There are so many nice stamps and hole punch shapes that you could use. Nothing I had thought of before! Honestly I scored the day we went into Michaels. They had the 12x12 cardstock on for 3 for $1 (I have seen it as good as 5 for $1). We just cut them to 8.5 x 11 in size. We have scrap pieces now we can use for other things if we choose. So many colors and designs you can choose from. You could check out any scrap booking store. Michaels also has packages of paper but none were the color we wanted. We used the basic white for the invites though - a pack of 100 sheets was $5. Even with the bow on the front, we only paid basic postage rates. Envelopes were from Staples. We bought regular envelopes but in this linen like design. So just a bit fancier. We have about 50 of them, so we will use those again for our pre travel letters/luggage tags (if the luggage tags fit - should find out!). Like this -- http://www.staples.ca/en/Southworth-25-Cotton-10-Linen-Business-Envelopes-24-lb-4-1-8/product_365485_2-CA_1_20001 -- then we used the mail/envelope feature in Word to print all addresses on them thru our printer. Edit - oh and not sure if it was just the pink cardstock we chose but they were very sensitive to marks. Like our fingers left finger prints on them so we wore gloves haha!

Honestly, I just took a piece of cardstock and folded it into 3. The inside piece we cut the corner off to look like a ticket jacket, and on the other side end we used those double sided scrapbooking stickers to hold the edge. I know it makes no sense, but in a minute I will post a picture of it and it will make more sense. I made them before I found this board so they are amateur in comparison (ie I didn't print anything on them) but they were still a hit. I had planned to have the luggage tag hang from the ribbon but they didn't sit nice. Again amateur in comparison to some but a good first effort lol And to be more than honest not sure I had the patience to print something on the ticket jackets! Seems tricky! Room Key Holder?
calgarybride2015 replied to alwalters625's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I thought I read in another post that those coil ring wrist bands were bought from oriental trading. Also look on amazon or ebay! For the plastic holder itself, I bought Advantus Badge Holders on Amazon. I am using them for luggage tags but would still work! They aren't sealed though so things could get wet if someone wore it in the water. -
Gifts For Parents

I am getting married at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. They have a public beach, private beach, and chapel for ceremonies. I find their wedding packages very reasonable and extras seem really reasonable! We have the private beach and palapa for reception that can hold well over 100 people. It's like a huge outdoor location covered with those straw roofs. I'd suggest a good travel agent as well and then your on site wedding coordinator. I couldn't find an agent big into destination weddings but mine hasn't disappointed. I know things in Canada work different though. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I went for photos last night! Had to change the date due to the kids schedule -- it spitted some, but the rain never came and it was pretty great! We did them at Confederation Park (Calgary brides). He was great to work with, and after the initial embarrassment we really got into it. We did a mix of us, family, and kids. He was great. I have to assume from what he showed us the pictures will be great. I will post a few in a couple weeks when I get them Good practice for wedding shots.

Congrats!!! Our resort sent us all the info to make our decisions and we send it in three months before. They don't even want you to decide until 3 months out? Maybe you could ask for the options and/or find the thread on here if your resort and you can get ideas from other brides? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We aren't having anymore babies! Fiance doesn't have any, but I have (soon to be) 9 year old twins... I also had my stomach fixed due to their damage from being in my belly LOL so we figured that would be all for not, and we are close to having small amounts of freedom due to their age. not sure we want to start over. It does cross my mind from time to time as something special we would share together, but generally I still end up at no! So I will live thru all of you

Gifts For Parents

I asked fiancé if he wanted to do this and he said they wouldn't use them Unless I can think of something else we will probably stick with no! My dad loves bandanas but can't find a funny and/or cute one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Congrats! 4 months to go, marrying in the Mayan!!!

Never used them before! I guess I could try one out before I get there! I think it would be better than kleenex personally from the looks of them. Can't see how it would leave a chalky residue personally!

Gifts For Parents
calgarybride2015 replied to MorganRene's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
We aren't doing any gifts for our parents. I am not sure the 'tradition' behind it, but we have decided not too. If it makes a difference they aren't helping pay for our wedding but that is not the reason we decided against it, just didn't think it was necessary. I had considered giving my dad something small as he is walking me down the isle, but decided on a nice card/message. -
Typically I would say no, but I just had some drama that surrounded this. I didn't send a STD but when my girlfriend found out I was marrying in Mexico she said (in so many words) to count her out and take a lot of pictures for her. So I didn't send her an invite. Well I found out recently she's been miffed about it for months. I explained myself and got no reply. So onwards and upwards. So that said, if it was a firm no and no wishy washy, I wouldn't send one. If you have doubt in your mind, send one!

Dress Dilemma. .can't Decide
calgarybride2015 replied to MJTK's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
You looked beautiful in it. Congrats!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
OMG awesome!!! The only part where I may have questioned if they were real were on the bout's green leaves. They are awesome!! So real if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay? I'm going for real ones for sole purpose of traveling with them. But curious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think it's beautiful. I think because you have long hair with an updo like the picture, it will look great. Would be a bit overwhelming for my short hair. I don't think it's too simple! I think with it's size (appears large) you don't want too much extra on it to overwhelm either. Even if you want more bling/sparkle you could add a bit yourself. Have you found anything similar in your town just for an idea? That's always my fear ordering online. I almost splurged on a pricey flower. Tonight at my hair trial I brought a $4.50 one from Michaels. My hair dresser said to use it and not spend another cent hehe. I'll post pics tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

To Have A Wedding Party Or Not?
calgarybride2015 replied to ANM3's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I am glad I have a wedding party, but hindsite I may have made it smaller. Fiance asked 3 guys right off the hop, so I had to ask 3 girls. I probably would have been ok with 1 each. Ahh well. Yes I felt bad about their expense. I offset the cost of their dress and I provided everything else they need for the day (minus hair/makeup and alterations for the dress if need be). It blew my budget but I am happy to provide that all for them. Thankfully I have no BM drama! If you want a bridal party, then I think you should. Remember that if these people can't afford to come and/or don't want to be in the bridal party due to cost or what have you, they are able to say no. Most understand there is some cost involved. What I did to help with that pressure and guilt was first off only ask people who RSVP'd yes to my wedding. From there I talked to them. -
I agree with @@kcole123. To be honest, no one has asked me about an AHR. Most of everyone in my family I want to come will be in Mexico. My fiance's side of the family is ginormous and he would like to do one back in Ontario for them after, but that is between us and who knows if/when it would happen. Will cost us A LOT of money and at this point I have no desire to discuss spending any more!!! I just plan to invite a tonne of people to my bachorelette party!! I have a lot of co workers and friends who either 1. couldn't come or 2. I just couldn't invite, so they want to celebrate and I figured this would be the best way. They suggested I have a shower but probably won't.
