UPDATE 14/10/17 Today is not only 3 months until we fly, but also our payment deadline. There was some iffy people, but I think we have spoken with most of them recently and I think we are good to go! I feel bad for fiance, his groomsman who LIVES in Mexico is being an arse. I get it if you are seriously broke and can't afford to come, but you have had 7 months, you recently posted on FB you've been working a lot (works online in Mexico for a Canadian company).... and you post pictures of yourself partying it up every night... I find it hard to believe you can't afford to come to our wedding. So right now he may come for the day, he isn't sure if he can come for more UGH! Thankfully I never budgeted the locals in Mexico in our numbers for any bonuses, but I feel bad for fiance as he is a groomsman and just doesn't seem to take any of this seriously - even getting his sizes so we could get him a matching outfit was like pulling teeth!. Sorry rant over! On the bright side, my Vistaprint order came and once our people are confirmed to have paid thru my TA, these will go out!!! They turned out great!!! Our paperwork is due on the 21st. We have been working on our seating arrangement and it is HARD! We thought we were close; we wanted our parents together, but we unfortunately had my dad/step mom with all of Shawn's family just due to how it all worked out (singles and trios make it hard haha). My dad was ok with this 100%, But my sister put up a stink her spouse wasn't with any family except her son and my 2 kids... so I tried to rearrange it and while it works, I liked the first way better! ugh, have to sleep on it for a few nights. You can't make everyone happy, I am not a jar of nutella LOL, but we will see what happens! It's only for dinner, people will be up and dancing and mingling, etc. So if we leave it we would have: head table table 1 - Shawn's family (older folk) table 2 - my dad/step mom, brother in law, nephew, my kids, then some of my friends with their kids table 3 - my sister/boyfriend, aunt/uncle/cousin, then a mix of Shawn's family table 4 - a mix of everyone who is a party animal NON wedding to-do list - nursing license renewal - book kid's birthday party If I post them here I might not forget! wow my mind is so wedding it's nuts!

What are you walking down the Aisle to?
calgarybride2015 replied to reevesbride's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
@TinkerSofi Personally I think if it's you, it's perfect. For someone who hasn't watched the movie in eons or isn't a large fan, like yourself, they wouldn't even know where it is from. I love that it's instrumental and has building points -
From another Canadian, the ones on Amazon are usually only with shipping to USA I couldn't find much for us Canadians. I ended up buying the little travel 10 packs from Dollarama for $2 each and found a lot at Walmart. Unless you live close to the border and can ship to a point in the USA and go and pick it all up!

Our thanksgiving already passed!!! I am still awaiting a % off your entire purchase including sale items hahah!

Renting A Charter Bus?
calgarybride2015 replied to Maggietron's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I also agree, with a large group you will probably be on your own bus thru WJ, if not it will be minimal stops. I have been on numerous all inclusives and I never felt the stops on the way to my resort were bothersome. People won't even notice because they will be so busy chatting and looking at the scenery. Save that money for entertainment! -
Travel Agent Response Time?
calgarybride2015 replied to Maggietron's topic in Canadian Destination Wedding Group
Everyone's experiences are different. I couldn't get someone at Flight Centre to return my calls even AFTER they said they would call and email me, so I wouldn't recommend them. This was from 2 different offices in Calgary. I don't think it's absurd either to wait up to a week to get quotes back from airlines, But I am glad you got everything sorted out!!!! -

I'd personally have a separate song for you. It's your big day and you want to build some excitement for your entrance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I haven't heard them all but the ones I have are lovely. I really wanted to use 'best day of my life' somewhere but didn't make it work I love Danza Kuduro!! All are great choices for your entrance. My resort didn't request an entrance song so never crossed my mind Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Hey! First off, your craftiness is awesome! The little dress for your daughter is awesome. I like the cap sleeves better than the braided ones! I also agree about making a second row of flowers, just gives it a bit more coverage! (I'm kinda weird about that stuff though lol) My daughter is NOT girly, so the dress we got was a stretch! She got a matching flower headband though that she picked out. Love the tiara! If you really want the sunglasses to be present at the ceremony, I think you should hand them out at the ceremony and/or have them on the chairs. While people will have good intentions, people also forget. Up to you! I soooo wanted a heart hole punch, only found 1 at Michaels and wished I would have bought it ($1.50 bin) now I can't find them anywhere All is great! I have to decide re time to give gifts. Would just be easier to do it at home before we leave, but also love the idea of them doing it before the wedding. Maybe 1/2 and 1/2 as some items (like beach bags) would be nice to have from the start! Can't wait to see more!

I searched high and low on Amazon and on other sites and just couldn't find great deals when you looked at shipping to Canada. Walmart and Dollarama it was! (I missed listing my advil above, but got them for $2 each at Dollarama). Not sure you read that from me. We are staying in the resort, on the Riviera Maya side! Did you like the resort? We have people coming to our wedding who have previously stayed there - we haven't heard any bad reviews! You must be stoked!! coming so quick. I hope you write one, now or later, because we would love to hear all about it. EDIT: looking back I can see why Shawn was annoyed I spent so much time online, but heck I saved us a lot of money! I know shipping to Canada is bad no matter what, but only two things really made me gulp -- my labels for the cups and my bloom box vases.

Travel Agent Response Time?
calgarybride2015 replied to Maggietron's topic in Canadian Destination Wedding Group
Darn! well atleast you know and can work out the best options! We only ran into one issue with our gateways - we chose Air Canada due to pricing then found out they didn't have direct flights to Cancun from Vancouver (wth right?) so all our Kelowna peeps have to come to Calgary, but the connector was only $125 return and that is pretty fantastic. -
Alteration Tips
calgarybride2015 replied to lydiasusi's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I should really get on this. My appt with DB is about 1 month from now and I was going to shop around as well. It would have to be a large savings to go elsewhere! I have a few recommendations. Hopefully not to expensive. -

Ahh ok! what about Sunwing or Air Transat? I would totally leave everyone in Canada as not only would you get the booking deal, their packages from Canada are more inclusive (transfers, etc. included to the resort). -
Travel Agent Response Time?
calgarybride2015 replied to Maggietron's topic in Canadian Destination Wedding Group
That's actually not bad. We got a free trip before taxes for every 17 ($1000 approx) so really yours ends up being better! If this travel agent is working for you I'd just stick with her. If she stops pushing one resort, mind you. Quotes from airlines take awhile, I would give that turn around atleast 4-7 days. Are you stuck on westjet? They typically are more expensive. Well from all my research they have been. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Renting A Charter Bus?
calgarybride2015 replied to Maggietron's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I didn't put it on our website as most people know that it's par for the course - pay to park or a taxi. If you think they may drive and get a hotel rather than take a connector then maybe list all the options for them. Then let them figure out what they want to do - ie sometimes people pay more just for convenience. My travel agent listed the connecting flights and found our guests a smoking hotel deal. Other than that I left that to them to figure out. We've considered getting a large bus to get us all to the airport as we have 34 people out of Calgary. Still looking... Not really a priority yet as we have 3 months to go. Edit- our Ontario guests in Windsor are driving to Toronto and spending the night. Our Ottawa guests are taking a connector. That would be fun! Wonder if our MC would arrange something like that - or a BM who can tell the MC to do it haha! -

@@tygrrlily, what is the shoe game and such? I think I have an idea, is that where the MC (or anyone) asks questions and you hold up your shoe to answer? That sounds like fun. -
Steal away! That's what we post these for - well I think so anyways! I have went thru most, if not all, of the planning threads on here My cake topper came today! Fastest shipping from the States, ever! I LOVE it!! Honestly, I may have liked it a bit bigger for it to make more of a statement but super happy with it (Etsy - Chicagofactory)
