  1. I found the Aylee bits template quite easy to use. It's free online. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I totally understand where you are coming from. I think when we have people we call friends we expect a certain level of respect, reciprocation, etc. It is uplifting! You also touch on another point about RSVPing. Another thing I found annoying - it was amazing how some people could politely say no and state their reason why and life moved on. But some had to make such drama out of it. Is it really necessary? maybe it made them feel better? Weddings amaze me lol
  3. I agree, there is only so many attempts that can be made. The girl who I thought was my bestfriend wouldn't even talk to me about my engagement/wedding. The friendship dwindled to nothing shortly after I got engaged. I gave them an invite but never got a response. Since it was so strained I didn't even get to ask her to be my MOH. I tried a couple times (dress shopping, advice, etc.) and I got every lame excuse in the book. I made one last attempt with having her help plan my bachelorette and got such a ridiculous reply that I gave up and haven't talked to her since June. She also 'forgot' my birthday and I was just over it. My life feels so much less stress without her in it. I hate to say that, but it's true. Then I had other drama surrounding invites from another friend -- oddly these two I am talking about are friends (we are all neighbors) so you have to wonder if that is fueled so how between the two of them. High school drama I say!
  4. It sure does let you know who your true friends are! I think that was my biggest shock and hardest thing to understand.
  5. No I haven't, but I have had next to no eye lashes so fake ones that *could* trash your lashes aren't something I am comfortable with. Back in 2010 I bought waterproof mascara and then I started losing all my lashes. Once I realized it was the mascara and I switched to non-waterproof I was ok, but it took forever for them to grow back. I had to use a thick black eyeliner to give the impression they were there. Ohhh now that you say that a friend of mine swears by this medicine you put on your lashes. She asked me to get her some from the Pharmacy in the Cancun airport. I should ask her what it is called, not that that helps us in US/Canada but maybe you US ladies have access to it.
  6. Not to me!!! I had no eyelashes for awhile and it wasn't ok lol I was very self conscious. And she has been waiting 6 months as she mentioned June. There are alternatives like the glue ones. I assume they do some damage but likely Not as much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The owners of this site, Wright Travel, are US based and are fantastic from all the reviews on here. I would suggest you check them out. Sorry your family friend disappeared who was working with you - hopefully you get it all sorted out. Good luck!
  8. Yay I could open them at home. I think they are fantastic!! I could be wrong, but I would use a comma after 'Together with their parents' as without the common it sounds like you are saying their names not yours. Love them!
  9. To save face I'd just send one and be done with it. I had the friend who verbally told me she couldn't come but then was pissy when I didn't send her an invite. I decided to be the bigger person and invite her to my bachelorette but she of course declined. Done and done - I can say I did the right thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Check out one of the last pages of tygrrlilly's planning thread as she got them I'd post the link but on my phone. Edit: Sorry I see you replied to her thread. A couple posts down Wafflesmom replied and you may find that helpful if you haven't read it yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. My 46 tumblers took a whole suitcase but I put my oh shit kit inside them so I couldn't stack the cups (I doubt you can stack bubba's inside eachother either). I have another suitcase that's full of maracas. Then 1 more that I hope fits all The extra decor (crossing fingers). We will then have 3 of clothes for 4 people. We get 6 included so that's nice so if we need a 7th it won't cost much. Overwhelming though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Jumping in, but I highly recommend sending a reminder or two. Lots of people get busy with life and totally forget then throw in Christmas and it's just not on the top of their list. We sent 2 reminders and most People thanked us for the reminder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I spent about $80 each. I got them a beach bag, make up bag, necklace & earring set & sandals for the wedding, anklet, frame with picture of us in it, compact, nail file, body butter, and odds and ends like that. I also bought some bangles but I don't think they will wear them as they might be overkill with the other jewelry. I have to stop myself from spending any more! It's almost addicting, just like all wedding shopping is! I found some good deals on Etsy!
  14. I have no idea? Alberta has a list of all commissioners but they charge whatever rate they want. I emailed 2-3 and all prices varied. Even marriage licenses cost different amounts depending what registry you go to!
  15. That's a great idea about lunch with your grandmother. I think one of the reasons the lady we are using is cheap ($100) is because we have to go to her. I am sure she would do them anywhere but the price may go up. Good luck! I have to get mine booked, less than a month for that!!! but she wants our witnesses and their info when we book and we haven't decided 100% what to do there yet.
  16. Would the marriage commissioner allow you to do it outside in a nice area? or in their home? We are doing it in our ladies home! I know two ladies who have done this so I feel ok with it, but it does seem funny.
  17. Perfect. I tried not to overly worry about these as people remember the party not the centerpiece. They look great. Wish I had those blue candle holders Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yup they are waterproof. I washed all my cups today and had a few I had put labels on already and the labels held up 100%. YAY!
  19. I told fiance about this idea and he loves it and really wants to do it lol Maybe I can get mine with apple juice!
  20. I think you have done more than enough!!! If you really wanted to do koozies, I have seen decent prices on Etsy and Ebay, even try Vistaprint. But what you have is more than fantastic.
  21. I'd need meds for anxiety if I was ever invited to a white party unless I could find a loose white skirt maybe. Nothing form fitted (shudder) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I think the best part is that it was your mothers idea. Love it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
