Interesting question! So either your guests buy it off site and stock up their mini bars, or they purchase it on site from the bars? I assume it's the same set up as AI except you pay per drink? I think you could go either way with this -- they can just drink it out of whatever they purchase (cans, bottles, etc.) or they can use your tumblers to pour it into. Pros - can make mixed drinks and not worry about a cup, don't have to worry about glass bottles, etc. breaking, and can keep it cooler longer. I think you are ok either way here.

Valid point. I have considered my kids getting sick (not hospitalization) and assumed we would make arrangements for them to go with their father. But like you said, much worse can happen. For piece of mind, at the very least, $266 probably is worth every cent. Sorry you had to be back in the hospital and you are going thru all of this. It just takes one person to deal with something to make it seem more 'real life', so while my heart goes out to you, I thank you for giving me your experience. Hugs.

I went back into my contract and looked. For photography it's a $300 USD vendor fee and $650 pesos (approx $54 CDN) day pass per person, which would be two as he brings a second shooter. So about $400 more! Which isn't over the top. I assume the day pass allows them to eat. I don't think I can go wrong with with either, because I did do my research on photographers who work with Adventure Photos. I do love Samuel's artist touch though! I am currently trying to figure out if we have to pay tax! Nothing in my contract or FAQ mentions tax anywhere, but I know a lot of brides pay it - some 16% which is a lot more for my budget!!! Hopefully I hear back soon from the WC.

Random question... I've never purchased travel insurance before because I get some coverage thru my work. With work I get medical, travel interruption/delay, and other things. I don't have trip cancellation and I don't have baggage coverage. It would take a lot for us NOT to attend our wedding LOL! but since I am paying for my kids to be there too, and bringing all our favors I am a little worried. A full package with medical, trip cancellation and baggage is about $266 thru TA. (cheaper with medical, than without) If I just want baggage $1000 is $75 BUT that is only for me... apparently you can't get a family rate. I can't find anything cheaper online. Just can't decide if it is necessary! I think I can do without the trip cancellation, because again it will take A LOT for us not to attend our wedding, but I wouldn't mind the baggage insurance. What is everyone else doing?

Hair Extensions

All the girls I know who use hair extensions use Sally's, only one goes elsewhere but they make better hair extensions for her ethnicity apparently! -
Confession 2014/10/19 Yesterday I was just playing around on BDW forums and happened to click on the link on the side bar for 'Samual Luna' and OMG I am in love with his work. I requested his prices which I thought would be so far outside our price range, but his basic package is what I am paying now! The packages really aren't comparable as they offer different things (time, second shooter, etc.) but for that price I think he is a steal! I am really torn, going to speak to Shawn about it later tonight. We would have the vendor fee, and day pass which is manageable. I haven't paid anything to our resort photog - they don't ask for a holding deposit, would it be tacky to cancel them should I choose to proceed with Samuel Luna? Thanks for your opinions.

I don't have any experience but your concerns are valid. When we did our engagement photos I had to pay for the service at the time of shooting then hope he delivered the product 2 weeks later. Of course it crossed my mind that he could run and what could I do. He didn't though and our product was fabulous. My resort only wants a deposit and the rest is paid when we arrive at the resort. The resort photographer didn't even want a deposit - so on the flip side what incentive have they made for us to not change our minds! That said, if you did your research on the vendor, you read reviews (good and bad) then you should feel confident they will show up. Again no advice but if you did your legwork I think you will be safe. Ps - was thinking you hadn't been around in awhile. Which photographer did you decide on? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry, Mom! You Can't Be Involved In Everything.

I don't know what it is about weddings and drama but you've done your part to tell her what you are up too and include her at another time. Stick to your guns. You've done nothing wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
worried about low attendance for our wedding

I don't think you have to be at an absolute stand still. Unless your packages are super restrictive. I knew what I wanted regardless so we just went on and planned. We had a lot more come than I imagined so I had to increase my budget some! Favors we waited till we had a general idea. Most people didn't pay their deposit until the final week and days so just be prepared for that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I also love when noobs ask lots of questions as it perks the board back up and gives us oldies something new to talk about Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What Are Your Fitness Goals?
calgarybride2015 replied to diadiamond's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I hear ya! We used to arrive Sunday and marry Wednesday but our flight got cancelled and we now leave Saturday. Now I have one more day to indulge. It's my wedding week and I'm Not doing to drink water and eating celery because that's miserable and I didn't pay $$ for that. I just plan to lose a bit more before we leave so I can bloat up to my normal weight haha that's my plan anyways! Hindsight marrying right after Xmas may have been silly. And I may have got a corset back! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Unfortunately I think everyone on here feels your frustration. We've all been there in one way or another. The complaints and slack we got (and still get) about Mexico, about the cost, etc. Is upsetting. For people booked it is only fiance's dad but people who didn't book felt the need to not just kindly say no, some where so tacky about it. I didn't realize now how much drama they caused!!! So you are just witnessing what's par for the course it seems. People who you thought would be 100% by your side, won't be. And friends you thought would be 50% are there 100%. I've lost a great friendship (or so I thought it was). My bestie vanished once I got engaged. It caused a lot of tears, I had friends say they couldn't come but then ignored me/got in a tiff when I took them at their word and didn't send an invite. I could go on. What I'm learning is this day is for you two. You can't and will never make everyone happy so just do your best while remembering at the end of the day it's about you two. Foster the friendships that arise from this and move on from the ones that bring you down. It's such an eye opener. The stress goes in waves. Leading up until the deposit deadline. Then leading up until the payment deadline (mine was yesterday and this week was tough. as the week went on fiance's dad's complaints re started). We also banked on those booking bonuses for extras as we thought we had our numbers. While it seems we do - I believe everyone paid yay! it wouldn't be the end of the world if we don't. At the end of the day worry about making you two happy! Don't budge for others. We did early on only for those people to not even come!!!!! Be prepared for the frustration of people's opinions and be prepared for drama. Just know you worked hard to get them a good deal and try to have faith. Most of us have been here, trust me. I thought it was just my friends and family until I found this board. Good luck!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So true, the ones you thought 100% would be there, won't be... and then the ones you were iffy on are the ones who do end up coming! par for the course. It's not the no's that bug me, it's the ones that ignore you or cause drama surrounding it, that drive me mad. Just say no and move on, sigh!
