  1. OHHHH maybe I will look into getting 4 of them because I just assume my resort will offer me vases, but just in case! Did you get them off a specific website? (I apologize if you listed somewhere you had)
  2. I also really wanted to have a photo from my mom & dad's wedding at my reception, as my mom passed away 10 years ago. but... my dad is remarried, as are my fiance's parents and it's like hmmm... do you post a pictures from each of their weddings? hehe, just wasn't sure if that was awkward so we won't do it at all.
  3. Awesome! I don't know where you got married but your reception venue is unreal! beautiful. And they cut her dress!! OMG! haha!
  4. Ahhh the hair debate. Stressed me out for weeks. Even just deciding what hair flower to buy because you can't really tell online how it will look, if it's too big for your head, etc. (like you said!). My ears will be covered and I'm wearing pearl studs.I don't like long earrings now, I only wear sleepers so that was just never on my radar. My hair will be curled with a flower. A flat iron curl she tells me. 'Don't let them touch you with a real curling iron' lol. I almost splurged for a $110 flower but the one I brought to my trial from Michaels for $4.50 is great! My hair dresser told me not to spend another cent on a flower lol. I flat iron my hair everyday so this is a big change for me. Also debated to put my bangs up as they curl some and worried about the humidity. We decided it just wasn't the best look for me. I plan to hair spray the crap out of them the first couple days and see if the straightener holds them. If it doesn't I may tack them back! I may do a trial when I get there. If my hair is longer she said my curls will look different and just want to make sure I am happy and to see if the curls hold. I assume by mid reception my hair will be curl-less and flat??? My hair is my biggest stressor ever since I was young. Here are some pics. I should add this was a quick trial and we used no product. It was more for me to calm down and see what flower I want etc. EDIT: for those following my other post. My hairdresser said I have wavy hair I don't like, and that the kereatin treatments are more for curly hair. She said she wouldn't waste the money, especially if I plan to stick to the curls like we did in my trial. Also, because of the bob and the back hair super short she wasn't sure she would recommend hair extensions. She said it would be hard to add them to the short hair, then to try to do an updo over them. I have to trust her opinion? and honestly I don't mind the curls in my pics below. 5. I'm not doing bags. I'm making hangover kits and putting them inside the tumblers we bought Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I've never done it but I read horror stories that either things don't show up or they are seriously picked thru by customs. If you do plan to mail them I would ensure your WC is ok with storing them. I know our resort isn't. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Depends how you decide to travel with them. I've considered stacking them inside eachother which will help. But since I am filling the cups not doing bags I'm not sure I want to assemble them when I arrive. So if I do that I plan to add the lid but not the straw and pack them. Will take lots of room. No matter what it's a pain! I plan to take 7 suitcases (we get 6 included) so we will see what happens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Amols.com I ordered medium and they are more than big enough! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Also try David's Bridal if you have one near you. My new dress (not off rack but ordered in) was $500. All it needs is a hem and bustle! Lots there for well under $1000. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Personally I think the navy is better than the black because you have turquoise in your colors and they are from the same color family. Just my two cents. What did you decide on? I have fuchsia and turquoise too. Turquoise by accident - was trying to tie in orange, but when I wanted new shirts for the men in the wedding (didn't like the basic white), we settled on turquoise tops! I like the smorgasboard of color. The women will be in fuchsia.
  11. Congrats! One of my bridesmaids is in Curacao right now for her honeymoon. I can tell you where she stayed/what she thought when she gets back if you want Happy Planning!
  12. I've heard that about the groupon so I was worried about the one I bought. Mine dearly said Canada (was $30 for $60). We shall see in the next week or two when I'm ready to print. Awesome job on all!!!! And don't feel bad I'm sure everyone uses ideas from etsy or Pinterest and re duplicates! Have you bought business cards? I tend to lean to the personal ones as I can get 50 (don't need 100). It doesn't look like the cardstock is different/cheaper just less designs to choose from. Curious if anyone had experience with this. Again great job! Love seeing your ideas. I guess it's my turn next Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I am not sure I could have done it without a travel agent! Reviewing contracts, reserving seats on the plane/rooms at the hotel, getting connectors and hotels for guests with layovers, collecting payment, etc. For 45 people! I don't have the patience nor the time for that. I handled all at my resort myself and in the early stages she would just step in if I needed extra help. She checks in to make sure everything is handled there, but it's been really good. Are we missing out on resort extras? not sure, but with all the airline extras we got, I am more than happy! I feel we owe her big! She wasn't a destination wedding specialist, but she is fantastic at what she does!
  14. 50 ain't that bad! start posting away! I can't believe how many I have now, but I remember eagerly awaiting 150!
  15. We planned welcome drinks the night we all arrive so everyone can meet eachother and we can handout our cups, etc. We also plan to do the stag/stagettes (disco? excursion?) It's still in the works but it will happen. Otherwise a bridal party meeting but past that we will see what happens. I don't want to overwhelm people so we will see who wants to do more than others and go with the flow. I wanted a welcome dinner but it wasn't in my package. The lady said to book an ala carte when I arrive - ha ya right, like they have room last minute for 45 people. Once I get my dedicated wedding coordinator I plan to ask again. Not a big deal, we can all go to the buffet and eat together.
  16. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/76222-bridesmaid-giftsshould-i-give-more/page-4 Second last post. I was going to have my daughter carry a sign too then I decided I wanted her to throw petals down the isle for me. They are in our extra's price list so I assume they don't consider it littering? but good question. I got her a metal pail that I painted white and added some bling and ribbon to. Nothing overly fancy but liked it better than the ones in Michaels that are way over priced. I did a shell for my son who is my ring bearer. I plan to tie on the rings for safety, but I prefer the look of them sitting in the sand in the shell. Great job!
  17. Love the slide show idea for the couple and especially your idea including friends. We aren't doing one but if we were this is how I would make it - great idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Really love the signs. Tempted to make some for Mexico. can't wait to see your pics. And lucky girl going back to Vegas! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Nope but possibly completely different 'blocks'. Each side has like 9 or 10 individual 3 story buildings. I think different airlines get different rights to each side. I know we are at the riviera maya but another quote I had was for the Mayan side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Love it!!!! The only prop I used was scrabble letters. L (ring for O) V E in our hands. Can't wait to see how it turned out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ummm as far as I know it's one in the same! The rooms for the Mayan side I believe are the beach front ones but don't quote me on that. Look up their resort map on google. But doesn't matter which one you stay at you get all the same stuff except a different check in location. Since all services are the same I wouldn't worry about which side you are on. If the Mayan side has the beach front and you are on the riviera maya side just ask to upgrade to a fancier room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I have a picture frame charm for my bouquet that has a picture of my late mother. We will have some pics of us at the reception, but otherwise that is it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
