's so much more than that! For my peeps who are afraid of boats this may be a fun alternative.
  16. LOL!! this one lady I bought from can only do 15 letters! It's a great compromise!
  17. I am not sure I viewed any resorts that included photography in their packages! This is new to me to hear of this. None the less, I agree, you can totally find cheaper options. Aside from the flowers I splurged on, I did my table centerpieces for approx $8.50 per table. Each table will have 1 pink frame for the table number, 3 mini white pails blinged out with a votive inside, sea shells scattered and that's about it! My BM's bouquets (plus 1 extra) will serve as the flowers for the tables too. Using our maraca favors to also add a splash of color as well. I splurged for the colored chair sashes - they are $2.95 each but one less thing I have to pack and I don't want to have to sell them once I get home. That was worth it for me. We have SOOO much to pack between the cups and the maracas already. I also looked into bringing a photographer from Calgary but most wanted their normal costs and their travel expenses..ummmm not really in my budget to spend $5500 on that. I am sure I could find one for the cost like you - but I am ok to find one in Mexico.
  18. Awesome! He has family in London, Windsor, St. Thomas, Rodney -- and some really small towns around Rodney (drawing a blank)...
  19. If we have any $$ left over which we might from a booking bonus I think I will get a mariachi band Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Our packages only include 10! The price depends on what package your are in. I can't say what those prices are without looking. I changed it up a little -- my package only included an ala carte --What I did was chose to upgrade my location so my fees changed. I paid more to upgrade mr location to the private beach palapa but then I no longer had anyone included and I paid a price per person for everyone! The menu I chose (buffet) was about $32 per person. That includes all the stuff I listed before. This is for 3 hours. Since I chose to extend to 6 hours I had to pay 3 hours of open bar per person which for the cheapest booze is another $8.45 per person per hour. All said and done my wedding is about $4500 before our trip costs and photography. We have about 47 people but 3 kids are free. $125 is a lot!! Does it include anything extra special. Thanks! Our resort photog is Adventure Photos. Some good work some not. Did my research and found out who the actual Photog was that did the stuff I loved. I was told I can request her as she works on site. Narrowed it down to 2. Still debating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Exactly why I chose the free package with the upgrades I wanted!! No fluff I don't need Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Who's your resorts photog? My package includes all of that -- the basics and nothing over the top. All white. I am paying for colored chair sashes though. My resort includes an amount of people in the package that includes chairs, tables, basic linen, food, booze, appies, etc. The minute you go over you pay a price per person but that also includes it all.... Phew hope that made sense, it's late!
  22. I'm Aiming 30 for group and family. Then 1-1.5 for bridal party then us! Debating starting 30 mins earlier to ensure enough time as these shots are the most important to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I'm sure any bridal store or seamstress could do a corset. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. My fiance's family is all from that area of Ontario. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Everyone! They've paid to be there IMO. We are thinking catamaran (booze cruise) or coco bongo (night club). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Fiancé has strict rules and I said I'd abide by them too!! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
