Thanks so much I love this forum cause the minute I start doubting myself you amazing people understand and give the best advice.

Hey everyone, I need some advice/ opinions. My FI and I have decided that we wanted a best wishes only wedding, no gifts since we believe that our guest are spending a lot to join us on our DW and we don't Need anything. However I am still have a bunch of people asking me where we are registered, since they are not able to attend the wedding. Should I make a registry for the individuals who want to buy? If so how would I inform family and friends without making them feel like gifts are now necessary? T iA

I had originally said I wouldn't but my FI wants to do one for each of our families. However with the lack if support of our DW is currently getting to me. Every time our wedding is mentioned the word selfish is brought up.....so I may need to back down and hold two AHR. One in Alberta for his family and one in NS for mine... Looks like my less stress, small, cost effective wedding may turn into a big event. If we do the art We will only be doing a BBQ type thing, very informal where guest can come and go as they please.

I love the sound of this. At first I was dead against getting the legal stuff done before the wedding but now I think it's best. However I was wondering if it effects anything when it comes to passports, flights etc because technically I would have my FI's last name...

Hey Everyone, I need some advice/opinions. I am having a small wedding about 15 guest plus my FI and I, so we will be doing an a la carte reception then joining the pool party. My question is when should we do our first dance/ father daughter dance? I thought of doing it on the beach after our wedding or bringing an iPod and plugging it somewhere at the resort to do the two dances? Has anyone tried either of these? TIA

We are having a small wedding (under 20 guest). My FI and I will be doing a thank you speech, my father will speak and other than that we are going to go with the flow. If anyone wants to say something they are more then welcome.

I'm struggling with picking a date for our AHRs, My family lives across the country from my Fiancés. So I think that we will be doing his family's AHR when we return in July since we live in the same province as his family. I feel bad but family will have to wait and one later in the year or maybe the next summer depending on the price of flights. For your AHR are you guys planning a big event or is it more of a get together? I was thinking maybe a BBQ with pictures of our wedding?

I felt the same way when I decided on a destination wedding. However once I sat down and read and connected with other brides and brides to be from my resort I started to relax. 3 months thats so exciting! It makes my July wedding seem so far away. Things are moving slowly at this point because we are waiting for our guest to reply. Once we have exact number of guest we can continue to planning.

I did. It took a long time figure out which one to pick. But the Ocean Coral was the best for our budget. How is the wedding planning going?

Great ideas. I've really be struggling with figuring out what to get my wedding party for gifts. I want them to know how much it means to us to have them there but I don't want to break the bank either... That's a great idea. I'm sure my fiancé would love them. To bad I'm so shy...

Great idea on the photo book. I will defiantly be doing that for our parents and I may do one for our grandparents as well. For my dad I was going to orders picture frame from etsy for our father daughter dance. There are some nice ones that have cute sayings.

Hey everyone, I have a few questions that hopefully you can give me advice/answer for me... I am not bringing a big group of people with me to the wedding so we need to do the a la carte supper. Has anyone done this? What is the atmosphere like? Where the other guest really close or did they tend to give you some privacy? Also since the a la carte doesn't have a dance floor I was wondering how you did your first dance and your father daughter dance? I was also wondering if anyone knows the difference between the symbolic and civil wedding ceremony? I understand all the legal part of it but I'm just wondering about the actual ceremony. We are thinking of doing a symbolic but not telling anyone and we will get all the legal documentation done in Alberta when we get back. TIA

Yeah I noticed the reviews are amazing or horrible. When I read reviews I delete the best and worse. I often find with the average ratings they give better explanations. Also now that I have picked the resort I stopped reading all reviews. It was driving me crazy and I started second guessing my decision.
