  2. With a strict change in diet you could potentially lose it in 1 month! 8 months is less than 1 lbs a month, you got this!
  3. Have you looked into those ones that are longer in the back and shorter in the front. I saw one the other day (thru photographer who did our family/engagement photos) and I thought it looked sharp.
  4. I was going to look into one, to be honest, but when I got to shopping it totally slipped my mind and I never asked to see one! A lady on this board who married at my resort wore one and it looked great! Anything goes!
  5. Why would pain meds be a no-no? I travel with meds no matter where I go. Since I am going to have a lot more than usual I plan to bring receipts. Everyone puts them in their OOT kits, so I assume if it was a problem we would know by now I am not sure re matches. Maybe in checked baggage, but I would check their regulations. Mexico has an informative website.
  6. We decided on the michaels silk white fans! last week they had a 50% off coupon, so after 3 trips thru the till we got all 45 fans for $45! I plan to tie a ribbon thru the one end so you can see the bow when it is losed up! (don't want to open them all and tie a bow on when we get to Mexico. Good quality! The wooden ones at Michaels weren't as good quality and harder to close. What did you decide on?
  7. Fiance's dad was the same. First was mad, then asked why we couldn't do it in Ontario so he could visit family, then was saying they couldn't afford it, then was mad he had to waste a week in Mexico that he didn't get to decide on, and blah blah. Never ended. He booked in the end! I had a few complain about the cost and that Mexico is NOT that expensive. HAHA $1565 in the Mayan at a 5 star is a hot price, so ya sister find something cheaper in 2015! (or 2014 too!). Then others who just gave their two cents on what would work for them, then said no anyways! ha! ohhh, then the friend who said not to invite her, then was pissed when I didn't. Seriously you can't win, so focus on the positive and those people who are happy for you!
  8. I didn't like threading, I thought it hurt more!
  9. hehe I would hope most separate it now ... I am sure I read an article awhile back how it was transmitting diseases around with double dipping. I went to look now and can't find it, but I am SURE i read something before.
  10. I always tip at an AI, but not for every single drink, etc. But with respect to the wedding I have been working on a list and numbers for what we want to do and think is appropriate. Everyone is different so it's tough to just do what everyone else is! Some people tip everyone, and some only tip the coordinator, photographer, etc. It's tough. I am thinking the coordinator, the wait and bar staff, and the set up/tear down people. Possibly the mariachi, but I am not sure yet. I will also tip the photographer after we sit down and see the pictures together. I will of course tip at the spa. How much? have no idea!!! I had my friends who have been to DW ask their friends who they tipped. 2 said just the WC, and the other just tipped the photographer! That didn't get me far! ha! If you are already paying 15-18% on a specific service, I personally wouldn't tip over and above that, unless someone was phenomenal. Seems unfair to have to tip twice. Just my thoughts.
  11. Exactly! I just did the math and our guests would have saved $44 each, what's the point? The memories, like you said, will mean way more than $44.
  12. I think I'm more scared of those double dipping stories in other countries. Can't recall which one this early in the morning lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It was our choice what we did with the free trips. We decided to reduce the cost of our trip and spend that money on special things at the wedding - mariachi band being one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. At our resort only the bride and groom sign if it's a symbolic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I've only done eyebrows. Not brave enough for anything else lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Depends where you marry! Not as easy at my resort and the location we chose. We had to pay for the golf cart to shuttle all our guests as it's a far distance away! We are doing an open bar for them there with a mariachi band while we take pictures because they can't just mosey on back to the resort!
  17. That would be great if your friend could do them! Our spa is already so pricey, my little ladies across from my house do such a good job and are so cheap! Have you heard of those jamberry nail stickers? I have friends who rave about them.
  18. That sucks that shellac kills your nails. It kills mine too but they don't break off like that. I only do shellac on my toes for tropical trips as I feel the sand eats the regular polish off and I want them to look their best! You know what I used to do -- I would get shellac on my nails and have like a french manicure look, but no tips added. Even though my nails were short (can't see the nail from the backside of my hand) they appeared much longer because of the french manicure. I don't like the nails long either, for the wedding I will get tips but I will have them as super short as they can go!
  19. The things we go thru for beauty! I may get my nails done early January to get used to them, and just get a fill a day or two before we leave!! can't wait to get them, I used to always wear nails but not always practical in my line of work I think I will get a french manicure for my toes too, instead of a color. Not sure yet -- yes I am considering this stuff now (haha 99 days till we leave!)
  20. Legs would be ok! I know when I do my eyebrows I break out a little, so I plan to do them a few weeks before my wedding, just in case
  21. Ocean Photo Studio has a webpage and I actually thought it didn't look too bad! Ivan Luckie's work is nice too!! Glad you found one.
  22. I offered my guests to book alone or at other resorts too. No one booked at another resort and only 1 family didn't book with us as their son works for westjet. We have 2 families in Mexico - one booked with us and one didn't. I have to submit my own guest list to the resort as well, so everyone will be on it. I'm sure they just confirm if they are all at the resort as I didn't request any day passes. Didn't affect anything with perks as thankfully 99% booked with us. Are these horror stories when people book alone or as a group? (I've read some) I bet it happens with both It's unfortunate but will not worry about it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I'm glad you could understand where I was going there, haha it's bedtime. Sounds like you may have a decision It's awesome you can do the USA shipping. We are close to a border this weekend but I didn't make my mind up on a few things quick enough so it's too late Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
