    @@HerreraNovia my TA was pushing certain resorts too but I think they may be associated or preferred partners with them ... In the end I did my own research and told her where I wanted to book that wasn't on their web site and she helped me do the contract for them without giving me too much of a hassle so don't be afraid to say you want to keep looking or keep your options open or want other suggestions!     @@kbailey4 My travel agent warned me about communication issues before I signed the contract. I went ahead with it anyway because it seems like once you get there, it turns out amazing! I'm totally type A so at least I know any future torture I experience, I brought it upon myself =) Plus it seems like this is normal for resorts - that unless you also have an offsite wedding coordinator then communication sucks. Do you mind me asking which travel agency you went with?

    @@MrsRoy it sounds like you have a clear idea on how you want your wedding to be! I think most of us are type a/planner types, otherwise we wouldn't be on this forum I think if you wanted to wait to plan anything until you get to the resort, you could!
