Ok I tried the dress back on! Still LOVE it but realize I need way better posture and I need to learn to smile. I hate smiling and when I force it I look dorky -- so don't mind the smile or (way overdue for a hair cut) hair!! Growing out for the wedding is painful. So my question is -- is my train to long? I guess this is a personal preference but seems sooooo long. I've considered having it shortened or removed but leaning to either nothing or shortened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My reception does not include the cocktail hour. I chose a cocktail hour for my guests while we are having pictures taken as our location is remote on the resort and people can't walk to find a drink. Then we will have our reception when the photos are done - dinner, open bar, speeches, cake, dancing, etc. I did extend it because it also only included 3 hours and I wanted a bit more time. So about 530-1100pm total. I decided to pay for the resort DJ. He is $59 per hour, but the sound system is $42 -- IPOD or not you need a sound system if you plan to have speeches with a microphone so I figured it was worth the extra $17 per hour. We are having an MC from our guests, if you want the DJ at our resort to do it that costs more money. I like a friend being the MC anyways.

Couple reasons. Amols was cheaper than the reviews I found on people buying them there. My fear of not finding 47 and I need to write our names and date on them, attach tags, etc and I'd prefer that to be done than wasting a day in Mexico doing it. Also took a few pens to find one to stick and not smear off - ie only a sharpie works. I may have been screwed had I not have packed the right one to bring to Mexico. I have to be honest, I have no idea who Archer is! Just not into TV or comics or cartoons but the drawing itself is well done. I have never even heard the word 'buxom' LMAO wow I sound sheltered. If this is your style, then I say it's great... how are you going to incorporate all your info? Maybe just use this drawing where others would put their actual photo?

Some people think an invite means everyone and their dog even if 'and family' isn't listed. When you specifically want no kids whatsoever or don't want their kids (lol) I think it clearly needs to be mentioned. And not assuming they understand due to how an envelope was labelled. Just my experience lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Complete Meltdown - Possible Wedding Cancellation!
calgarybride2015 replied to KAT2015's topic in Just venting or funnies
Everyone had great suggestions. Hugs!! I have to agree with acw -- what if you postponed for your girlfriends and they still weren't able to come. That would be uber upsetting. I think I'd sit down with fiancé and figure out what's most important to YOU! And also have your TA speak to WJ about honoring the 7 rooms or anything they could possibly do for you. I just don't understand why people can't secure in now IF they truly want to come and don't want to pay more -- this is the time to secure all those rates, so do it. I feel for you and wish you the best of luck. It's a tough call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Sorry I just happened across this and I feel like I'm barging in. David's bridal has cheaper stuff as do a lot of the wedding favor sites. I can't tell as I'm on my phone but due to your shipping comment you must be in Canada. There is a few favor stores online that are in Canada and they have nice ideas too. What about a clothing/department store? Or eBay? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haha we aren't Newfie and we will all be drunk all week!! We are already starting a poll on how often we think 1 person will not make it back to his room lol. I think that's awesome!! Honestly whenever I travel I always crave things from back home and/or goodies. I'd appreciate it. Unless they bring their own they won't have munchies. I love munchies. Exactly!! And your bubba's will take SO much room already. Some ladies went nuts and I'm more on the thought - it's throwing money away if they don't use it. It makes sense to stick to things you know they will use. I picked stuff I always pack for myself and that provides hangover relief. Always though, to each their own Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nope! No one will think you are cheap whatsoever. They will shocked to have received anything like it IMO -- Honestly your guests will LOVE the bubba's! I didn't do bags. I did tumblers and stuck inside Advil, emergen c, Pepto 2 pack, Tums, 2 bandaids, hand sani and mentos. A full bag means nothing if it gets tossed and not used -- so tell yourself that. Focus on what should get used and you are golden. A bag and a bubba and munchies is awesome in itself. I loved the cup idea. Fiancé loved the hangover kit so we did both and it's limited to what fits in the cup. Bubba's weren't in my budget but had they have been that's all I would have done! Don't feel bad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Flower Girl Dress
calgarybride2015 replied to Tracy989's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Do you have a Winners or the like? Maybe there it's called Marshall's? I got my daughter's for $30 at Winner's. I didn't want to spend a lot more as I already had to bribe her to wear it LOL. It's a light pink and the girls are in fuschia but I'm happy. Otherwise David's bridal has some under $100 or any bridal store should I would think. I could be wrong. Any department store would carry formal dresses too. Good luck. ps- the lighting does my BM's dresses no justice. It's such a bright pink! BM is going to try it on tonight and hoepfully I can get a better picture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Congrats! Looks beautiful, as do you!! Can't wait to see your professional pictures. Your fans - I have been eyeing those up - did they work well? hold up well? Thanks for your opinion. Congrats again, glad it was super special. PS - 1000 years in instrumental by the Piano Guys is what I am walking down the isle too

I called David's Bridal today for something else, but ended up speaking to alterations.. they won't even touch your train, so if you think it's too long you are SOL! They say it's altering the style of the dress. Apparently they don't even touch it when they are hemming. Maybe I am naive, but that shocks me, but oh well. I think my train is too long, I am going to put my dress back on tomorrow and make a final decision - if I want the train shorter and/or gone I will be using the shop my coworker used.
-
Yes the bridal stores are. If you use their alterations department do you get some sort of 'insurance'? Not like they could fix it well if they screwed up the first time, but.... I have mine booked at David's Bridal (they start doing them 2 months in advance)... but I know of a private place cheaper so I may go that route!

Anyone Else Overwhelmed With Cost?
calgarybride2015 replied to kcole123's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I totally agree! I priced it out and the bracelet is $65, and the cheapest charm is $30.. so about $100 per bridesmaid! So $300 and with that I couldn't afford to get them much else! I do like that I have gotten them all the accessories for the wedding (although not Pandora quality LOL) and paid for a small portion of their dress. I know at the end of the day it's the thought that counts - maybe this is just my taste coming thru! I've never seen 'real weddings' so it's probably for the best! -

Anyone Else Overwhelmed With Cost?
calgarybride2015 replied to kcole123's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
That was our guests costs!! Our costs for the wedding would have been SO much more that I'm even to sick thinking of a guesstimate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'm sure it's a different feeling when it's solely your money!I am trying to remember who Kim is and what I'm like on an average day and not get too wrapped up in a lot of over the top things. I'm more for the party than the glitz and glamor. Does that make sense? I'm not over the top at all by nature so why now? This has helped me with some budgeting numbers but others I just realized I was being cheap and sucked it up. Something's I stand firm on. I do have to say sometimes I wish I hadn't jumped into my BMs gifts so quickly. I got them all the stuff they need for their day but I had really wanted to do pandora bracelets. I know it's kind of out of the budget so I did other things. Now I kinda wished I had and just spaced out the cost. Fiancé would kill me but I can dream haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Both work is fabulous! I would go for whoever is cheaper... @@Mrsktobe If you don't mind me asking, what did that hotel room cost? I am currently speaking with MVP to see if I could go to their shop. I said I didn't want to leave the resort, but honestly...their prices are better for all of us (me and my bridal party) compared to my resort. So I am seriously considering it now.
