  1. I almost bought a hair piece at blissful bridal. They had some Beautiful dresses and the few I snuck a peek at weren't expensive either. There is also another bridal store by the spence diamonds across from chinook. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I got the luggage tags from Amazon.com -- Advantus proximity badge holders and the loops I got from dollarama. You can also get loops online but couldn't find a good deal to Canada. At Dollarama they are in packs with laminating sleeves but I threw those out. It was $1 for 5. Staples also had badge holders but a bit more expensive. I think 20-25 was around $20. 3. Can't speak for all Canadian cities but I know in Calgary you can't have a court house marriage. They don't do that anymore! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. When's the big day? When I was there, there was a section on the side back wall of dresses you could buy off the rack. I tried a few on. Not sure they could alter it unless you have an appt already as they book months in advance. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. I haven't booked her yet. She said December was good for January but I should do it soon so I get the date I want. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Sorry jumping in. It's possible that AC doesn't have access to some room Types and maybe that is why they are saying that ?! For our resort my sister wanted the large connecting rooms for her teenage kids but AC has no 'privilege' to book those so my sister has to ask for the upgrade at check in. Just a thought. 7. It's a button you push when standing with a customs officer. Seriously it's just a big button. If it's green you walk thru, if it's red you get searched. It's just a 50/50 chance there is nothing behind it. I am certain they can search you if they feel appropriate otherwise it's a 50/50 luck of the draw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Very pretty! How did they make it 4 inches too small? Like took it in too much or the sizing was way off? I had a problem with mine coming smaller than the rack dress too but she's taking it out a bit. 4 inches seems like a lot. Are they comping you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Some girls on here made them. Super cute but I didn't do them we restricted ourselves to what would fit in the cups! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I booked for Sunday to Sunday for a Wednesday wedding in May with my wedding in January. My flight got cancelled and rescheduled a day earlier. When you book so far in advance it is a great possibility that will happen. I prefer the Saturday to Saturday anyways. The reason why they need a couple working days before a symbolic is you still have stuff that needs to be done -- you need a meeting with your WC to go over every last detail and finalize it all, you need to pay for the wedding, they need time to order all your flowers, cake, etc. and to drop off all your decor items to them. Civil is a few more days than that because of all the bloodwork and paperwork involved. Your resort is a little different than mine, so hopefully someone else can chime in. I didn't book my package with Air Canada until I had a firmed up wedding date. We had to pay a deposit to hold our spot though -- I am still a bit shocked your resort doesn't require this!!!!!
  11. We lost 3 guests today I'm not overally surprised, I had a feeling. They didn't book with the group and I had mentioned to Shawn it was odd they still hadn't mentioned about booking! Back to the drawing board for our table assignment! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Sometimes I wish we had a lack of snow and cold, but not sure I could handle all the rain! I grew up in northern BC so when I came to Calgary the chinooks were awesome - now I'm just a baby all around lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. We are doing it before so once we so I DO in Mexico we are really husband and wife. We don't want to technically have to wait another week or two. Haha that's what I came up with. We aren't telling anyone either -- our witnesses won't be at the wedding. It's not that I think my family would be upset but it appears some people take it harder than expected so easier to just not go there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If I would have know this months ago!!! It's a great idea. I do remember thinking to myself as I viewed your pics 'how did she get that stuff there?!' It's beautiful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. That is nuts! My resort charged $35 for a large flower centerpiece in a glass vase. I asked to rent the vase only and didn't get far so I bought the Blume boxes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'm sorry I'm also not staying at your resort. When I paid my deposit I got a wedding contract re extra fees, cancellations, etc and of listed it in there. Definitely ask your WC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Most resorts allow this without the vendor fee if they are a guest staying a certain amount of nights. Ours states 3 nights. This should be in your contract somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Awe thanks talented I'm not sure but I do have a lot of ideas I'm learning as I go how to pull them off myself. I appreciate the comments. You ladies rawk! I grew up in northern BC so still lots of cold and Snow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks!!! I actually was thinking of you recently and that we hadn't talked in ages. My life was taken over but it's calmed down some lately. How are you?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hugs I think we all go thru this in one way or another. It's very frustrating and gets you down. There was times we panicked about numbers, but in the end way more booked than we thought. And I seriously counted my list 100x times to make sure we would make our counts. It took over my life. Try not to stress just yet. Sorry to hear your family is the hardest to deal with right now. Does your sister realize if she goes thru the States nothing is a package? she has air, resort, transfers, etc.? Maybe that would sway her. Also, maybe have a good heart to heart with her about your numbers - it's not just $200 for your sibling but more than that. Also, when is your wedding date? The pregnancy one is hard for me - I see both sides. I see they want a child and now lol, but on the flip side I don't see that planning it around your wedding is a lot to ask. Maybe hold off a few months so she can still travel to your wedding being pregnant (ie - it's in early pregnancy not when she is ready to pop). Or wait until a month before your wedding or or or. They have options, but again I see it from both sides. I feel for you!
  20. YAY!!! Ours have never dropped below our group rate either! Actually - Air Canada no longer has a flight to our resort on the same day (maybe they sold out??) so I feel good in our choice now and I think our guests will appreciate that too. I know some shopped around!
  21. I had hoped to marry earlier in the week too, but our flight got cancelled and moved ahead... I probably could have changed my wedding date but left it as is! Enjoy!
  22. Oh nice! you get married right at the start! ours is on the 5th day!
  23. A lot of ladies do this and it is a great idea! Here is one thread for you to check out - http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/77839-after-guests-pay-their-deposit/ I am sure there is another, I will go see if I can find it I didn't do a thank you for booking as our turn around has been fairly quick. Shortly after final payment was due I sent out a pre-travel brochure and luggage tags! If I had more time I may have done this as well
